... He just know that it is futile to save something already dead. He also knows that animals are food source too. It is a struggle for him. He express his sadness by not eating the food. It is not like he is not mad or angry, he didn't cry now because he can verbally discuss his disdain ... Sometimes, kids cry not because they are bad kids ... they are just frustrated that they can't control their environment or feel discomfort.

That's probably why he doesn't like to eat meat and is forced by his dad everytime
