Dunder Mifflin you can tell it was a bald spot if you watched the beginning of the vid 0:40. When his hair was all wet and curly it covers it up. But if you brush your hair in 360 pattern you’re brushing away from your crown which creates that dot. He has 2 crowns so when he separates it, it’ll become wide.

I'm a woman and know nothing about waves. But I do know how to make my 4c curls pop and that my hair could not take shampoo after a conditioning without drying out. Have you considered using conditioner or a conditioning mask at the end before tying it down, especially since it looks like your conditioner didn't sit on long in the shower? A good conditioning followed by a moisturizer and/or leave in, curl enhancing cream, and sealed with a light oil keeps my hair moisturized and the curls come. Not sure why I watched, but great video. Learned something. :)

Not knocking any of this guys ways of doing it but I'm 100 percent sure you can substitute the shampoo with like a leave in conditioner or anything that leaves the hair wet and easy to form and easy to manipulate !

Glam FACE Charlie, you really can. I'm a female that would rather not have deep waves but because my hair is short on the sides and I keep my hair tied down most of the time when I'm home, my waves are always popping. I use Motions or Nairobi foam lotion on my hair to lay my sides down.

Lol he used an alternate method. Go to wavebuilder.com to see the method for those without trained hair... basically pomade, brushing maniacally, and moisturizing. Anytime you see waves, know it was probably hard work!

Use conditioner or setting lotion better for hair shampoo strips natural oils and leaves your hair dry
Also it'll save you from having to go back and rinse it out .

Dope video bro ! I notice a lot of people saying the crown is suppose to be thin like that but they’re wrong. Crowns like that are the beginning stages of baldness. We tend to brush our hair when it’s wet, and that’s the first mistake because hair is fragile when wet so using a strong bristled brush end up damaging it in the long run. Instead, use a wide toothed comb so it’s not as rough. Before I stopped waving I noticed my crown being less prominent yet keeping my curl pattern when using a comb in the shower. Regardless though this video was dope bro I like that technique with rinsing the shampoo while the durag was on !

Cookie actually, I wash my hair the same method as he does- shampoo 3 times then condition once- I only wash my hair on Sunday’s and Wednesday’s (or when it feels to oily or dirty) and I have many many people tell me my hair is amazing and full of shine
