  • It's a rough (homemade) recording, but it shows that they basically had their sound down two years or so before they actually released something.

Not a bad cover of the Missing Links

Interesting to hear this as it's two years before punk was supposed to have started. Quite daring for 1974 as we had the left overs from the glam rock era, prog rock was everywhere and monster rock bands ruled the world. Loved the rawness of their first album (I'm Stranded) and it still sounds great today but lost interest when the horns were introduced on their second album.

Yes horns have ruined so much otherwise great rock and roll/rock. And imo (nothing personal) Nicky Hopkins and that damn tinkling piano. Early Who etc. Also Raw Power (and the famous rehearsals) would have been so much better without that damn piano emasculating the sound. When it comes to Rock all that is needed is guitars bass and drums.

    so my question is this
First Punk Rock on wax.... Damned "new rose" Ramones Saints..... I would have loved to have an original copy of the I'm Stranded album.
