Do I have to leave in the SD card after its been updated if I want to shoot pictures? Or can I take it out and use my other Sd card?

Once it’s updated you can use the card for anything. It’s just used initially to give the camera the new files.

Less than 10 minutes. Most likely 5 minutes. I just did mine and it was 5 min.
