My grandma always said that no mater what doctors said then or say now we should always try to eat as we always did: butcher our own meat and get our own lard, eat our own veggies and fruits, eat lots of heatly soup, stews and beans and dont listen to anyone. If it worked for a thousand years we need to stuck with it.

The official narrative has convinced people into believing that people are living longer now due to modern medicine, and diet. Dropping my diet to grass fed beef and bacon fat with berries and fibrous fruit actually dropped my blood pressure to normal levels for the first time in my life. I tried all kinds of things. It's important to do the research by ourselves
TRUST THE SCIENCE!!
All you really need to prove yourself that modern diet are scams is just look at people now compared to just 60 years ago. Look at what your grandparents ate and how healthy they were compared to people today. My grandpa was a farmer, he has lived his entire life on salmon, raw milk, red meat, pork, cheese and eggs. He is 97 years old now, slim and fit as a fiddle, he has retired from farming but he goes hiking everyday with his new wife and last year he finished a 4 hours long ski marathon for the 35th year in a row

He's smart, he has stayed active. That works the body and the mind, critical to a quality life. May your grandpa live many more happy birthdays!
Processed sugar was invented in the 50s and it was bad for american boomers, combined with modern convenient lifestyles, just keeps getting worse for each generation. A farmer's lifestyle is very active in addition to his wise food choices. Many jobs today force you to be sedentary.
We have prioritized making food as addictive as possible, not health
Every aspect of American culture is being shaped to make it as profitable as possible. There actually is a huge profit incentive for Americans to be as unhealthy as possible, since the health insurance industry is something that directly profits from that suffering, and is hugely influential in American politics and massive corruption. The US is in decline because it has prioritized profit over the development of it's production and people.

The almighty dollar at the Expense of Americans Health and Lives. Blame that.
25 years ago when I was in HS they did that "list everything you eat for a week" thing, so I thought I'd make my diet match the food pyramid's suggestions pretty closely (cuz I'm an Aspie and weird like that). My teacher was astonished at how much food I listed that I ate. He said it was more than any he'd seen in his years teaching. It was a lot of food.
And the propaganda worked really well, my parents think that white bread and pasta are the healthiest foods. As they grew up before that bullshit they weren't too affected, they had a different metabolism, but we got raised with that, no wonder we got super fat.
I went on a low carb diet and lost 35kg ( 77lbs ). I realized years ago that that pyramid was a scam probably pushed on us by lobbies. Now the hard part is to convince my family, my sisters and their kids, getting fatter every day.
Carbs arent the enemy. Calories are. Ive lost 100 lbs cycling through keto, carnivore, and calorie counting. I lost a significant amount of muscle mass from keto and carnivore from not having glycogen from carbs and the fact that free testosterone plummets to the levels of an 80 year old man when youre in ketosis.
The 2nd law of thermodynamics will always apply. If you eat more calories than you burn, it doesn’t matter whether you ate carbs, fat, or protein….. all 3 will be converted to fat and stored. Carbs don’t magically make you store more fat. I could eat 1800 calories worth of donuts and ice cream in a day but ill still lose weight because my body burns 2500 calories a day. I may feel like garbage from the sugar high but everybody gets it wrong. Carbs arent the enemy. You need them if you exercise or lift weights. Refined sugars can be terrible but grains and fruits are amazing for you
The food pyramid makes a whole lot of sense if youre working out a lot and calorie counting. If you’re sedentary/refuse to exercise or diabetic then keto and carnivore should be your go-to
So wrong…carbs make you fat make you retain water and wreak havoc in the body spiking insulin
You are right on a few things but misled on others
It’s an uphill battle. I was the first in my family. Brought my mom and dad along recently thank God. My sister just gets angry when we talk to her about it.
Yep. Staying at a pretty liberal friend’s house. We just had a huge, delicious bbq meal. Brisket, ribs, sausage, turkey. And all her mom could say was “I’m sorry we haven’t been giving you vegetables! You need a vegetable in you!”
Screw vegetables, MEAT is the best for you!
@ptp949 Not really though. You can get everything from meat and eggs. You don’t even absorb 75% of whatever is in fruits and vegetables. Eat them occasionally but humans can easily be carnivores.
The food pyramid we have been always shown in Czech Republic is totally different. The vegetables and fruits are on the bottom and carbs (including bread) are at the top just below the snacks (chocolate, chips, candies etc.). I couldn't believe my eyes when I've seen this, I expected it to be the same.
Vegetables and fruit being the majority of your diet is not ideal either. I'd say it's even worse

@@robbo8074Even whole oats get converted to glucose in your body. There are no essential carbohydrates. Excess protein can also be converted into goucose if your body needs it, so why eat the grains?
@@BunE22 Firstly like i said someone who isn't very active doesn't need much but people who are active and exercise a lot absolutely need carbs, plus grains are a great source of fibre and contain protein so their conversion into glucose is much slower and play an important role in the human body. They act as an energy source, help control blood glucose and insulin metabolism, participate in cholesterol and triglyceride metabolism, and help with fermentation, also glycogen is stored in the muscles, the glycogen in your muscles can only be used by muscle cells. It is vital for use during long periods of high-intensity exercise, as someone who has been lifting weights and exercised for nearly 20 year's and tried every little diet their is in the last few year's I've kept quite high carbs even when dieting and feels the best I've ever felt, look great and regular blood work is always spot on, the best diet is a BALANCED diet, not overly consuming or neglecting and particular food group or macro, one of the functions of the body is to convert foods into glucose, fruits & veggies contain carbs yet are great food's to eat, the problem is when (glucose) sugar is put straight into the body
@@robbo8074 you might want to do a little more research on grains they are hard to digest contribute to inflammation and as far as oats they’re loaded with mycotoxins from how they are grown and stored so if you’re allergic to mold, I would highly advise you stay away from oats.

Probably them and big pharma. Fat people need more treatment.
Well, they are being sued by the FDA for calling their sludge “healthy,” so it’s safe to say they want unhealthiness to be regularized.
I hope those blows up because a month ago, I stopped eating added sugar and grains and I’m THRIVING. I was so addicted to carbs and I didn’t even KNOW it. I’m slowly seeing my inflammation reduce, my psoriasis went away and I haven’t had a headache in WEEKS. The Govt doesn’t care about your health, they care about their bottom line.
You got that right. I am 66 and use no pharmaceutical products - prescribed or over the counter for any reason whatsoever. I used to be morbidly obese according to two medical doctors. I used to have a fatty liver condition. I used to have pre-diabetic symptoms. I used to have edema - swelling in the feet and lower legs from excess fluids. That edema sometimes caused serious infections called cellulitis that would require hospital stays and intravenous antibiotics. I used to have COPD symptoms from decades of smoking. I used to have occasional high blood pressure and other chronic health problems for decades. All of these are gone. And they are gone because of intermittent fasting and eating high quality locally produced real foods.
For just over two years, i have been eating just one good meal every day that i prepare myself. I avoid sugars, all highly processed junk 'foods' and excessive carbs - no breads, cereals, pastas, etc. I am healthier and stronger than i was 10 years ago. It is almost like aging in reverse! Barring any serious injuries, there is no need to see any medical doctors. I have no plans to see any in the foreseeable future.

Carbs & grains are cheap & the most shelf stable -- no wonder why the US Dept of AGRICULTURE made it the most serving layer.

Americans will literally eat more meat than 90% of countries on earth and consume butter and oil with almost every meal and then blame carbs for their obesity... truly the least intelligent population on this planet, the amount of conspirationist turds on the comment section defending their moronic eating habbits in this video is astonishing.... yeah people are overweight because of too much bread ofcourse.....
Exactly
Another missing part of this is that it’s just not grains by themselves that are bad. It’s also the constant consumption of wheat sprayed with glyphosate pesticide. This creates problems with intestinal bacteria and induces non alcoholic fatty liver. And when a person has fatty liver their metabolism suffers greatly.
High fructose corn syrup is probably the biggest culprit for non-alcoholic fatty live disease. It's in almost everything processed. Ketchup, pancake syrups, grain based products, read labels in a grocery store. It's disgusting. Why is it that soda sold in the US has HFCS but the same soda sold in other countries still has table sugar? I gave up soda a long time ago.
No. Grains are frankenfood. They contain more naturally occurring toxins and antinutrients that cause more damage than roundup ever could.
They are just entertainment not nutrition because they have very little in that respect.
Keep up the great work!
I hope your channel sticks around and starts posting more often.
This is why you need to get big business out of government.
This channel is absolutely mesmerizing. I love your videos so much. As educational as they are entertaining.
Most timely and needed video of the day for me! Shame on the greedy politicians and their awfully gullible consumers too;seemingly educated lot taken for death ride, wittingly, minimal resistance, if any!
Hi Kim I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this compliment. Been doing keto for a bit (type 2 runs on both sides so less carbs/sugar/crap the better) and it’s the best I felt in a while. Now I look forward to working out. Nice to wake up not bloated from water retention from eating carbs. Abs are getting more visible. I don’t know how people don’t like eating healthy, it was what we’re supposed to consume not hot Cheetos and little ceasers. So many people say “if only healthy food taste good” like what do you think healthy food is? Tofu? Same people probably think water is boring. There blood must be straight sugar because there’s no way drinking water should taste “boring”. All that red 40 ruin they’re taste Bud 😂
Water is refreshing and taste amazing once your withdrawals from craving that sugary juice/soda resign.

The fact that it’s shaped as a pyramid should alert you enough 😂
If I google "Food Pyramid" nowadays, I get mostly results that coincide with Luise's original propositions. Placing Processed Grains, Sugary food and such very much at the tiny tip. It's funny to see the USDA's slow backtrack towards a more reasonable food guide. Look at the 2005-2011 USDA Food Pyramid. It's fucking confusing. It's as if they went "Oopsie!" but instead of releasing a new, understandable guide, they released that schlock. I do wish the Wikipedia page for Food Pyramid would change its top image, because it shows the original 90s version, which is the one from the beginning of this video.
Fortunately, Harvard's food pyramid is next in line, and even shows up first if you use Image Search!!

I cut out most of my carb intake like 5 years ago. I lost about 70lbs my first year. My anxiety and depression went away, I have way more energy, and I have way better focus. My brain doesn't feel like it's in 10 places at once. I'm 33 now and I feel better than I did when I was 16.
Everyone in the FDA should be in prison.
I stopped drinking tap water and now drink only spring water or distilled and life is great!
@@PeaceKeepingMissileme too. I don't drink tap water.
Shameless money gang
Many Keto/Carnivore have the same experience when cutting carbs.
@@chrism746 I went carnivore 9 months ago never felt better, lost 40 lbs and bad face acne finally disappeared after 20 years
I am an American who does a lot of international travel, and every time I come back to the US from being abroad, whether it's Europe or Asia or South America or wherever, it's really noticeable how much more fat the people are in the United States. It's quite stunning actually
because we have more money to buy extra calories......
@@nathanbond8165 That's not true at all. If you did any traveling, you'd see that the American diet is crap compared to a lot of other regions of the world. The food quality, and the eating habits are very very poor in the United States. Americans eat insane amounts of bad food, and they don't exercise enough. That's the bottom line
@@gregputman ?????????? ok you read a lot into my very short comment!!!!
@@nathanbond8165 Well yeah how can you not read much into your simple statement. You basically said the reason Americans are so fat. It's because they have more money to spend on food.
@@gregputman yeah that's literally what I said and I stand by that statement you don't see a lot of fat Africans or Indians running around the world do you? Not a lot of obesity problems in third world countries you know why because they spend the vast majority of their income on food as opposed in highly Rich successful industrialized America we spend the least amount of our income on food there for Ergo we can and have the money to overeat calories everyday how is this a hard concept for you?
But grain is omnipresent in many of the world's healthiest societies - Italian pasta, noodles and buns in the Far East, rice and roti in India. I think Americans just eat too much food and rely far too heavily on cars over walking. Surely it's not rocket science
India isn't among "the world's healthiest societies"
Thank you, a wise comment
not to mention a good portion of Americans rely on fast food heavily. Their is no magic food that will make you healthy. In the u.s people like to blame something or someone but forget that they been eating too much take out.
Most grain is now GMO - " round up ready " which harms mammals digestion ( note 🎵
you & I are mammals ) Also, extra (subsidized ) grain was so abundant it was fed to animals , almost none of which would eat it as their natural diet ...they grew fat quickly but were slaughtered young so we didn't see the degenerative diseases we
( Who eat them )see in ourselves because they weren't around long enough to develop them....To cite what certain cultures ate for centuries in light of the MASSIVE changes that have occured in roughly ONE human lifetime is to ignore what is plainly before your closed eyes / minds ....
My Dad always says:
“If it’s in a bag or can. It’s not healthy.”
Your dad knew what he was talking about.
Govt. policy promoting crappy food and additives etc. doesn't happen in a vacuum. Midwestern politicians make the policy, which is the most profitable and convenient for midwestern farmers.
Did you know red meat is high in OMEGA 3's, even if it is grain-fed? But poultry and pigs that are fed a grain-fed diet are higher in omega 6's. This is because ruminant animals like cows have 4 stomachs and can process out the omega 6's, so pigs and poultry should be organic. Do you know why they fortify cereals and other grains? Because plants especially grains have anti-nutrients that will stop your body from absorbing the nutrients. Now why would our government and Big PHARMA Lie (Big Pharma makes our nutrient pyramid)? Well, GREED and big pharma likes the lie because the way they tell us how to eat makes us sick! When you are sick they put you on medications. The doctors that are smart know this but if they tell you this, then you will get healthy and will not need them anymore or the medications, and then nobody makes money! Just think about that... I know you probably think that saturated fat clogs arteries because you picture your kitchen drain being clogged by fats but that is not the way our body works. We need these healthy fats even cholesterol. Our hormones get transported by fat. Our brains are made of fat and cholesterol (although a medical article just came out saying Alzheimer's MAY be linked to a build-up of fat in the brain, trying to trick us). We make vitamin D from the fatty cholesterol that sits just under our skin and the sun starts the process of turning it into vitamin D. Now the seed oils are very toxic and cause inflammation. The seed oils get stored in our fat cells and it can take 2-3 years to get rid of them. Calories, no matter what you have been told do not count, it is the carbohydrates that count because they turn to glucose/sugar in your body and that is how they trick you into making you unhealthy so you will need to see a doctor and then they tell you that you need their medications. It is the seed oils, carbs, and sugar that are causing your weight gain, heart disease, inflammation, and diabetes. Are you seeing your doctor and on medications? Are you feeling and getting better? Did these medications cure the root of the problem? It took me 2 years to get over the fear they put into all these years to eat the fat on meat, even though the fats taste so good! Fear is how they control us to profit off of us.
When I was growing up in the 80's and 90's, vegetables were at the bottom of the pyramid, followed by meat, and THEN grain. Suddenly in the mid 90's, they put grain at the bottom. We suddenly have an obesity problem. A serving size is half cup. NEVER eat more than 6 servings of grain. Grain is grass. Equal parts lean meats and vegetation. Grain should only be 2 cups, as it is pure sugar. That is why everybody is so big now. We are over-eating grain, and under-eating leafy greens.
"We trust the SCIENCE guys"
Atkins knew and wrote of this years ago. But i doubt many people follow any food pyramid guidance regardless if good advice or not. Cheap junk food is everywhere you turn. We evolved over millions of years to survive starvation and now can't evolve fast enough to deal with the advancements in food technology.
Something similar actualy happened to the Canadian food guide, the guide was actualy sponsored by canadian milk farmers and told you to drink tons of milk. Thankfuly the food guide has since been changed.
I went from 94kg to 74kg in about 2.5month on carnivore diet.
A big part of that is because meat makes you feel full for longer so you eat less of it, vegetables do the same thing, it’s important to have a balance of both
@@logans3365 meats provide a lot of the nutrients you need except vitamin c
1kg of fat= 7700 calories
2.5months*30 days= 75 days
20kg/75days =.26kg a day
7700cal*.26kg=2053 calories daily deficit needed
A 2000 calorie deficit is massive. Like you wouldnt even be able to have 1 steak a day
Sorry to break it to you. You probably lost some fat, maybe 30% but the majority of it was glycogen and lean muscle mass. Its not mathematically possible otherwise
If you lose more than 1-2lbs(.5-1kg) a week, it’s definitely lean muscle mass and glycogen coming off. Pure fat is too calorie dense to be burned off that quickly
1 kg of muscle=1540 calories when your body becomes catabolic and consumes it for energy
Way lower than that 7700 per kg of fat
You can keep lean muscle mass from being burned by exercising and making sure you have enough protein, but this will make it much harder to not overeat as you will feel starved.
@@danielwang7472 the vitamins often come in different forms from meat-plants, it’s still important to get a balance of both for maximum health.
Plus fruits and veggies give you quick energy when you need it, you can’t eat a steak before going on a run or you will feel sluggish.
Its so funny how they tried to steer us Americans from better food for their gain but my parents (especially my mom) would always be like “eat 10 eggs a day, goat liver and bread are healthy, and milk with fruits or tea with nuts for the breakfast”
Tbh tho, when I saw the food pyramid as a kid at first, I always thought that’s the food we should eat not how much to eat. So I ended up getting grains, dairy, fatty meat, fruits, vegetables, dark chocolate, and water in equal amounts (except for the chocolate cause that was the treat)
Honestly this whole pyramid thing makes me laugh now that I major in agriculture and have studied nutrition within it
Do you remember what bread that was? Surely not sugary shite they sell as bread in supermarkets...
@@AKUJIVALDO no it was your good old fashioned wheat bread and pita bread
We were lied to and it cost us a lifetime of struggle, without ever winning, until now that the truth is out.

Great channel man, thank you for sharing the reality we're living with the food industry, everyone deserves to know it.
I have gluten sensitivity and i always wondered how our society became wheat obsessed, and its all about $$$ .
Everything we’ve been sold is a lie. EVERYTHING!
I remember being taught this in Europe as well. In the 2000s.
This is global stuff.
I grew up in the 80s and 90s, and I think all the time about how school taught us that we should be eating nearly a dozen slices of bread every day. For health!
I absolutely hate that a clip of "Dr." Neal Barnard is included in this video, ironically in a section dealing with "lies and propaganda" since he is a huge pusher of lies and propaganda and espouses an all plant-based diet, which is 100% unsustainable and requires supplementation to prevent nutrient-deficiency, and also asserts that saturated fat causes diabetes.
Barnard is the very last person I would ever listen to for information regarding nutrition.
How healthy a food is also varies from person to person. You can make dna and blood tests to see how your body handles fats, proteins or carbs, and then shape your diet around that. For example in case of my mother it turns out her body doesn't handle carbs too well. Hence, she changed her diet to have less carbs but more fats and protein instead. She lost 40 pounds already, even though she eats as often and as much as before while doing no sports at all.
She sounds like myself and daughter. She was diagnosed insulin resistant and we changed diet and try to stick to GI index because of it measuring the sugar spikes from foods. I thought things like cream crackers being low in calorie were good but always felt like I needed more or a biscuit and then found out they’re quite high on GI index. Both of us have dropped lots of weight but are eating more and healthier- win win. I have no IBS now and no skin tags (with PCOS) a common symptom of insulin resistance.
Blood type diet. I bet she is type o blood. We can't handle wheat, dairy, and potatoes. Like poison to us over time.
Same. Are you my child? 😂
Today, the farmers are not powerful anymore, since their number has decreased enormously.
i hate the people who rejected the original food pyrimad
god bless Luise's heart, she should get week long holiday.
Respect! These people need to be held accountable!
Wauw, this Ground News is what is needed in these times.
And yet the "trust the science" people wonder why some folks are reluctant to do so...
Can't help but notice that they've shifted into telling you that meats are bad for the environment and that you need to start insects.
If you have the government hired executives from private companies dealing in food industries, what do you think will be their priorities? 7:33 Health or profits? Soy beans are not being used as food during the 70’s but for cleaning the soil before planting the main crops. Then they found out they can feed this soy to pigs and other animals and then lately to humans. What a profit!
I hate that those shots of fast food make me crave it.
thats what its supposed to do. #Carnivorediet is the way!
Try some discipline I know it's hard and I'm hungry too but we can do it
The food pyramid consists of 3 levels. Twinkies, Beer & Frozen Pizza.
I gradually lost 50 lbs over two years by limiting my intake of carbohydrates. Proteins and vegetables did the trick.
I remember as an elementary school kid looking at the food pyramid and eating 1serving grains and and seeing the recommended servings per day and thinking how can I eat all that. And then wondering what benefit could that possibly have
about time i went keto seven months ago and dropped all my weight and lost all my illness. We need to stop processed food and grain and corn etc. No suger. I eat only meat veg and no sugar and no bread and it works.
I immediately know to stop listening to anyone about nutrition whenever they say 🤪 “breakfast is the most important meal of the day!” Funny how everyone that says that is about 40-80lbs overweight.
A healthy population would be the greatest thing for everyone. The gov. are just so regressive, as they want $$$.
Nowadays everybody knows what to eat pretty much. But there's still a lot of people that don't pay attention they just eat whatever and that's the majority of them but there's still a lot of us that watch everything. All that food in the grocery store is poison 😮😮😮😮😮
I hate the government 😡
As an American, the avg American is carrying waaaaaaayyyyyyy more than an extra 23lbs. That's more like a minimum.
