    In this video I take my 2023 BMW M1000rr to the dealership to try to resolve a suspension issues. HUGE shout out to Euro Cycles of Tampa Bay (Tampa Bay Motos) for taking care of me. Unfortunately, we replaced the rear shock twice and I am still having the same issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    the shock might not be compressing straight because something might have a small bend in it. it might be compressing slightly sideways and causing some friction and cutting the seal from more pressure to one side of the shock.

      have seen to many vids now on the unreliability of BMW. its fine that they continue to replace the shock under warranty but clearly there's a huge problem with the part. nothing mentioned about the inconvenience of having to keep bringing the bike back after dropping $40k. my time is worth more than the jacket and what happening if the shock totally collapses when you're pushing it at 100+?? I ride all Ninja ZX's and H2 and just haven't had the reliability issues and spent less. was seriously looking at M1k or S1k last year but all the bad press turned me str8 off 🤷‍♂

    @IN_ZANE_ 9 месяцев назад +17

    Imagine spending $40k on a bike that's been spec'd out with budget components. What a scam.
    BMW tech: putting Ohlins on the bike means you'll never have that issue again.
    That's another way of saying the issue is definitely the BMW shocks are absolute unreliable garbage and there is no other solution other than to keep putting a new one on until you get lucky and end up with one that doesn't fail for no reason... well at least until after the warranty ends...
    After 3 in a row fail, it's clearly a massive issue. So how are you supposed to trust it? How are you supposed to feel safe riding this bike as it's designed to be ridden knowing the shock will likely fail at any moment, which realistically could have fatal consequences? At what point should BMW be issuing a safety recall?

    • @THE_MOTOR_MAN
      @THE_MOTOR_MAN 9 месяцев назад +2

      You're right

    • @__Max-oe6zm
      @__Max-oe6zm 9 месяцев назад +2

      This is 100% right, how does BMW just keep saying to put another one in and hope that when it fails again you're not going round a corner at 100mph or it leaks oil on the rear wheel and then what? It's clearly a known risk and they just keep doing this? BMW should be issuing a safety recall and swapping out the shocks on all these bikes with a different brand. Even the ones that haven't failed YET. or providing a credit for customers to install an aftermarket shock. But they won't because they're a sad bunch of greedy, morally bankrupt muppets.
      Risking people's lives over a couple hundred nuts on a $40k bike tells me all I need to know about this company. Defined by their own response to the issues they face. The shock is clearly not fit for purpose.
      Fast Lane D it's time to start turning the pressure up on this, other people have had these exact same issues, no point being nice and understanding towards a company that cares more about their profits than your safety.

    Being a bigger, not a fat guy like myself. I'm 6'5", and at the time when I was getting my suspension set up on my bike I was about 250-260 with all my gear on and I was told that I'm probably going to need to put a bigger spring on the back shock because of how much i weighed but I got back in the gym full force and dropped down to 220 with all my gear on and that helped drastically with how the bike feels. What I'm trying to say that maybe you're a bit too heavy for that spring in the back and that is the cause of the shock blowing out. Or maybe bmw should've put ohlins suspension on a 40k bike 🤷‍♂️

      CaliMoto had his M1000R literally blow up on him(his rod shot a hole straight through his engine) while on the race track and his bike was already broken in with the 600 mile service already being done and everything. Manny, over at Motomillion may have done some 'premature' things before his bike blew up on him; but Calimoto followed things to the book and his bike still blew up. So, I think it's just the nature of the M versions in general that are bad. It's putting thousands of people 'off' from buying the M versions(M1000R/M1000RR); although some people are still going to buy the regular s1000RR versions...

    BMW Motorrad is starting to show more signs of a loss of build quality and poor treatment of the customer. They (BMW Motorrad of New Jersey) took my 2023 S1000rr from me, under the guise of a heat treatment failure of the connecting rods. That is what the dealership was told, but the Corporate Case Manager would not confirm. They took the bike on 12/10/23 and issued me a '24 with the same specs. I am finally getting the new bike this week or next. They should have had me visit any dealership, pick out a bike that was loaded close to the same, and issue the bike to me. The bike they took will never be sold, and it had over 4k in parts. Which they are reimbursing me for, and I racked up a little over 2,000 miles on it. Starting to dislike BMW

      There are plenty of other cases that have been covered by BMW on other bikes with same or similar issues. There is 100% more to the story with Motomillion. There’s a reason why BMW would deny a claim like that. That bike was r*ped and abused right off the bat and as others have confirmed, these M bikes are a completely different breed of motorcycles and their motors NEED proper break-ins and not be put on a dyno after 350 miles of riding. 100% guaranteed there’s more to that story of why it was denied. Plenty of other cases (here on RUclips) with others not having warranty claim issues.

      They're not really that price. BMW would have ordered a ship load of these shocks from wish/alibaba/ebay for peanuts. The only time they cost $1900 is if someone is stupid enough to buy one from BMW directly and get ripped off by BMW.
      That's all BMW seems to do is rip people off. Rather than get a company like ohlins to supply the shock for their $40k bikes like every other manufacturer does, they went with some no name brand bulk order. Then they wonder why everyone's shock keeps failing. Risking with peoples safety over a couple hundred nuts.
