Manuel de Falla is one of Spain's most important musicians of the first half of the 20th century. De Falla wrote only seven works for solo piano, one of those is «Cuatro piezas españolas», dedicated to Isaac Albéniz. The second piece from this Zyklus named “Cubana”. De Falla has given this work the rhythm of the guajira, the most typical Cuban dance.
