Ah, we've come full circle. I remember mentioning how the Subata was one of the more reliable secondaries way back when, and now you've sampled it first-hand. It's good to see your channel's progressing, and I hope this success continues.
I use it as the backup for my cryo-vampire build 1,1,3,2,2 with explosive reload small magazine, fast reload, = more reload explosions its great for shattering enemies you cant get to with your drills and accurate enough to pick off things that are far away and shooting at you.
one thing to mention is that the due to the 2x weakpoint mod, it is worth considering the effect of that added 10% average from homebrew. i don't know how the weakpoint mod works, but i assume it is 2x weapon base dmg. if so, the 10% would equate to an additional 3 dmg points, assuming tier 2b is taken. this would be 33 dmg vs 30 dmg points. this doesn't seem like much, but when considering how many rounds it takes to knock out a praetorean, this adds up.
Yes blow through works on the taser. This also works with imbeded detonators. Honestly there's not a lot that doesn't work with blow through. Things like chain hit and bullet hell being the only thing's that don't work but sorta do. The first target you hit will 'split' your bullet but you can only physically see the bounce. The penetration shot still happens and still deals damage but you just can't see it and no the penetration shots can't bounce
Not that i think the explosive reload OC is bad, just that it seems confusing and non-consistent in general. I feel like it could be reworked into a "burning reload" so that it could fit better onto some of the driller's builds imo
I can see that. As it stands, I typically take Explosive Reload on missions with Rival Tech warnings or Industrial Sabotage. They're *very* effective against the bots and the vents of the Caretaker.
Explosive Reload is pretty decent as is. It provides Driller long range hitscan high burst damage. This counteracts Driller’s main downsides of low range and low single-target damage outside of axes.
My problem with both the Subata and the Colette is kinda the same: They dont let me blow up nitra on the ceiling. TCF on the EPC just provides a form of utility that cant rly be matched by anything else it competes with, even more so than the utility options other classes get like Scout's Special Powder.
Tranquilizer + extra DMG from neurotoxin/sludge = very good build for crowd control, but almost no direct DMG (don't pick it for industrial sabotage or anything machine related - very good for core stone, though)
buen video yo suelo usar subata con overclock equilibrado y con mas daño a puntos débiles y enemigos incendiados para matar a enemigos de medio tamaño como a larga distancia por su precisión y dejo que se recargue automáticamente con la perk
With the driller's EPC gun, it's terrain removal/mining ability and DPS, makes the other driller's secondary weapons moot, as in why would you choose anything other than the EPC?
@@LASAGNA_LARRYI can't time it correctly, I can't even launch the ball half the time without overheating, plus sludge pump with explosive reload and catalyst shreds Praetorians and oppressors faster than EPC ever could
I always give every weapon every opportunities to show their worth and what they're capable of, but the subata is just plain disappointing. There are only two builds where I can use I, but can change for something else The toxin explosion perk (full auto) with the sludge pump, and micro explosives for long-range single target removal on my sticky flammes build. I really hope this video shows me other options, because currently it's the only weapon I don't get excited about using
I play subata with explosive reload only. The amount of burst you can get is crazy, it pretty much negates drilla only weakness. It is good fit for flamethrower or sludge, but for cryo i definitly prefere wave coocka
EPC is way too fiddly and ammo-needy on higher hazard levels unless you run something like Burning Nightmare and Heavy Hitter OC (which chains really well with the Combustive Goo Mix OC for the Sludge Pump).
@@katier9725 Thin containment field's damage isn't affected by anything (including persistent plasma) so I just take 21222 and you get a 240 explosion for 9 ammo, it's only downside is trouble with far away enemies. So yes, EPC is best
Neuro corrosive toxic catalyst for the Subata gets better single target and crowd control dps than EPC, and is more ammo efficient along with actually being affected by mods
@WalterFoog-fn7hi eh? TCF for the EPC does 250 flat damage in an aoe, subata pales in comparison to ECP TCF with persistent plasma. What are you smoking?
The subata's benefit is that it's fast, accurate, and deadly. You don't need high damage, high rate of fire, or anything else on the subata as those end up making it worst. You can cover those areas with your other weapons. Homebrew powder always sucks unless you're a gambling addiction because it's inconsistent. Chain hit is underwhelming Oversized mags is really good as it just covers for the weakness of low mag capacity (easily the best) Automatic fire is a downgrade because it's no longer accurate and it only gives +2 rate of fire. The only real reason to take it is if you can't handle pulling the trigger really fast because you have arthritis, or you want your triggers to last longer. Tranquilizer rounds are fine. They give a good buff of bring able to stun. But they reduce mag capacity and rate of fire. Explosive reload gives your subata higher single target damage, but you don't need it for this purpose, also halving your ammo is rough. The only time the subata is not worth taking is when you need the wave cooker for your cryo cannon. Otherwise it's easily the best secondary. You want your subata to be a 1/2/1/1/- with oversized mags, take 3 if you have the sludge, or 1 if you have the crspr. This gives it insane accuracy, high rate of fire, large mag capacity, and 30 weakpoint damage. The worst part of the video was when javark called a magazine a "clip." The only time a magazine is called a clip is for WWI style weapons. The m1000 classic is based off the M1 grand so calling its mag a clip is appropriate. This low IQ term is detestable, it's a MAG, not a fυcking clip.
@@BigSamWin the subata makes primary ammo reserves less of a concern, but you still want ammo because your primary and subata serve 2 different purposes
Honestly I agree with you about oversized magazines being the best OC for Subata. I love the EPC and the cooker but I sometimes feel like I suffer in terms of single target damage leading me to be less useful in a lot of scenarios A lot of people say you shouldn't be focusing single target damage as a driller and yeah it's true but there's so many opportunities where the Subata can pulled out and spammed pretty easily for some good DPS. It's just a very reliable, decent damage, and fairly accurate weapon. Using it with the flamethrower you can put down a praetorian or oppressor surprisingly quickly. Usually with a single magazine and a pickaxe power attack No idea if it's actually the highest DPS for driller, but with the volatile bullets mod in tier 5 it feels like it's got to be up there
Full auto with volatile bullets plus flamethrower rocks my stones.
As a driller main, I approve of this video. Very helpfull for poeple who were thinking of using The Subata in they're build
aye, people who actually like the Subata.
it's simple, it's reliable, it's just lovely.
1:21, i quite like how overwatch classifies weapons like the wavecooker: beam weapons, different from hitscan, different from projectiles
The Glock of the Deep Rock Universe. Every game has one.
Tranq with blowthrough could actually be kinda useful if that works. Set down a damaging slow field, then put everyone to sleep.
Ah, we've come full circle. I remember mentioning how the Subata was one of the more reliable secondaries way back when, and now you've sampled it first-hand. It's good to see your channel's progressing, and I hope this success continues.
Tranq rounds make this my favorite Driller secondary for high hazard missions
Really? Just for the stun? And I assume you're running blowthrough
tranq rounds is an hidden gemm . build the subata full damage/weakpoint and aim , you got a pocket sniper
I use it as the backup for my cryo-vampire build 1,1,3,2,2 with explosive reload
small magazine, fast reload, = more reload explosions
its great for shattering enemies you cant get to with your drills and accurate enough to pick off things that are far away and shooting at you.
The only arguement i ever see being made against subata is carpoltunnel syndrome and it not being thin containment field
I can only think of arguments for other secondaries instead of against the subata itself it's just so normal it's hard to go against

I love this thing!
I pair tranq rounds with the flame, makes up for the lack of cc . they works well together actually .
My fave for the Subata is full auto with cryo cannon to absolutely tear through the frozen enemies
I love it tbh. It's decent. It's very underrated. I love putting chain hit on with an exploding neuro build...
ROCK AND STONE!
Please do the coilgun next!

The bounce shots cannot bounce - damage is instantly applied to an additional enemy and a tracer is shown, it's not actually a projectile.

TCF EPC is the best. Bar none. Only really use the other secondaries for fun factor.

i use it quite a lot i must say...and NO, its not due to the fact that i forget to change the loadout most of the time 😛
Subata is very fun. However, it and the wave cooker sadly live in the shadow of TCF EPC.
atleast wave cooker has cryo boiler ray going for it 😭 hoping for some subata buffs at some point to give it some spotlight
I wish it had more capacity
Exploding reload is the best anti shooter bug secondary.
