Super, brother James! It is easy to forget that India has a lively fountain pen market. I have the Beena Lincoln, which shipped from Chennai relatively quickly, and super cheaply. Writes fine.
Nice to see a review of a made in India budget pen.. Glad to know that you liked it.. Priced under $2, it offers a great value for money, not to mention its classic looks.. Thanks to the sender (Kiran ?) too..
That skipping will go as the feed gets saturated. Superb pen true vfm, Camlin made some beautiful pens with great innovation but their innovation kind of stopped after Kokuyo acquired it! Hope Camlin comes back again in fountain pen market with innovation!
I really appreciate about considering this pen for your review among all the other premium pens that you do. A pen is a pen, regardless of the price or anything.
A good school pen. Ideal for people with small hands. I prefer the slightly bigger Camilin Elegante. Has an unusually strong and shapely cap which posts well.
@@varshboo It's a matter of comfort and conveinence. I prefer the Elegante because it's larger ( I have large hands), posts better, has a better nib and, most of all, love the cap.
@@varshbooboth trinity and elegante is not a good long term pen. Their quality control is bad. My trinity was very scratchy at first and the nib had to be realigned. Then after a few months, ink started to leak from the nib area, and a few weeks later, the pen just broke in half at the thread area. Buy parker or click pens instead.
I got to know about "Beena Antic" black colour fountain pen ( very classic look, torpedo shape and fat section) which i think my Physics teacher in the school used in the 90's era and which we admired about as we( students ) all used ball point pens .. i have ordered two pens ( one in blue and other in black with fine and special nib options)
wow ! I like how nib is plain, no fancy filigree on it, just how i like my nibs. i don't mind rest of pen 2b fancy, but plain nibs r hard to find. i may hav 2 seriously consider purchasing 1 just for the plain nib. nice video. minimalism is beautiful too, just like filigree, but in a simpler way
Good to see your video Pastor James! I love when you get new pens to review. I have never bought a pen made in India. I do like the metal upper part of the pen. Very Art Deco. I may have missed it, but who makes the nib?
@@JG3Reviews yes, they make it in house. Another pen to watch for is Camlin Elegante: a good pen with a hefty grip section which you may like better. I enjoyed your video a lot. Thank you for reviewing pens from this part of the world!
I am sure the cap is the most expensive part of the pen, but it can make or break the look, and if it doesn't seal well even affect function, so it makes sense.
I bought this pen when I saw it beside camlin elegante and it was cheap , surprisingly I really like the nib feedback , but the body is really cheap and it scratches really bad by just uncaping ,
I just received my pen. It took 8 weeks to get it. But the price ($1!!) made it tough not to buy it. The converter has a spring agitator in it. It does not seem to be able to pull apart to remove this agitator. It is good to know it can take an international cartridge. I see from the description it can be eyedropper. Thanks again for the tip, James.
Are you sure the person who sent the pen was Karin? I think it may be spelt Kiran - a far more common Indian name (meaning "ray of light"). Nice review.
Nice it can be eyed droppered, and uses the 2.6mm bore International cartridges or converters. Do you know if anyone is currently producing an affordable lever fill pen? Lever fill is my favorite fill system, closely followed by the Pilot 51/21/Hero616 Aerometric. I really like that the Hero 616 isn't a cartridge-converter pen.
I am from India.I would suggest you click student which is cheaper than this pen it's an transparent fountain pen also its cheaper than this and is really satisfying and value for money its available for 100rupees. If you have little more budget and want best Buy Click aristocrat base version 350rupees you won't regret. The Camlin Trinity is an 3 in one pen also the click pens both I mentioned above if an person likes Parker vector then Camlin Trinity is better option. I have Camlin Trinity and Camlin Elegnte both couple of them the elegante feels sturdy quality but isn't 3 in one elegants is good for people loving weighted pens. I would got for Click Under 1000 INR or above it.
They are functional. Only have few moving parts. Not a fan of them myself, but they get the job done. If they come with a pen I use them. Wouldnt buy them as a replacement though.
Look close at the open end of the existing converter when James pulled it out. He mentioned it can use standard or long cartridges also. Because of all that, you can feel good about using a standard international converter too.
That's not an assumption. Standard international converters are made to directly fit in place of an international cartridge. At least for the long cartridges. I don't know about the short cartridges.
@@GeorgeENorkus Standard international is not a standard, despite the name. It’s a result of everyone copying Pelikan and everyone did so slightly differently. The cartridges are mostly interchangeable, but the converters are not standardized and don’t always work in pens they aren’t intended for, for a variety of reasons.
There's a lot of room for improving your handwriting. Your letters look so rough and sharp. Smooth and rounded cursive letters are more pleasing to the eye.

It is Kiran. Thanks for alerting me to the typo. (As I type this, the stubborn iPad spellcheck is changing it every time!)
It looks tinier than Kaweco Sport Fountain Pen.
Please compare the two
It’s closer to the Parker Jotter in size and style.

Indian market likes ink droppers, so many pens are designed to allow it. This leads to many pen designs with plastic bodies, and fancy metal caps.

I'm planning on gifting a fountain pen with budget Rs.600. Between Parker Frontier GT Matte Black & Peirre Cardin President, which is better?
I’m sorry, but I don’t have experience with either of those two.
Does it has gold in its nib??
It’s just a steel nib.
Ya, don’t care for the converter. But it seems like a nice pen. Good job, thanks.
