I was taken back by the way nobody cheered for Slick Rick. But, not really surprised. I've only met one other person that even knew about him. Granted, I am from eastern KY, so that definitely plays a big role in that.
Doug E Fresh and Slick Rick has a rap that every other rap artist has copied in one way or another. I'm glad I knew who Slick Rick was love his smooth flows.
Slick Rick really was a legend in the rap game. Without Slick Rick, we probably wouldn't even have Snoop or Wiz.
I saw Rick like 2 years ago at a show in CT with a bunch of other old school acts. Slick Rick was the single worst performance of any style of music that I’ve ever seen live. It was embarrassing! After 3 songs, the whole crowd was sitting down...he’s up there “say Go Slick, Go Slick Rick Go!!!” And nobody in the crowd is saying it. LOL😂

No it isn't just about what you are saying, it's about how you present it.
2pac was great but sadly his career was pretty short, he may have done some great musics during his short career but we never know how he would turn up to be, we only got to see him at his peak so it's kinda not even fair to rappers who had great careers of many many years. Not saying that 2pac isn't of the greatests, of course he is, but it's just not very fair or accurate to say he's the best.
