    Remember when $2.50 was cheep, now i can pay $2.15 (USD) for normal gas across the street. But even then natural gas vehicles, mostly Honda's, are popular in Salt Lake City Utah. We have a big focus on emissions and air quality and nothing makes the government love you more than owning a hybrid or NGV.

    It doesn't cost $5K-$10K. You can add CNG to your car for only $1500. You can do the work yourself and get parts from several sources on the Internet.

    my dad used to drive a taxi van that ran on lpg and petrol when he ran out of gas, changeover between the two was seamless. pre cool.

      And 3 years after your post it looks like CNG research has not improved much.
      I was hoping for this.

    Blow up? Really? Municipal governments all over the U.S. have been using these CNG cars for years. Thousands of them. When have you ever heard of one blowing up and killing anyone? AT&T has a whole fleet of them.

    Quite an informative video, presented well with well planned out content. An interesting topic to follow, many folks are not all that aware of it. Bit of a failure in those with a stake in this industry, just not getting the message over to the masses.

    Military runs cars and trucks that have both a CNG tank and Gas tank. No trunk space (in cars) but you get great mileage. Downside, takes longer to refuel than gasoline.

      Mahbub Ali question: if a cng runs out of gas in ur country how does it get refilled? Have to tow jt? Just wondering what other countries do in that case.

    Gasoline has a heating value of 46.4 megajoules per kilogram and natural gas has a heating value of 55.5 megajoules per kilogram.

    • @JD-yx7be
      @JD-yx7be 8 лет назад +1

      Gammareign heat value and efficiency of that are two different things. that is why an EV can travel over 100 miles on the equivalent energy of 1 gallon of gas. even the most efficient gas car could never get close

    Anyone thought about gas_electro hybrid vehicles?

    • @Artididitagain1
      @Artididitagain1 6 лет назад +1

      Yes I have actually a van like a ford 350 transit could be converted to cng and a hybrid electric making it a bi fuel hybrid a using compressed air system that is my design, mpg on cng could get to about 40 with these advancements but it is about 12k added cost the host way over priced the conversion to cng, that's the cheapest part really. But fuel costs around 2,000 a year if the vehicle ran on gasoline at 2.49 which is the current price in my state. Could run for about 100 dollars a year at .60 cents a gallon of cng in my state. That's for 10,000 miles. In a Cng, Ca, hybrid electric commercial van.

    It doesn't cost $10000 for a conversion. More like $1500.

    • @RobertLeBlancPhoto
      @RobertLeBlancPhoto 6 лет назад

      Depends entirely on the vehicle, the level of the conversion, and where you have it done.

    • @zeeck9396
      @zeeck9396 6 лет назад +1

      I think $1500 would be for generic aftermarket conversion. if you want an EPA certified conversion, I think it would cost at least 5K. I believe many vehicles don't even have an EPA certified conversion kit available.....so if you wanted to do a conversion, you would need to purchase a generic aftermarket kit.

    An even bigger fire hazard than gasoline and diesel.

    • @Jemalacane0
      @Jemalacane0 7 лет назад

      Not a bigger fire hazard than gasoline. Natural gas is harder to ignite, but easier to extinguish than gasoline.
