Finally found a ballet dancer who admits they just slap on a pad and call it a day. Like this makes me feel sooo much better
Yaassss
Meeee
Be Happy I do the same😹
but do u wear underwear or do u just slap it on the leo
ashley lang truuueeeee
Thank goodness it’s not just me who hates tampons 😅
mango tea that’s exactly what I thought when she said that
Me tooooooooo!!
OMG, I thought I was the only one!! I’ve always wanted to try to transition to tampons but I could never do it.
Same girl
I haven’t had to try them yet
no one:
Mackenzie: does ASMR with a menstrual cup
Yeah, BEST ASMR VIDEO EVER !!!😂😂😂😂😂. Seriously, I have a great deal of respect for her for having the guts to do this on camera.
I hate tampons too
as a dancer, im glad im not the only dancer that hates them!
Me too I hate tampons but soo glad their or people who feel the same
I can always.. *f e e l* them. Ik it’s my fault not the product but still
I am a dancer too and I also hate tampons. Luckily I dance Hiphop where it is pretty easy to hide a pad 😊 Just know it is ok to use whatever you want 😊
Rineon I’m fine with tampons lol
Catlista 7 you need to push them in further and then you won’t feel them. Also insert at an angle ofc
I tried the smallest size of diva cup and it got stuck and my mom had to take it out for me, MY MOM TOOK OUT MY DIVA CUP. It wasn’t awkward for her because she’s a nurse so she sees that everyday but omg it was v uncomfortable for me
I can imagine
to get it out easily, you just need to pull it a little bit out and then PRESS THE BRIM of the cup with your finger. It will relieve the pressure and it will slide down immidiatelly :)
Omg girl hahah so sorry for you
You need to fold it back
My mom had to put a tampon in me cuz I didn’t know how to do it and I was on a cruise 😭😭
Kenzie, You are to be highly respected and congratulated on handling a topic which is quite awkward for most girls and Handling it in a very candid way. I'm sure there are A number of girls that greatly appreciate you doing this.
If anyone wonders why I have any interest, any man who has a wife and/or daughters get benefit by knowing this.
And I agree with the other viewer about the panty liner. This just good insurance.
Ronald Mills good on you dude. All men should be taught about periods and how to handle them. I think it is very important that we make it less of a taboo subject.
Ronald Mills watch Just Sharon she's the same way!
Wtf? Redhead ballet dancer Mackenzie Davis does NOT have periods and never has periods because she is biologically male and has male genitals. In fact, redhead ballet dancer Mackenzie Davis’s feet grew 4 sizes bigger from ages 12 to 15 since she is biologically male. Redhead ballet dancer Mackenzie Davis’s feet stopped growing when she was 17 years old since she is biologically male. It is almost impossible for biological females for their feet to grow 4 sizes bigger from ages 12 to 15. Redhead ballet dancer Mackenzie Davis really needs to wear a dance belt under her tights and leotard. 🎭🩰🎨
The menstrual cup didn’t opened inside to me neither, and happened to a friend too, so she buy a rigid one and it worked
omg i have never met someone with the sme name as me
Mine didn’t the first couple times, but after messing around with it and adjusting it a bit more it will open up. Sometimes I still have trouble getting it to open and I’ve been using it for two years 😅
Tr
Try slightly turning it next time
@@ashtamarie7561 You may need a different cup. The first one I bought would leak and collapse on me and would not pop open. I took a quiz that recommended 3 different cups that would work for me and my body. It has been amazing! My new cup is way more comfortable, it never leaks, and it pops open right away without me having to mess with it for several minutes. Just google menstrual cup quiz and see if a different shape/brand would work better for you!
So, a few things:
1. Be careful with extremely cheap brands. Most of them are made of unsafe material and it can be really bad for you. I don't know this brand, so I can't tell you if it's a good one or not, but I think it would be nice to do some research to find out if you can trust it. If not, as you liked it that much, there are tons of different brands that are reliable.
2. If the cup is not opening or if you are having problems with leakings, try a different fold. There aren't just two. You will find many of them online. I personally use the half diamond because, as it is folded to the outside, it's easy to push the folded part up so it will open.
3. The cup can't get lost, but it can get too far for you to reach, if you have a really high cervix. If that happens, you have to birth it. Just push and it will come down. If it is too hard, squat because that will get your cervix to come down and therefore your cup.
4. You are not supposed to feel it. If you are feeling it, it's probably placed wrongly. Try taking it out and putting back again, try different ways to fold it... It can be hard in the beginning. But there is a big chance that it will leak if you are feeling it because there probably is no vacuum. If you can't get it right by no means, you may need to change your cups. There are really many kinds of cups. There are hard and soft cups, tall and short, small and big. There are some things that can indicate which kind yours is, but it's not that obvious and, eventually, it becomes trial and error. It's sad because they are a little bit expensive, but, once you find the one for you, you will have it for a long time. And many times you will get it right in the first trial, so let's just hope that is the case.
5. People with a low cervix can definitely wear it. I don't know about other brands, but I know Meluna has a whole collection for short cups. You will probably have to clean it more often, but you can still use it. I haven't tested it yet, but I've heard a lot of people with a low cervix saying that the menstrual disc fits them better because it has a different shape, so it can hold more blood even if it is short.
6. There are some really small cups, so maybe that would be a good idea for younger people. I think the first time will always be weird, regardless of your age or body, but you will get used to it. There is nothing that says that someone who is old enough to have their periods isn't old enough to wear a menstrual cup.
I'm happy you liked it. It was life-changing for me. There are so many advantages of having one, especially if you are a dancer or do anything that requires you to move a lot. I am really glad to see young women talking so freely about periods. It's so important to make this conversation normal. Congratulations!
Larsen D. I’m glad to hear that! The cup was life changing to me, so I hope it can also help other people.
The June cup is pretty good brand it’s just they were having a sale because of COVID
@@juda8052 I haven't heard about it. That's why I told her it would be nice to research. There are good cups that are cheap. But it's always important to make some research about the brand before buying it.
June cup is made of medical grade silicone. They are usually $29 but are currently on sale for $6 to make it more accessible to people that may not be able to afford it during COVID. (:
@@funnycatzz123 That's awesome!!!
I use period underwear, but i use the small ones so they dont peek out under my leo. We really need to bring awareness to the amount of waste we produce on our periods, so any alternative, mestrual cups, cotton pads, period underwear ect, make a massive impact.
Bella Crafts same!
Bella crafts I know like the sole purpose of period underwear is to absorb the blood and prevent leaking but does it ever leak? Or just makes a little stain on pants? Lol you don't have to answer them because i can just ask someone else but if you do thanks 🙂💀
Kaawtharrr yes sometimes , mostly if it isn’t sitting properly
I use the swimwear modibodi in black for dancing as I wear a black leo and I had them already, they work great

"Wow this was really helpful"
honestly menstrual cups are LIFE CHANGING
imnotaimee súper agree with you
until you faint while putting it in🤦🏼♀️
Yeees i love them so much 😍
Yuuuuup, once you get the hang of it, it's the best fricking thing ever!!
Good to know!
i've always wanted to try this but i'm terrified and it's so inconvenient at intensives and long days to constantly change tampons and stuff every 4 hours or so so now hearing another opinion of it i think i'll try it!
If you go to the website "put a cup in it" they have a quiz you can take to help you find one that will work well for you! Not all cups are created equal. Everyone's anatomy is a little different, but luckily the industry has a lot of variety. Good luck! I think you'll really love it!
It really changed my life . Try it and don't be terrified! Just play around, first it takes its time but you get it!

I've used the cup for like three years and trust me it takes a month or two to get the hang of it and to avoid leaking and to insert it quicker and better, but I'm glad I switched to using it
i wanna try it but i’m scared i won’t be able to take it off haha 😭 also my mom doesn’t trust it
just tell her ur scared of getting TSS from tampons and that you can’t get it from the cup! (unless you leave it in for days which i don’t think anyone would do lol)
There's a lot of helpful videos on yt, where they give tips how to easly remove the cup 😊 It's easier when you use your muscles and push
Information is power. Study about this topic as much as you can to have an open conversation with your mother to show her how safe it is, if you are using a brand that can be trusted and use it taking all the hygiene measures. And don't worry about not being able to take it off. It won't get stuck. If you can't reach it, you have to sort of birth it. If it's too hard, you can squat and your cervix will come down and bring the cup with you. There are some nice tips on youtube.
cammie fuller we hate tampons haha. that’s why i’m afraid because i’ve never stuck anything in there so i’m kinda inexperienced on that topic
Nathalia Katsivalis tyyyyy. i’m planning on ordering one just to try it and see whats up. i always have fabric pads if something goes wrong haha💗
I’m on my period right now. I’m so glad to be doing classes at home since the bathroom is easily accessible and no one can tell me I can’t go. I can also spend as long as I want there and life is so much more comfortable.
That was really the best thing when the school was closed that you don't have to worry about ur periods that much (In Finland our school opened again few weeks before the summer break started (and i was on my period on the first day of school :D))

as a dancer, i don’t mind tampons, but i’d love to try a menstrual cup as a better alternative for the environment. after all, i do advocate for a greener earth being vegan and all. might have to try this out. thanks for the review!
Hi, Yes, it definitely is. I went to a beach once and there were hundreds of applicators washed up. Yuk! So what`s stopping you from using a cup? It really is easy once you get used to it. Don`t forget, as a dancer you will need a firm cup. I know one girl, age 12, who keeps her cup hidden in an old sock so her Mom would not find it, as her Mom said she was too young to use one. However, Mom was not right. She loves her cup and uses nothing else!
Here’s a tip that probably a lot of people know but in case you don’t keep reading
Wear I liner with the cup (or tampon ) that way in case it leaks it won’t be as bad
I’ve only ever used tampons ever since I was 12 😅 I used pads for the first 3 days if my very first period but I hated them too much. But now I kinda want to try a menstrual cup tbh, it looks like a more environmentally friendly alternative!
"It's no bueno anymore" fue muy tierno, so cute
Minuto??
This is it. This is the final piece of information I needed to convince me to order my cup!
Why is Kenzies hair so pretty

I've been using menstrual cups for YEARS! I swear by them. I find that, in the beginning, it was a little leaky and uncomfy. But once you get used to it, it's amazing. It's been 5 years of using them now and I never leak. I pretty much put it in and forget about my period. I do world class competitive color guard, which involves a lot of ballet and modern dance. And it has saved my LIFE during competition season and long 12-hour rehearsal days.
Which brand

There is a whole community for cups. “PutACupInIt”is on RUclips and Facebook and there is loads of useful advice for new users. Also there are several cups out there for people with a low cervix 😊
the fact the cup lasts for ten hours has me shook. Little TMI here, but i hope it would work for a person with a heavier flow such as myself. Might try it if you had such a good expirience tho!
That confused me too cause it looks too small to hold ten hours worth of bleeding...
@@emiliagrace5043 It depend on the flow really. With a heavy flow, i change about every 4-5 hours, but the last day its okay after 12 hours...

Some small recommendations for the cup: take a more rigid one so it can "open" more easily and wet it with water to make it fit better ❤️The cup is a good alternative but it can be confusing at first because you have to be comfortable with the idea of putting your fingers inside your "intimacy" but at the end we get used to it and we feel more comfortable ❤️ Thank you for making this video, it will helps a lot of dancers ❤️

This is so weird. The menstrual cups in your country are MAJORLY overpriced in your country. My country has menstrual cups of the same or even better quality at max 3-7$. Super sad to see something as important as menstrual cups being overpriced and I live in a much lesser developed country.
3-7$??? That would make it so much easier for some people to get better products, the ones I mostly see are on average 10-20... sometimes even more
Greediness… everyone looks at making a penny off of it, It’s fixing to be a billion dollar business. They take advantage of women and brainwash them by comparing to cost of tampons and maxis throughout the year so they make you think you’re getting a good deal paying $25…. I know, it’s pretty sad, terrible.
Some have to get a few different sizes to try so a woman can end up spending $50-$60 :(

I hate pads SO much! Me and tampons...were friends, but we don’t talk a lot. I really hope that I can use it and it turns out ok. I want to be able to use it for school. (I’m a junior in high school) I REALLY hate going to school with a pad on with jeans or going to school with a tampon and having to worry all the time if I leak or if I will be able to change it. Hopefully my plan will work out when it gets here.
The learning curve with menstrual cups is quite steep, but it's worth it! I've learned so much about my body once I switched to cups. I used 2 cups before I found that the lily cup works best for my body. I have a high cervix, so I don't have to bear down that much to reach it.
Helpful. I bought one already and I'm going there. I hate waste and damaging the planet.
I just bought mine 🥳
hi mackenzie! i know this video is old but im also a dancer and i started using a menstrual cup last year. i love it bc it doesn't leak at all for me anymore, but the thing is there is a learning curve for this. it takes a few cycles to really get the hang of it. i know you said you could feel it, this probably means you had it too low in your body, but you also said you thought you had it too high so it might've been okay. also you said you were scared because the stem of the cup was fully inside your body. this is how it should be, it should not hang out like a tampon string, because the stem is stiffer, it would be very uncomfortable if it did stick out. i know you said it moved up further throughout the day, and id say this is normal for me too, i think it's better for me when it goes further up because then i really can't feel it. also you said (jokingly) you were scared of tss, but tss is extremely rare with menstrual cups and i would consider them 100% safer than tampons. im so glad you enjoyed your experience with your cup! it has made a huge difference in my life and im glad you were willing to try something new. you probably already know everything i just said now, so maybe this advice is for any other dancers who are thinking of using a cup. i agree with your comment about younger girls trying to use a cup because i remember trying my cup when i was younger like 13 or 14 and i was not able to use it properly because i couldn't open it but when i tried again when i was 16/17 i got it right and i was so glad i did.
I went from pads to a diva cup!! I hate tampons as well, but the way the cup can be wet a bit before insertion helps so much and doesn’t hurt like tampons! Best decision for me and environmentally :)
this is a great video because I also just got my June cup and I've tried twice to practice Inserting it before my period comes again but it's too uncomfortable so I'll have to wait but seeing your positive experience with it makes me more hopeful about mine.
I just wanna say that u r an AMAZING dancer and I really appreciate your dancing ❤️❤️❤️
I love my cup , I used to wear a pad but it saves you so much money , and it can last more than 15 years so you’ll ave so much money !!!!! It’s a life saver
A quick tip for all dancers out there who are thinking about getting a cup: dance is a sport that particularly trains the pelvic floor muscles which results in the vaginal canal being more muscular and thinner. That makes it harder for soft cups to open, so it is recommended to use a cup made of harder silicon so it can press against the muscles strongly enough to ensure it will open completely and to prevent any leaking. Just thought I'd let you know, hope it helped you :)
I love ur vids so much!!
Thank you!!
dancingwithmackenzie u are such an amazing dancer! I’m thinking of starting ballet again (I’ve taken a break for a year) and because of your vids I’m finally motivated to start taking classes again!! Thank you so much 💖😊😊

8:11 😂😂 that was the best part
MAD MAX!! IS THAT YOU!!!
has anyone tried to use a menstrual cup before having sex for the first time? i would really appreciate it if anybody shared their story. also, ty Mackenzie for your openness! i love this kind of videos where people are not afraid to talk on such important topics.
I haven’t but I think you’re fine to try it. You might get a little extra bleeding but if you’re on your period it doesn’t make too much of a difference lol. I’d ask a doctor or parent to be safe though
If youre a dancer it wont matter. Because dancing and doing splits ect it stretches and relaxes the muscles anyway, so youll be uncomfortable, but you wont do any damage.
chiara thanks for advice!
Bella Crafts thank you but unfortunately i am not a dancer, just a random person who enjoys Mackenzie's videos.
@@namari5903 guess it's time to teach yourself splits 😂
4:21 I was yelling at the video "it's too looooooooow" i know the pain 😂
It works with a tilted uterus as well, just a bit trickier to put it in :)
thank you so much for this video
I’m so glad I don’t have my period yet!!!!
Same though!
Enjoy it while it lasts
I'm also a dancer and I use a menstrual cup. I never had problems with them, you just have to get a good seal. If you're having problems knowing if there's a seal, pull it down. If it feels like you're pulling out your insides when you pull down, it's in right. But if you can feel it just in you, you probably put it in wrong. There are also a ton of different folds you can use.
Had one for 5 yrs swear by it. Give a small squeeze to release suction whilst gently pulling no pain.
To me dancing in a tampon always seemed more comfortable than a pad. I’m always scared to move because like you said the pad isn’t flexible enough to move with you. I honestly might have to give that cup a try after hearing you talk about it like it sounded too good to be true at first but now😗we might just take a look
Girls: *understanding*
Boys : *👁️👄👁️* what is this
I’m soon 13 and I got my period for about 6 months ago but I hated pads and was scared to try tampon so I bought the organic one for teens and it has worked so well for me with an heavy Flo but it was hard the get it out the first times but and sometimes to make it open up but I rlly love it and it has helped me a lot🦋
