If you try to mt there multiple times, the unoptimal lines as a result will ruin your time. You can't properly keep a tight line with all that drift boosting in that tower

Characters only matter when going off-road. So for example, Dry Bones being the lightest character with the Egg 1, will cut grass, sand and dirt faster than someone like Wario. Every other stat in terms of speed, handling, etc is identical when comparing all characters and a single kart.
@@mkdsabel Is there any resource for info on why certain karts are picked over others on the different courses? I never knew that about the characters which is pretty cool, but I've never known why they go Egg-1 (or Luigi Standard which is cool) over the ROB kart

For example, it is technically fastest to drive Bowser Castle in time trial with the ROB-BLS, but 99% of players use Egg 1 because the former is too difficult and wouldn't get you the best results. How do kart combinations work in mario kart ds? Do characters have stat bonuses like they do in wii? or does a karts have the same stats depending on what char used? Like if i were to use the poltergust 4000 with yoshi would it be the same as with luigi? great video tho

Whilst MKDasher and Taiga have been heavily dominant, there are many other top players competing for world records in different categories.
This game is better than mkwii casually. But the speedrun hurts my hands and I don’t like it, so mkwii is the better speedrun game in my opinion.
