Someone asked American girl on their Instagram if we will be seeing more of the Barbie collab and they sort of said to stay tuned so I do think more things will come out next year and most likely an outfit !
I love this new AG doll however I wish they had done her without the crystals so it would be affordable for more people. She is adorable though. I am a Barbie lover although I collect more AG dolls. I will probably wait for one to show up with messed up hair at the thrift store and rescue her! 😂
I agree that she’s probably $300 because she has the most Swarovski crystals, it’s also crazy how many people have seen new dolls at the thrift store ! So you may have a chance lol
I think releasing a Barbie AG was a really good idea. But I have to agree that I'm not a fan of the crystals. Idk why all of the AG collector dolls need to have Swarovski crystals. And if they needed to put the crystals, then there are other iconic Barbie looks that would have looked better with them added. I am actually really annoyed that they slapped crystals on a black and white swimsuit just to charge $300 lol. This will be the first AG collector doll I'm not getting but hey it's a good reason to stop being a completionist lol. I am glad other collectors love her though.
I think it is an awesome idea even though I have never had a Barbie. As you know, there are other brands, such as RRFF, who have LE dolls that are preordered and expensive and the release date is in the future so that is not that unique. As for quality control, I prefer to wait rather than project doom since there may be no issues. 😊
You are correct that they have done a similar release date with other brands such as RRFF but that’s more like a month or 2 months wait time not a whole year. I like to be optimistic too but when American girl has shown time after time that their quality control has not met the quality standard we entail… its hard to have hope
