Chess is an intellectual battle where players are exposed to numerous mental processes such as analysis, attention to detail, synthesis, concentration, planning and foresight. Psychological factors are also present on and off the board; playing Chess stimulates our imagination and creativity. Every single move a player makes is the result of a deep analysis based on the elements presented on the battlefield.
Chess in its essence teaches us psychological, sociological and even moral values. In a Chess game, both players start with the same amount of material and time. The fact that the white pieces move first is considered to be practically irrelevant -especially because a player typically plays one game as white and one game as black. Consequently, the final result of the battle solely depends on each player. It doesn’t matter if you win by taking advantage of your opponent’s mistakes or by simply avoiding mistakes yourself. Truth is that Chess is an extremely individual sport and our defeats can only be blamed on ourselves and no one else. And this, in the end, only benefits us because we learn to be and feel responsible for our actions and never come up with excuses to justify ourselves.
We also learn that when it comes to our victories on the board, our opponent's mistakes play a more significant role than our own skills. Let’s not forget that a Chess game without any mistakes would be a draw. This way, Chess provides us with another valuable life lesson: be humble at all times.

Hello Friends of this channel! Don't forget to tell me where you got stuck. It's vital to plan future lessons according to your needs 🙌👍😎
I was able to do the 1-4 movers correctly and found the main ideas on the 5 and 6 movers but struggled to keep track of all of the variations. Honestly the 5 move one seemed the most difficult to me
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!
I'm a late joiner in the course, so I already had some trouble with the first one 😂not that I cannot find mate in one or two or even more (by casually building it up) in my games, but nobody taught me how to sistematically calculate and consider all the possibilities so I find videos like this VERY useful.
So, since I joined late, I will be catching up no matter what you do, just let me tell you this video is gold. ¡Gracias!
ps: for example I found easier the mate in 3 than the mate in 1 🤣 I guess it also depends on the concentration I have in every moment, maybe after 2 examples my brain is already tuning into the calculating dimension...
You are more than welcome, Ruth! Thanks a lot for your feedback and feel free to ask any questions you might have as you go through the course 👍😎
Love from India.. Your way of explanation is different from others.. I got addicted to ur channel 😅❤
🙌 thank you!
Was having a bit more problems with checkmate in 3 than 4, although I still couldn’t get it I was very close on it. This helps a lot actually, for being new to chess I feel this will help me to sharpen my mind.
@0:59 6)maneuvers 7)waiting moves
could calculate till mate in 4 without board but for mate in 5,6 and 9 needed board to draw arrows
👏 thanks a lot for sharing your feedback 🙌
Robert James Ramirez! Im still waiting for your English vs French video!
Got checkmate in 3, missed checkmate in 4 pattern, not close with checkmate in 5, got most of checkmate in 6 😉. Nice exercise.
Thank you, Richard! This helps a lot. I think we should aim at getting you comfortable with 4 movers and add more patterns to our library 😎💪
Things got foggy after CM in 3 for me here. And I missed CM in 2 on our last game 🤷 I think cause I was trying too hard to be careful
Thanks a lot for your feedback 🙌👍
There is no limit. If you want, you can calculate even 50 moves further. Only limit that exist is in your mind.
Solved 1-4 without problems. Missed that the black knight is pinned on number 5 when bishop blocks, so I tried to do a discovered check with the knight and couldn‘t make it work. All the other Lines I’ve calculated correctly. Number 6 was easier to find but I didn‘t see all the possibilities if the king tries to escape on the lightsquares. I really love your videos, thank you!
On the 6-mover, if I was in a bit of time pressure, I probably would've simply played 1 ... Bxg5 2 hxg5 Qe5+ 3. g3 Qxg5 to stay a piece up and run the c4 pawn in for a touchdown.
Thanks a lot for sharing 👍
@@NMRobertRamirez Unfortunately, it took me a lot longer to solve than I would've liked. The artificiality of "mate-in-x" is you're told what to look for. OTB I don't know if I would've pressed on after not finding it in the first 6 minutes, especially with an easy win already in my pocket.
Mate in 2 : we can also move any of the two knights to d5? If king to e6 then rook takes the pawn on g6 and mate and if black's knight takes ours we recapture with our knight?
I knew you were good but you really blew my mind in this video. I was able to spot the checkmate in 4 rather quickly but every other mate was difficult to find. I got so lost in the checkmate in 5 and 6 that I am still trying to find my way home. If you see me lost in the streets, please notify my wife that I am still trying to get my bearings and will eventually find my way back home.
😅 I told your wife and she said to give you even more exercises like these 🤣 Glad you liked this lesson 💪😎
The initial position is a forced mate in 109.
You definitely are at a different level 😎💪
Petrov defense in detail
Can you do a video with Hyper accelerated dragon?
Thank you!
Mate in 6 was interesting. I even got to the point with the Queen b1 move but then didn't see the mate in one with Rook d6 :(
Hi Mr. Robert, i always blunder and lose all the time, what are your tips or advice for players who lose/blunder all the time?
Check mate in 3 was easy , from 4 it took a bit of time
I noticed your piece animations and the cool check effect you had? How do you get that?
Hello! Once you are on the play zone, click on the little setting icon and go to "animation". Then you pick "arcade" 👍
Thanku sir ❤
You are more than welcome 👍
Got stuck already at mate in 2 missing that hxg4 is mate, quite typical. Mate in 4 I thought Qf4 (waiting move) instead of Qh7 with a check. Also mate in 4 or what can black do after Qf4 (only one check)? 🤔 On to mate in 5. 🙃
Edit: Found Qg6 quickly in mate in 5 and also Be5 in mate in 6. Saw that it was enough to win but not at all 100% how it was mate.
My intuition is much better then my calculation. ☺
Thank you, Peter! This means a lot 👍🙌

In mate in 2 puzzle , isn't 1. Rf3+ 2.Rg3# also a checkmate?
For the checkmate in three puzzle, what's stopping u from playing queen h6 immediately?
Never mind, black pushes the c pawn and gets an escape square
I started struggling at 4 but I handle stress terribly. In a game, I struggle with 2 sometimes. I need to figure a way to play with less nerves. It is like I am nearly blind in the game from stress.
Hello! I know what you mean. As you play more games, you will improve in that area. Just remember it's only a game 😎💪
How to handle kings Gambit as black
Had all of the first ones correct up until the m6 when I saw rd4 but missed qb1+ unfortunately. Nice video though, and briefly looked at the m9 but it’s way beyond me lol.
Welcome to the club 😅
Pawn structes
On number 4 cant you also go bishop f8, king goes g5 and you go f4 then h4, if king goes h5 you go qh7, if king g5 go bf5 and u can mate with h4 and f4 all the same, if f4 just go qh4 qf4
Hello! Bf8 keeps White ahead, but after 1..., Rxf8 it won't be mate so quickly 👍
