In this video I take my 2023 BMW M1000rr to the dealership to try to resolve a suspension issues. HUGE shout out to Euro Cycles of Tampa Bay (Tampa Bay Motos) for taking care of me. Unfortunately, we replaced the rear shock twice and I am still having the same issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the shock might not be compressing straight because something might have a small bend in it. it might be compressing slightly sideways and causing some friction and cutting the seal from more pressure to one side of the shock.
The bro is too heavy
Same here. Which means it’s not mounted straight.
@@Super-Bike-Joea BIMA of 40k damn bro🤬 what a shame i will go to a track day of that Brand end of the month that's crazy...
It's a known issue with the shock on these bikes. Lots of owners having the same issue.
Even the BMW tech in the video said, if you put ohlins you won't have these issues again lol so even he knows they complete junk. Hope someone don't crash too hard from this.
@@pomplardpanam8591I agree, it need to set up for is weight
At $40K they should be picking your bike up and then delivering it back to your garage. Why aren't you calling out BMW for their nonsense?
Agreed.

Bro out here living his best life and I'm here for it. Road to 1 million.
Multiple creators have had major issues with their S1K and M1K's.
Less than 15k miles a blown $1900 shock then again in 40 miles is insane
Yup, ive seen multiple blown engines under 1k miles too
It 's 3 shocks in a row that failed on this bike alone already. They just gonna say put another one in and hope for the best? bunch of muppets at BMW

I went for the Ducati Streetfighter over the S1000R. One of the big reasons was the stock equipment on the Ducati. Ohlins electronic suspension, Brembo brakes, Marchesini wheels.
Wouldn’t have that problem with the Japanese bikes(CBR,R1), either way hope you get it fixed and everything turns out good. Ride safe 🤙🏾
have seen to many vids now on the unreliability of BMW. its fine that they continue to replace the shock under warranty but clearly there's a huge problem with the part. nothing mentioned about the inconvenience of having to keep bringing the bike back after dropping $40k. my time is worth more than the jacket and what happening if the shock totally collapses when you're pushing it at 100+?? I ride all Ninja ZX's and H2 and just haven't had the reliability issues and spent less. was seriously looking at M1k or S1k last year but all the bad press turned me str8 off 🤷♂
Las japonesas siempre serán las mejores, las más fiables, he tenido Dos Suzuki, una Yamaha y ahora una Honda y sigo feliz en mis 35 años con motos japonesas 👍
I had the same problem on mine
I’m in U.K. I had bmw replace that shock 4 times and still got the bounce affect and leaking
In the end they upgraded my suspension for free problem solved , they could not work it out , now I have no issues. Bike is still under warranty
Upgrade to what?
I'm not ok with spending $40k and bring it back 4 times for any part let alone the same part
@@larryatromitos4484 I totally agree but it was done for free for the inconvenience
@@warriorlifexxx619 What suspension did they put on?

i knew BMW was in trouble when they started charging a subscription for heated seats and remote start. they had to save money somewhere reminds me of GM early 2000's.
10:11 Bro the Street Triple is awesome, gas gauge, comfortable seat position, and a quick shifter.
I got that jacket the same week they released, love it BUT! Be careful w that jacket when tucking. I scratched the hell out of the tank with the zipper, so either get the tank grip or take it to the tailors and get a piece of leather sewed to cover the zipper.
Imagine spending $40k on a bike that's been spec'd out with budget components. What a scam.
BMW tech: putting Ohlins on the bike means you'll never have that issue again.
That's another way of saying the issue is definitely the BMW shocks are absolute unreliable garbage and there is no other solution other than to keep putting a new one on until you get lucky and end up with one that doesn't fail for no reason... well at least until after the warranty ends...
After 3 in a row fail, it's clearly a massive issue. So how are you supposed to trust it? How are you supposed to feel safe riding this bike as it's designed to be ridden knowing the shock will likely fail at any moment, which realistically could have fatal consequences? At what point should BMW be issuing a safety recall?
You're right
This is 100% right, how does BMW just keep saying to put another one in and hope that when it fails again you're not going round a corner at 100mph or it leaks oil on the rear wheel and then what? It's clearly a known risk and they just keep doing this? BMW should be issuing a safety recall and swapping out the shocks on all these bikes with a different brand. Even the ones that haven't failed YET. or providing a credit for customers to install an aftermarket shock. But they won't because they're a sad bunch of greedy, morally bankrupt muppets.
Risking people's lives over a couple hundred nuts on a $40k bike tells me all I need to know about this company. Defined by their own response to the issues they face. The shock is clearly not fit for purpose.
Fast Lane D it's time to start turning the pressure up on this, other people have had these exact same issues, no point being nice and understanding towards a company that cares more about their profits than your safety.
ru effin kidding??..recommending spending even more $$ bc your product isn' reliable?? wtf??
I wish I could say I had the same level of trust for their service that you do. I purchased a new BMW from them last year. I wasn't aware until after I got it home to Orlando that the bike had sustained damage and was not disclosed to me. When I pressed for more information, all I got was a half-hearted apology and no effort to make the situation right. Needless to say, they're not touching my bike. I go to their sister store in Daytona instead.
WTF???
@CROTCH_ROCKET_JOE Just telling my experience. I feel like other potential customers should be informed.
Did you ask them to refund or anything? if they already demonstrated where their priorities were it's pretty unlikely they're suddenly going to do the right thing unless you push the point. They is what they is.
@@__Max-oe6zm After the initial conversations it was clear it wasn't going to go any further. Sure I could raise hell, but in the end I doubt it would have changed the situation. I look at it this way... I voiced my concerns directly to them. If they wanted to make the situation better, then they could have, but here we are nearly a year later and I've had no outreach and and I don't expect it at this point. I'm not an influencer so to them I'm just a case to sweep under the rug. With all that said what I will continue to do is inform others who may be looking to purchase a bike from them. Other's experience may be different and hopefully better than mine.

It's crazy how a problem with the shock on the beamer made everyone turn against it. Like, yes, it's terrible that this is happening on a 40k bike, but sometimes, shit happens. Doesn't mean it's not a great bike. I'd say it's still my favourite of the fleet. Plus, if you're buying a BMW, you know what you are getting into.
40k and 3 shocks later! Nope. Trade it in while you still can. 🍋 law it? Just think how many times that shock has been compromised, and you’re riding it hard! Basically all the miles on the bike. That’s a huge safety nope for me. Either Olin’s, or trade it in/sell it. Would be hard to trust another BMW shock after all this! Best wishes man.

Ohlins. Just get the best and you won't have any worries or regrets! I always had the impression that BMW was super reliable because they are German but I guess not.
Being a bigger, not a fat guy like myself. I'm 6'5", and at the time when I was getting my suspension set up on my bike I was about 250-260 with all my gear on and I was told that I'm probably going to need to put a bigger spring on the back shock because of how much i weighed but I got back in the gym full force and dropped down to 220 with all my gear on and that helped drastically with how the bike feels. What I'm trying to say that maybe you're a bit too heavy for that spring in the back and that is the cause of the shock blowing out. Or maybe bmw should've put ohlins suspension on a 40k bike 🤷♂️
If that shock cant handle 250 lbs then thats a concern. Especially for 2k dollars

@@jpapss I'm not sure if it's a 'race thing' as much as it might be "perceived" as a race thing. Everyone has a different lens that they look through when reading these comments...
CaliMoto had his M1000R literally blow up on him(his rod shot a hole straight through his engine) while on the race track and his bike was already broken in with the 600 mile service already being done and everything. Manny, over at Motomillion may have done some 'premature' things before his bike blew up on him; but Calimoto followed things to the book and his bike still blew up. So, I think it's just the nature of the M versions in general that are bad. It's putting thousands of people 'off' from buying the M versions(M1000R/M1000RR); although some people are still going to buy the regular s1000RR versions...

BMW Motorrad is starting to show more signs of a loss of build quality and poor treatment of the customer. They (BMW Motorrad of New Jersey) took my 2023 S1000rr from me, under the guise of a heat treatment failure of the connecting rods. That is what the dealership was told, but the Corporate Case Manager would not confirm. They took the bike on 12/10/23 and issued me a '24 with the same specs. I am finally getting the new bike this week or next. They should have had me visit any dealership, pick out a bike that was loaded close to the same, and issue the bike to me. The bike they took will never be sold, and it had over 4k in parts. Which they are reimbursing me for, and I racked up a little over 2,000 miles on it. Starting to dislike BMW
Sell it and get the new 2024 Blade it's got heaps of cool new upgrades like split throttle bodies. Check it out
Man that sucks… 😢 I have Öhlins on my 1199s and the front forks were leaking bad. Changed out the fork seals and it was good to go. Bike only had 6,000 miles on it but apparently 1199’s had leaky ohlins forks.
Shot in the dark. Might be the spring being too soft for your weight. Try a stiffer spring and longer spring rate.
Yeah maybe they can adjust and tune his suspension for his weight
Doesn't ever happen on other bikes but this one gives up 3 time in a row? It's a known issue with these other owners saying same.

This happened after the angel light nod? Electrical gremlin?
You might be over weight for the spring rate the m comes with from factory which can cause rear shocks to blow out. May need to get suspension set up for ur weight
Nah, these bikes can handle more weight then just a regular rider, they have the ability for passenger weight to.. On the bmw website it states a max payload of 471 pounds for rider/passenger..
Shock failed 3 times in a row. It's a problem with the shock. Happening to lots of people with same bike.
It's not been an issue ever on any other bike he has owned, he not that heavy bro lol
My 1st big bike the front brake caliper came off after about 20 miles then my bike was having electrical issues had to go into main dealer about 7x all fixed now.
They didn’t stand behind Motomillions BMW when that motor took a crap.
That's what happens when you remove the limiter early.
There are plenty of other cases that have been covered by BMW on other bikes with same or similar issues. There is 100% more to the story with Motomillion. There’s a reason why BMW would deny a claim like that. That bike was r*ped and abused right off the bat and as others have confirmed, these M bikes are a completely different breed of motorcycles and their motors NEED proper break-ins and not be put on a dyno after 350 miles of riding. 100% guaranteed there’s more to that story of why it was denied. Plenty of other cases (here on RUclips) with others not having warranty claim issues.
He flashed it. No manufacturer is covering the motor if it’s flashed. Same with cars. That’s the game

You have to listen to the tech, do the upgrade to Ohlins. BMW is going through quality control issues with engines and suspension. Make your case known , but if you like the bike? upgrade and your tech is 100% correct suspension problems will disappear. I believe the young woman should look at the 675 or 765 Triumph in a used version .
Nah BMW need to make it right, you don't pay $40k and then pay again because something not right. Need to step on their neck a bit, no point being respectful of a company that risks your safety, either respect goes both ways or you getting exploited.

3:31 $1,900 for a raggedy shock and the top of the line Ohlins is $1,600 💀
They're not really that price. BMW would have ordered a ship load of these shocks from wish/alibaba/ebay for peanuts. The only time they cost $1900 is if someone is stupid enough to buy one from BMW directly and get ripped off by BMW.
That's all BMW seems to do is rip people off. Rather than get a company like ohlins to supply the shock for their $40k bikes like every other manufacturer does, they went with some no name brand bulk order. Then they wonder why everyone's shock keeps failing. Risking with peoples safety over a couple hundred nuts.
Dang D its hard to hear that mona's leakin, shes such a beautiful bike
Does anyone know what he uses to film when he’s not recording pov like him hold the camera
I know 6 owners of this bikes and none of them have this problem, but they all are light riders so, I think the issue it’s not the rear shock but you’re weight. I will try softening the rear shock first and if that not solve you need to upgrade them to ohlins
