Good idea on using a screw to remove the H/L screw cap. Also, you can use a small drill bit, heat it up with a lighter for about 25 seconds. Hot drill bit will melt the plastic while drilling, had great success doing it that way (on SRM 210 and SRM 225)
Thank You, It Maybe Was My Problem But I Was Missing The White Plastic On The Black Tube.. I Still Removed The Gold Screw & Your Method With The Jamming A Screw Worked WELL !! Thanks So Much...My Weedeater Is Running Much Better
This helped me figure out my issue. My carburetor gasket was blown so I need a whole new carburetor and a carburetor gasket. My carburetor is dirty and I don’t have the gas primer
I appreciate you for the content it's it's pathetic how Echo does this so this minor tweaks to prevent us from working on them so they could just tell us another new carp just another marketing scam from Echo
Believe it or not … some of em you can actually turn the little brass piece and adjust it … that’s why it kinda weird to me when I see everyone doing the brass removal 🤷🏽♂️
I turned it counter clockwise just about a quarter turn, and it was trial and error from there. I did return it to the original position in between every adjustment, fyi.
Thanks man! Hey, once you got the gold grommet out, did you adjust that inner piece clockwise or counter clockwise please? Thank you kindly. I only want to take it apart once with my handheld T20 Torx. 👍
No problem brudda! I had to play around with it but I moved it clockwise first. Once the grommet is out you can adjust the idle/torque with the weedeater fully assembled; you'll need to to get it just where you want it.
Dude, I would have loved to see the rest of the video but I can't hear you and I turned up the volume all the way and the camera work is not good at all. Bummer cuz I really needed to learn what's going on with mine.

It was good when it works but I’m in my backyard by my shed I can’t get the stupid thing going I don’t have many miles on it. I’m at how many times I pull it and follow the directions for priming pumping it won’t start. Who wants to buy a new echo weed wackier and then take it apart?
@@cubehire3653I have an SRM 225 that is almost 4 years old and has never had an issue. The usual 2-stroke issues come to mind: bad gas, allowed to sit with gas in the tank for too long, spark arrestor or muffler clogged, piston scored, etc. The warranty is five years for homeowner use, so if you haven't done anything to void the warranty and are still in the warranty period, you might try pursuing a warranty claim.

Still "gassing" it up or no? I bought a little cheap Kobalt battery operated to play around with. I'm not mad at the performance. I can only imagine the enhanced performance of an Echo or Milwaukee!
@@maymow7077 The 7 year old Echo PAS225 runs a bit poorly these days even after a carb replacement, but gets the job done cutting the weeds on my quarter acre property. I experimented with an EGO 56V "commercial" rear motor trimmer. Tons of instant torque, but a runtime of 20 minutes made me return it. Would've had to recharge it 3 or 4 times on a property this big or buy additional batteries at $300 each.
You needed to go back and at least point at what you were adjusting! We pulled the brass plug to access the adjustment screw, is that what you adjusted? That’s probably a mixture screw, did you adjust mixture or actually the choke as you stated? Thanks for your effort to share while trying to run your business!
So annoying guys that piping music so you can’t hear what he’s saying. Also my Weedwhacker is less than a year old I wanna take it apart like I want to hole in my head.

No sir. I will only when it's absolutely necessary, just like with my vehicles.
What was that drill bit size you used
My first time here and liked your video. I have an olderECHO trimmer that the flywheel magnets went dead. Do you know if they can be magnetizid again?
I've only been taught to fully replace them. maybe they can be sent off but it seems it would be easier to buy the fairly inexpensive part.
I appreciate you for the content it's it's pathetic how Echo does this so this minor tweaks to prevent us from working on them so they could just tell us another new carp just another marketing scam from Echo
Unfortunately, you probably have a big point my friend. Thanks for watching though, I really appreciate it!
It's the EPA requiring them to do this.
So you turned that adjuster screw? How u know how much to turn it? Clock wise? Or counter clockwise?
Sorry so late hermano. When clockwise, it increases the idle.
Works on srm-266?
Nice house you got cutting yards
Among other things... Thanks!
The carb looks clean, did you use a carb choke cleaner to blow out the passages?
I'm confused on the purpose of the grommet within the carburetor. What does that part do for it.
Believe it or not … some of em you can actually turn the little brass piece and adjust it … that’s why it kinda weird to me when I see everyone doing the brass removal 🤷🏽♂️

What did ya do with the adjustment screw loosen it up or tighten it up?
