I worked with a lady who faked a southern accent because her territory was in the South. She was hilarious, but it apparently worked for her because her numbers were good…
Working in a "contracted" call center is just like you explained. Constant notes to "follow the script". And the company gave the same rebuttal you got, "Our clients work hard on writing those scripts. We expect our representatives to say it word-for-word." and also, "Don't sound like you're reading the script word-for-word."
I am really sick how the corporate world takes advantage of people by overworking and underpaying them. I occasionally employ people to work for me, but would NEVER overwork them based on what I am paying. Furthermore, if I do overwork, I will also overpay because that is fair. Unfortunately, greedy corporate buggers think otherwise.
at the call center I worked at, it was first come first serve desk every day. You could wind up on the opposite side of the durn place sometimes until the managers flat out stated each team should line up along hte row where the managers desk was. Which actually made sense. To keep the stupid randos from claiming everything and trying to get away from their managers.
A murder novel taking place at a call center? To my way of thinking it'd be more like a full-blown monster horror story. Decapitated and half-chewed bodies everywhere, with a few supervisors cackling evilly in the background.
worked for them way back in 2012 in columbus ohio , they left columbus in 2013 good riddance worst job ever, great people and the call center manager wasnt a bad guy either, telelmarketing jobs just suck
It's a call center that supports a lot of different websites but just as you were saying the phone equipment and computers are antiquated and the building is like something out of a horror movie. Their reputation proceeds them. Most people here in the Austin call center community have worked there at one point or another

DialAmerica also had an office here in the Philadelphia area back in the 80's and the 90's. Thank God I didn't work there.

I work there now. It is a nightmare
I know. It’s really bad. Didn’t you recommend I do a vid on Dial America?
H Noel - do a review on glassdoor. Maybe you can switch to a better position or call center.
PTPOP - they did that on glassdoor, they have 3.5 average.
Just left this hell hole! THANK GOD
