As usual, no matter how long I spend making a video, I'll always remember a point I wanted to add right as I'm uploading it and don't have the time to go back and change anything. So let's call this a RUclips comments EXCLUSIVE BONUS! I want to see what Retro's been working on, and I want it to be more or less like I was saying in the prediction video. An adventure game with new characters and a story and really engaging gameplay. No returning franchises, not a sidescroller, not a primarily-multiplayer game. Something big and truly new for Nintendo.
Dragonband He said that "Lets get playing that game now!" is gonna be the breakout catchphrase of 2018, note he said "catchphrase", I never said he could only say one, I just said his most iconic one
Unless Odyssey gets dlc kingdoms, I really hope we don't have to wait for another console for another 3d Mario game. If the Switch is so great and successful then it should be able to last long enough to get another 3d Mario.
Arlo you sweet muppet puppeted video gaming angel, your videos give me a feeling of tremendous GLEE- and you're too precious for this youtubing world.... I love your opinions, predictions and general reactions to the Nintendo titles you love so much. I just wish I didn't have to watch you apologize for them. You're amazingly creative and you bring so much fuzzy blue joy into our lives, I hope your fans continue to do the same for you. Please ignore the backlashers. Please dont waste a single momentary MINUTE on doing anything but what you enjoy because we enjoy it too!! I hope you might possibly see this, and I hope to see more videos about "WHAT-!" you do best! Making all kinds of funnies, and zero kinds of sorrys. You rock Arlo. Big, big, big, big big BIGBIGBIFBIFBIFFFGFIBGIDB- BIG FAN!! #newgrumpbluegrump2018 - Ari
Your too naive. If there's backlash rhen you can't act as if everything is going all right.. responsibility exist. People i have mad respect to who accept the consequences and doesn't give all kind of excuses..
It's like achievements in a way. You just get to scroll through & see how much you've invested in a game. It's fun to look back & reflect on time spent.
"Broke out of the box they built for themselves" *Meanwhile at Nintendo of Japan* "We're finally out of this box, but what do we do with it now?" "Let's make something with it and sell that!"
I totally agree that a Luigi's Mansion should be for the switch, seeing as though the original one is my favorite game of all time! For me, I was really hoping for an HD remake with some new Amiibo!
I couldn’t agree more! I loved that game, and whenever I ask for a sequel everyone says “miitopia” or “miitomo” (which was terrible) but I really don’t think those count. I think it’s possible because of its success in Japan, but they’ll just have to do something about same-sex marriages which everyone hated them for.
I think it'll happen actually, they seem to be still interested with it and I believe it's relatively profitable with sells vs how long it takes to make.
Finally someone agrees! That was the best Mario sports game, and after ultra smash and Mario sports superstars, we need a good Mario sports game with flavor
I would like Luigi’s mansion 3 Another 3D Mario game (not this year but maybe 2019) Mario Galaxy 3 Smash Bros (won’t come out this year but still) Mario Sunshine 2 Mario Galaxy 3 Mario Chargers (is that the football one) Virtual console Fire Emblem Pokemon Mario Galaxy 3 Oh... did I remember *MARIO GALAXY 3*
Dope video! Here's the complete wishlist from Arlo's video! *_Wishlist_* 0:57 *Pikmin 4* - Nope. Didn't get officially revealed or released. However, it would finally be officially announced at Nintendo Direct September 2022 and was released for Nintendo Switch in July 2023. The game would also be a soft reboot of the franchise. 2:25 *Super Mario Maker 2* - Nope. Didn't happen. However, it would get revealed at Nintendo Direct February 2019 and was released in June 2019. 3:06 *Luigi's Mansion 3* - Half Right! It didn't release in 2018, but it got announced at Nintendo Direct September 2018! The game would also be a proper sequel to Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon but return to a "open-world" mansion format from one and be released for Nintendo Switch on Halloween 2019. Ironically, the game's big new feature was 2 player local co-op. 4:39 *Metroid Prime 4 Gameplay Reveal* - Nope. I didn't happen, and as of 14th of April 2024, it has yet to happen due to the game getting rebooted by Retro Studios in January 2019. 5:30 *New Pokémon Switch Information* - Right...? It did happen, kinda. We didn't get a new trailer for it, but we did get a 2019 release and confirmation that it would be traditional new generation games (Gen 8). The games would instead be revealed as "Pokémon Sword & Shield" during a Pokémon Direct on Pokémon Day 2019 and was released for Nintendo Switch during November 2019. However, we did get a reimagening of Pokémon Yellow to Nintendo Switch called "Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! & Let's Go Eevee", which was announced in May 2018 and released for Nintendo Switch November 2018 ()the new information about Pokémon Switch did happen at the Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! & Let's Go, Eevee! reveal as well). 6:18 *New Animal Crossing Game for Nintendo Switch* - Half Right! I didn't release in 2018, but got announced at Nintendo Direct September 2018! The game would be revealed as "Animal Crossing: New Horizons", was announced with a 2019 release but got delayed to March 2019, where it finally released for Nintendo Switch. The game's theme was deserted islands and not farming, but it did include more famring elements though. The game featured proper 2 player local multiplayer and 8 player local wireless and online multiplayer, with Dream Islands getting released some months after launch with a free update, but it unfortunately didn't include a online hub or anything like that though. 8:12 *Hopes Nintendo Switch Online is smooth and easy to use + Hopes everyones dream wishes happens* - Nope and nope. Let's say both didn't happen. Nintendo Switch Online was launched in September 2018 and was basically the same as free but now behind a paywall and did include a app with special features and voice chat in it. 8:38 - *The Return of Virtual Console* - Nope. It didn't happen and got replaced by Nintendo Switch Online - a service that included some old games and was included for "free" with the online multiplayer paywall. It would lanuch with only NES games, with SNES Online in September 2019, Nintendo 64 Online and Sega Mega Drive Online in October2019 (though behind the higher price tier "Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack", which also launched then) and Game Boy Online & Game Boy Advance Online (the last one was exclusive for Expansion Pass) in February 2023. As of writing this comment, the Virtual Console has yet to return and is extremely unlikely to do so. 9:07 *Nintendo GameCube Virtual Console* - Nope. It didn't happen and, as of writing this comment, has yet to happen, but could happen in the future. However, Nintendo has ported over and remastered several GameCube titles for Nintendo Switch, such as Metroid Prime, Pikmin 1 & 2 and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (though that last one hasn't released yet). As with the trigger shoulder buttons, they have yet to be a issue for the GameCube games on Nintendo Switch. 10:04 *Improved Nintendo eShop UI* - Half Right! It has improved since launch with more categories and options (not sure how much it was improved since 2018 though), but, as of writing this, it's still not very good and it's unlikely to be get any major improvements at this point... 10:23 *The Return of Activity Log* - Nope. It didn't happen, and, as of writing this comment, it has yet to happen and is extremely unlikely to happen... 10:53 *Price Drop to $250 USD* - Nope. It didn't happen, and, as of writing of this comment, has yet to happen. However, it's invertible and will happen at some point in the future. 11:49 *Hopeful for strong third-party support and hopes for more Nintendo collabs with third-party developers, specially with their bigger IPs like Mario & Zelda* - Half Right! Third-party support was strong this year with games like Fortnite and Diablo III getting ported (the last one as "Diablo III: Eternal Collection". As of collabds, we did get Star Fox content in the Ubisoft game Starlink: Battle For Atlas, which was released in October 2018. We didn't get a brand new Nintendo game by a third-party developer, but it has happen in the future with Ninendo Switch with games like Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer feat. The Legend of Zelda by Brace Yourself Games in June 2019 and Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, a remake of the original Advance Wars & Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, by WayForward in April 2023 after several years of delays. 12:56 *Pull the plug on the Nintendo 3DS support* - Nope. It got fewer games this year than in 2017, but we still got more games like WarioWare Gold & a remaster of the original Luigi's Mansion. Nintnedo would pull the plug in March 2019 though after extremely poor sales with Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey, a remaster of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story released in Januar 2019. The last Nintendo game for the system was Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn, a port of Kirby's Epic Yarn, released in Match 2019 and the last major third-party game was Persona Q2: New Cimena Labyrinth by Atlus (Sega) in June 2019 overseas (November 2018 in Japan). 14:35 *Let Nintendo do their thing so 2018 becomes like 2017'* - Nope. This did unfortunately not happen. The first half of the year was full of ports while the second half was Nintendo Switch Online and a few more games (one of which being Super Smash Bros. Ultimate). Outisde of Smash, it was a very weak year for Nintendo Switch, but it's understandable that 2018 would be more of a "break yeart" after such a strong year like 2017. It's only natural! COMMENT EXCLUSIVE BONUS: *Retro Studios Project is a new IP and it's a huge adventure game* - Nope. We didn't get to see it and whatever it was has it been cancelled. Yes, it's, as of writing this comment, unknown what the project even was. It could have been a huge adventure game, but it could also have been something completely different. 15:24 *The Super Mario Odyssey Holiday DLC Prediciton Correction* - In my opinon, this was nice to include, but I personally don't think it's that big of a deal since Nintendo usually calls the holiday by a different, more neutral name anyway (though a Easter theme would make more sense than a Thanksgiving one). Also, outside of free content updates with Luigi's Balloon World and smaller stuff like costumes and Camera filters, we sadly didn't get paid DLC or any big new singleplayer content for Super Mario Odyssey at all. As for myself, I personally wanted Smash and Super Mario Maker, and I finally got Smash with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. I'm actually surprised you didn't mention it here with just how HUGE of a fan demand it was for it at that time. Again dope video and I look forward to watch all your other videos from 2018!
Arlo wishes for Pikmin 4 in 2018… only had to wait 5 more years for it to come true. Btws, the reason Pikmin development is so slow is the same team that does those games is responsible for 2D Mario. So they weren’t really working on it until Mario Maker 2 was abandoned. And don’t forget all those “New Super Marios” they were making for years.
Arlo I've been a subscriber for a year or two now and I think that the fact you only have 200k subscribers is a crime. Your content is not only amazing and very well made but it appeals to all ages which is super admirable. I love ya man keep on that grind.
Xcaliber The Wise Do you mean remakes of the trilogy or just the trilogy itself? Because I’m sure the DKC trilogy will come out on the virtual console just like it did on the 3ds and WiiU
If there is no pikmin 4 anything (announcements, trailers, gameplay) I am going to flip my sh*t. Nintendo I've been waiting for pikmin 4 for 5 years!!!!!!!!!!! MAKE IT HAPPEN
HGPlays As Much as I like the series Pikmin 3 only sold 1.23 million units. Considering the game had been in development since 2009 it’s possible it didn’t make enough of a profit to justify continuing
CrossfacePanda Combining Nintendos Second worst selling console with Nintendos worst selling console, what could go wrong. Dont forget wishing kill of Nintendos moneymaker system too. Sometimes it seems like Arlo wants Nintendo to go out of business.
Mordin Solis Uhm... GameCube may not have sold well but it has some of the best games in the history of video games. GameCube games are among the top tier when it comes it that conversation and bringing those to switch in some way is a no brainer.
The gamecube failed to sell because it was completely outclassed feature-wise by PS2, not because it had games that didn't appeal to anyone. The gamecube's library is probably one of the best libraries on a nintendo home system since games first started going 3D. If they released a Metroid Prime with amazing graphics and it got amazing reviews in this day and age, it would sell like friggin hotcakes. Remember, when the gamecube was around, the internet wasn't nearly as used, and popularity or quality of games was not as easily propagated. These days if a big developer's game knocks it out of the park, everyone will know. We saw it with Nier Automata: a series that had 0 popularity outside of cult following prior to Automata's release. These days, amazing games are easily recognized by the public.
Lads4Life But the Gamecube is also one of the most controversial Nintendo console, if you think about it there are a lot of games which people inititially loved and then started to hate on (Mario Sunshine, Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes ecc...). Idk how much of a good idea is to bring these games back. (I’m really sorry if I made any mistakes but I don’t live in an english country and english wasn’t my first language)
Even though I don't believe it will come out this year, the one game I truly want this year is Smash on the Switch. I go out and meet up with friends all the time and almost every time we're out, we always wish we could just play smash on the Switch.
They need to add bomberman, arms characters, splatoon characters, rex from xenoblade 2, Travis touchdown because suda51 said he wants him there, and you know the most important thing? SAKURAI HATES MAKING SMASH
The best time to watch those prediction videos are after we know how it went down in my opinion, been bingeing Smash predictions and 2018 predictions lately
My #1 thing I want for the Switch is a Mario 64 DLC for Super Mario Odyssey. SERIOUSLY, can you imagine going to the Mushroom Kingdom and entering peach's castle to find Bob-Omb Battlefield and Jolly Roger Bay, along with all the other levels!? I mean, they already have lots of assets, like some sound effects such as collecting a star and entering a painting, and the models like the trees, log posts, coins, toads, and many enemies, not to mention the textures they could reuse or slightly alter. It would be fairly cheap to produce and they could charge something like $20 for it. Mario Odyssey would truly become my favorite game of all time if Nintendo pulled this off.
Or they could just remake Mario 64 on the Odyssey engine and make it better somehow.... I mean I'd pay full-price for that tbh. The last Mario 64 remake we got was on the DS... 14 years ago.
Hahahahaha very funny hahahahaha.... no. Look man, a Mario 64 remake on the Switch would be a good opportunity for Nintendo to bring back a Mario game everybody loved... not to mention that there are plenty of youngsters who haven't played it. To be honest though, they could just make a Mario 64 DLC for Mario Odyssey. I'd play it. I'm sure others would too. :3
Paper Mario. I'm one of the few that liked Color Splash. So please. Paper Mario. Paper. Mario. Mario with Paper. (Edit: I don't love Color Splash with all of my heart, I just casually like it. I've never tried TTYD, but it sounds better.)
It's pretty much definite that Nintendo didn't announce Metroid Prime 4 right after they started developing it. Too many things could go wrong during development, either within development (something they had planned to be a core part turns out to not work, or they discover the game works better without some core Metroid mechanics, or something) or without (core plot elements lining up uncomfortably close to the next 9/11, or shooters taking a market nosedive, or something). Not to mention that game marketing is carefully calculated and planned in advance; it's theoretically possible to plan a marketing campaign which launches years ahead of launch and slowly builds up hype, but it would be difficult to maintain even without the almost inevitable schedule slip.
I agree, however they may have just been trying to show that they are changing. They might have seen what people were saying about how they had no fan service during wii u days - so they were like LETS GET MAKIN' THAT GAME NOW!!!!
It would be nice for Nintendo to remaster the original Metroid prime games. The series has been dormant for a while and it could help sales of prime 4. Also I just really want those on switch
Its clear that unless your the best company ever, like you could say Nintendo, you can hype it years ahead, but sometimes you get no mans sky -an absolute disappointment at first and slowly attempting to get it better.
The counter argument would likely be that, while this tends to be problem for a game's marketing campaign (and not something Nintendo normally does), it makes a lot of sense if the announcement was made for the console's/company's/IP's marketing instead. Likely a large part of the reason Samus Returns was so quickly well-received was because we had the announcement paired with another announcement that felt so obviously like Nintendo finally "got it". And the fact that the announcement makes us think of Nintendo in that way, may mean that the announcement was made less for the game itself and more for the IP and Switch/Nintendo brand overall. It could still mean that they are well along in development, but considering how the game was announced and potentially why, it may just as well have been announced earlier for other reasons.
Timothy McLean Maby not right after Development but game announcement can come quite soon after development started, and even if that’s not the case it might be a botw situation where there finding that their constantly changing things in development so they don’t know how soon it will be ready.
I'm one of those who had a GameBoy, DS and 3DS but never had a Nintendo home console until Switch, so I would highly appreciate a collection of the first 3 Pikmins on the Switch, like they did with Bayo1&2. This way I could enjoy those classics and jump on that Pikmin 4 hype train!
Bopps yes this so much! Only played the first pikmin but could never find a copy of the second one because it got hard to find. Never had a Wii U so obviously I haven’t played three
If Nintendo keeps taking risks and actually listening to fans... MAYBE WE WILL GET A PAPER MARIO LIKE THE FIRST TWO! (or maybe even first three). I really like Super Paper Mario but I feel that most fans would definitely prefer to have the game be like the first two.
What if the new Retro project is a BOTW-like 3D Donkey Kong masterpiece that comes out of nowhere? I feel that would be the perfect switch surprise of 2018.
I want so much. I've wanted a DK64 with smoother gameplay and better designed collectathon for years. If Retro Studios of all people does it will be amazing.
StalePangolin We need the comeback of the DK crew. Where's Chunky kong? Or the guy with this: *HE HAS NO STYLE, HE HAS NO GRACE, THIS KONG HAS A FUNNY FACE.*
KitCloud1 Dude, I agree wholeheartedly. DK64 doesn't get nearly the love it deserves. It's possible, though, that Rare (now Microsoft) owns the newcomers from that game, like Lanky and Chunky, which would steal some of the nostalgia points if Nintendo tried reintroducing much of that game's concepts. I'm tired of such a great game only living on in memes of its theme song. :-( Go DK Switch!
My hopes would be New wario land or better yet wario world GameCube virtual console Odyssey DLC sunshine and galaxy themed with Delfino plaza and comet observatory New donkey kong country
My main hopes for Nintendo 2018 is, well, revivals. DLC as a concept adds a lot of longevity to games if done right. Mario and Zelda are already out on the Switch. We know Pokemon and Metroid are coming but as Arlo said, unlikely for 2018 for various reasons. I think its time Nintendo stopped beating around the bush and just plain bring back stuff that's been left at the wayside. Things like F-Zero, Golden Sun, Advance Wars, more traditional Mario Party, and the like. Bring back older stuff that while maybe not given the HUGE scope/size of a Zelda or Mario, is enough to give fans excitement and can be more easily stacked over time than the 'one big hit a year and that's it' the WiiU had and the first year of the Switch avoided.
There's just one problem with what you said, a lot of games that are pretty left out for nintendo aren't Nintendo properties. For example Golden Sun and Advance Wars aren't from Nintendo.
A possible solution is to 'revive' these franchises under a different brand - many Switch owners won'tve heard of, say, Advance Wars anyway (and those who have will recognise this ""new"" IP is actually AW). We've already had that indie AW clone on Switch, and everyone noticed it was a clone and it attracted a ton of attention because of it - Nintendo could do that to themselves.
Nayrman214 That sounds like a nifty idea. One problem Those dust collecting IPs never set any records unique to permit any other interest in sequels unless a second/third party company wishes to. Which is why FZero on the GCN is Sega developed.
Marco D. Toon, not really. I mean, I understand that the RPG genre has some of the greatest games of all time, but I'm not a big fan of playing them because I find them boring and way too long. It's just called a preference.
All I need is Luigi’s Mansion 3 (in a style closer to to original, as in getting that creepy factor) and animal crossing for switch. That’d make me beyond happy.
Cruz that would be insanely perfect. I’ve been dying for a real animal crossing. A console powered AC that you can take anywhere? With bigger towns? Yes PLEASE. I also hope the Switch lasts long enough for another Zelda game, 2D or 3D. I would like to be able to own a system with more than 1 Zelda game and a few ports lol (Like the GameCube with Wind Waker and Twilight Princess)
KyroSkee I honestly wouldn’t mind a Zelda maker game. You can make dungeons in the styles of the first game, LTTP, Minish Cap, and A Link Between Worlds. A shrine maker would be interesting, but how would that work with the 3D environments? Honestly I would take either one if they got them to work right. That would be so cool!
I like how critical and open you are with a lotta games you play. Even though Paper Mario may never go back to normal (sadly), and how Nintendo seems to be completely oblivious to what their fans want on various occasions- you still look positive. You’re not afraid to show your opinions to the public. That’s what I like about your opinions and videos, and I’m glad I subscribed to this channel. Look forward to new videos every month.
My wish list (doesn't have to be released, just announced): Kid Icarus Sequel Metroid Prime 4 info (I don't expect it to be released this year) Pikmin 4 Pokémon Switch info (actual info, not rumors) Animal Crossing Switch Virtual Console with a good lineup DLC worlds for Odyssey would be cool but not necessary Actual Paper Mario game N64 Classic Mario Maker port or sequel For my out there, almost never gonna happen request: Xenoblade Chronicles HD
I still don't get that. Prime 4's been floating around for ten years and Tanabe's been working on the story since 2015. How do people expect this to be released so far off just because the _teaser_ didn't have gameplay?
Dogman_35 Because the teaser said "Now in development". We don't know how far that is. Remember, we got a teaser TRAILER for Breath of the Wild in 2014 and it didn't come out until 2017
+Nintendoman1998 Well on top of it being the Wii U, an annoyingly hard to develop for console, and Nintendo's ONLY game to get that many delays from it's original date... it was also their first shot at open world in a first party game _ever_ and took a longer time to develop than they were expecting. Not a single Switch game has been delayed. Mario Odyssey came _earlier_ than expected. They're living up to their promise of not announcing games so early another BotW situation happens, so far.
8:20 Specific feature request for Splatoon 2; enable cross region matchmaking so I can play with the much larger Japanese playerbase And make it so literally 15% of all games don't involve a disconnect. Seriously, the disconnect problem is HUGE due to unstable online
This may come with online play. I don't know about splitscreen though, it looked like a sneaky business decision to get more to populate online since it's the series they seem to be putting the most online features in...
If you aren't already being matched with Japan, being matched with them now will make your disconnect problem worse. It's ping based matchmaking, so you're being connected to people with better connections to you. You're basically asking them to make it an even bigger problem.
If they do DLC for Odyssey (other than luigis balloon world) they should do either Isle Delfino, or maybe... Dinosaur Land? I know it's weird because we already have Yoshi, but. That'd be really cool if you could play your favorite Super Mario World levels in 3D! Plus Cappy... So... I mean. I'd buy it.
Analog triggers are crucial for competitive SSBM. And with Super Mario Sunshine while it's not impossible to play without it, the ability to spray water while walking is super helpful for multiple missions including EVERY shadow Mario mission. Both of which are arguably among the top 10 games Nintendo fans want to see on the Virtual Console early. I've really been enjoying your videos! I just felt it necessary to chime in on this one.
Ooh, and in place of high tech like it BotW, since he works with technology all day, he uses back to nature boy scout tactics to defeat enemies in BotS. Lol.
As cool as it would be, they'll never do it. Like, look at Wario Land, it was never a popular series, and I don't think Wario Ware did much better. At best, Waluigi is just a meme, and having him star in his own game is just not feasible
+Noah Huebel I found out about that game today and it looks good. I had no idea it existed but apparently it's really famous in the Smash community. I'm gonna look it into more but from the little I saw it's a really nice game.
Arlo, thank you. Really, thank you for making this bitter and angsty young adult actually smile at something as silly as a puppet. Please keep up the astounding levels of quality! I know from how your last update video went that time is a rare commodity for you with your situation, but could you please do some more videos for Arlo Plays? If you streamed that on twitch, I'd easily subscribe my prime sub to you.
The one advantage the 3ds has over the switch that makes it still worth keeping: it can actually fit in your pocket. The switch is portable and all but it's an ordeal carrying it around without a carrying case or something. You can just fold the 3ds up and slide it right in your pocket. I feel like that alone is a good reason to continue support on the 3ds at least for a few more years until they make a smaller switch and it has many more games.
I LOVE arlos idea for animal crossing multiplayer! Walking up to your shops and seeing all your friends hanging out would be amazing! Of course i would also like to still be able to go straight to my friends town but i think nintendo should build on this idea somehow.
If Nintendo pulled the plug on the 3ds, that would force parents to buy a home console for their kids and create a bit of a hassle. The PS Vita as far as I know is still doing decently well and it has been around for quite some time. The 3ds at this point is already quite powerful, and being able to make smaller games that are just as efficient and fun as the bigger titles on the consoles, and take it anywhere, is a big strength. The switch has a pretty low battery life when it comes to portability, and the 3ds doesn't have any big downsides. They could probably only make it more powerful in the future. To sum it all up, killing the 3ds is not good.
The Vita's only really doing fine in Japan, everywhere else it's basically just an indie machine. I do agree that the Switch isn't an ideal first handheld, being tablet sized makes it less practical for smaller pockets, but I'm not sure what you mean by home consoles being a bit of a hassle for younger gamers.
Matthew Hutchinson thanks for getting the proper information. Appreciated. I guess a part of me is quite worried with the whole "hybrid" theme. Just because the system is portable doesn't mean it can replace the portable systems.
You know, I have to be honest: There was something about your content that made me skeptical. I wasn't sure how I felt about your videos at first, but I took a good chunk of time, and watched more of your content, and I have to say: I REALLY like you. You're very straightforward, honest, and I like hearing what you wanna talk about. Great content! Here's to hoping for a Switch VC! Also, subbed.
It seems inevitable that the game will get DLC Something that might be too much to ask for, but I think a Hyrule Kingdom would be awesome, along with a Luigi campaign. Oh and Captain Lou Albano and Bob Hoskins Mario outfits we need those.
And here we are, on the cusp of 2019 with those desires unfulfilled. Not that Nintendo hasn't delivered us other quality content, of course, but it kind of sucks that the video didn't hold up like you wanted it to :/
I don't think it will be soon but I hope for a Mario Odyssey/Breath of the Wild scale Star Fox game... Pls Nintendo I NEED a good star fox game on switch!
Smash Switch Diamond & Pearl remakes New Zelda (I'm greedy) Luigi's Mansion 3 New Kid Icarus game (or at least a Switch port of Uprising) GameCube Virtual Console (starting with Melee) Mario Odyssey DLC New Mario Party game that goes back to the classic formula ...That's all I've got without going into third party territory, and that's where my desires start getting REALLY ridiculous.
Arlo Yay!!! New video
I love you
Arlo a new video
lol January is the new Christmas indeed, my Blue™ friend!
Happy New Year!
"Let's get playing that game now!" is gonna be the big breakout catchphrase of 2018.
TheLonelyGoomba I believe his catchphrase is now "Butternut Squash? Yes Please!"
Who says he can't have two catchphrases?
Yeah, but solid snake.
Dragonband He said that "Lets get playing that game now!" is gonna be the breakout catchphrase of 2018, note he said "catchphrase", I never said he could only say one, I just said his most iconic one
I remember you from a long time ago. "I'm a lonely goomba, stuck between two pipes, I guess I'll play this Gameboy, for the rest of my life"
Unless Odyssey gets dlc kingdoms, I really hope we don't have to wait for another console for another 3d Mario game. If the Switch is so great and successful then it should be able to last long enough to get another 3d Mario.
Benito 7 We'll most likely get Odyssey 2 sometime in 2019-20 similar to Galaxy.
I want sunshine kingdom
The IOS King and Throwback kingdom (Bobomb Battlefield)
And a Space/Galactic kingdom (nothing specific just Galaxy inspired)
Benito 7 I want a kingdom Kingdom, a throwback to Super Mario Odyssey.
You are missing the most important game...
1-3 Switch
AlmostFantastic i don't get it
no. you are missing Golden Eye 008
Γιάννης Πρεφτίτσης And Knuckles

OH MY GOSH I THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY FOR LOVING THE ACTIVITY LOG LOL. I've been pleading for a true activity log lol
Corn same lol
It's like achievements in a way. You just get to scroll through & see how much you've invested in a game. It's fun to look back & reflect on time spent.

I totally agree that a Luigi's Mansion should be for the switch, seeing as though the original one is my favorite game of all time! For me, I was really hoping for an HD remake with some new Amiibo!
Butter Nut Squash? Yes PleaeaeasE
Bob Bob why is everyone saying this lol
Bob Bob Yeah, but solid snake.
mcom234 Watch Arlo's game Grumps audition.
As crazy as it sounds, I want a Tomodachi Life sequel. In my opinion, it’s a very underrated 3ds game
Man of Matt W O K E
Thank you, I've wanted a sequel for the Switch for a while. It would be the first game to really house the Miis on Switch.
Man of Matt What about Miitopia?
Tomodachi Life and Miitopia, maybe?
I think it'll happen actually, they seem to be still interested with it and I believe it's relatively profitable with sells vs how long it takes to make.

Rewatching Arlo videos... His hopes for Metroid Prime were so pure and cute...
I really want a new Mario strikers game, I have so many fun memories of it on the wii
Oh yeah, mario strikers was my shit back then on the wii
Me too!! It would be perfect for the switch
Ugh that game made me want to kill people LOL.
Finally someone agrees! That was the best Mario sports game, and after ultra smash and Mario sports superstars, we need a good Mario sports game with flavor
Danial Boules YES
Arlo butter nut be wrong or ill be squashed
cool man that was the greatest use of words I have ever seen anyone use on the internet. 👏👏👏👏😂😂😂

Arlo in a thong.

Mario Galaxy 3
Smash Bros (won’t come out this year but still)

Mario Galaxy 3
Mario Chargers (is that the football one)
Virtual console
Fire Emblem
Pokemon
Mario Galaxy 3
Oh... did I remember *MARIO GALAXY 3*
Well on smash bros. YOU WERE WRONG IT'S COMING THIS YEAR (2018)
This didnt age well
Dope video! Here's the complete wishlist from Arlo's video!
*_Wishlist_*
0:57 *Pikmin 4* - Nope.
"Holiday celebrated everywhere like independence day"
I died at that. Hilarious.
Exnem Most countries have AN Independence Day or other holiday relating to the state, but not necessarily at the same time as America's.
Quite a few are in the summer though. Seems people like staking their claim when the weather's pleasant

6:18 Don't think I won't notice that Chuggaaconroy footage of New Leaf!
El Youkayee Chuggaa!!!
Hey everybody it's Chuggaaconroy welcome back to more Animal Crossing: New Leaf! Last time...

It's on the SNES Classic...
Tree Stomp I want them to put a virtual console with earthbound in it and all Wii U VC titles as well
Yes, the one Earthbound game is on the SNES Classic, but not the other 2 games from the series...
Arlo I've been a subscriber for a year or two now and I think that the fact you only have 200k subscribers is a crime. Your content is not only amazing and very well made but it appeals to all ages which is super admirable. I love ya man keep on that grind.
I want Nintendo to once again remember Escargoon.
I can't be the only one who knows who that is.

I want the dkc trilogy on switch especially 3 that game is freaking perfect
Xcaliber The Wise As awesome as DKC returns and tropical freeze is, I'm hoping for a new IP from retro with a port of tropical freeze.
Xcaliber The Wise Do you mean remakes of the trilogy or just the trilogy itself? Because I’m sure the DKC trilogy will come out on the virtual console just like it did on the 3ds and WiiU
and a new one too?
tropical freeze was great, it would be cool to see where they take it next
Love_Eater tropical freeze is my favorite game of all time. Id be happy off Retro gave us another
2 Was the best
Favorite thing about your channel, you actually have creative and/or interesting video ideas. Not enough tubers do that. Great work Arlo!
If there is no pikmin 4 anything (announcements, trailers, gameplay) I am going to flip my sh*t. Nintendo I've been waiting for pikmin 4 for 5 years!!!!!!!!!!! MAKE IT HAPPEN
HGPlays same
Same
HGPlays As Much as I like the series Pikmin 3 only sold 1.23 million units. Considering the game had been in development since 2009 it’s possible it didn’t make enough of a profit to justify continuing
Here's to hoping Nintendo subscribes to Arlo and sees this
if ur my mom whats ur name
Looking at your name I can only assume you were named after her. So I'M guessing Peter.
Well, they do give some of their games to Arlo for free so he can review them, so that’s a start.
Mom I wouldn't be surprised if someone at Nintendo watches these types of videos
Just subbed. Really like your channel so far
Rowan Verleijsdonk noice
Looks like you mostly just want the GameCube again ;). With a dash of Wii U.
Lads4Life did i say the gc games were not good ?
Even though I don't believe it will come out this year, the one game I truly want this year is Smash on the Switch.
I go out and meet up with friends all the time and almost every time we're out, we always wish we could just play smash on the Switch.
thebahooplamaster Too soon for it, will kill other ips around it in release dates.
They need to add bomberman, arms characters, splatoon characters, rex from xenoblade 2, Travis touchdown because suda51 said he wants him there, and you know the most important thing? SAKURAI HATES MAKING SMASH
eatl 96 Yeah Sakurai said there might not be a new game because it's so frustrating making a Smash game
Super NintenDoher I highly doubt we will get Smash for Switch but we might get it
Super NintenDoher True
Well we certainly got information about metroid... even if it was about the project restarting
The best time to watch those prediction videos are after we know how it went down in my opinion, been bingeing Smash predictions and 2018 predictions lately
We all know all that Arlo wants this year is a Butternut Squash!
OgreJoe yes please
Yeah, but Solid Snake
alright, we hit both memes, thread complete. Move along folks!
my wishlist: a new F-Zero game
TheMighty TacoMan Hyes!!!!
Ren Amamiya or buy a Nintendo 64 and copy of Super Mario 64 game.
C.D. Riley I have both of those things.
dangerdude good! Now you don't need to wait anymore. :)
Paper Mario.
I'm one of the few that liked Color Splash. So please. Paper Mario. Paper. Mario. Mario with Paper.
(Edit: I don't love Color Splash with all of my heart, I just casually like it. I've never tried TTYD, but it sounds better.)
if they do make another paper Mario I hope it’s more like TTYD than sticker star
Please no. Paper Mario has suffered enough. Just enjoy your Color Trash
Colour splash was...fine but I would prefer a remake of the first 2 games
Jonah DeWitt
So you'd rather leave Paper Mario to die rather than get a game that has the chance to be good?
Vezerlo Productions TTYD is so good you really gotta play it
Of everything here, I want Animal Crossing the most.
Hahahahahahahahah
@@ZComma and still playing it, a year later. Hahahahahahaha
LET'S GET PLAYING THAT GAME NOW!
Never had a Wii U so obviously I haven’t played three
Pikmin is the most underrated series, and pikmin 2 is amazing!
kingjonny yeah pikmin 2 is the best pikmin
Miguel Aguilar one of those great moments you don't get now where you stumble upon a great game, though I really want to play 3 still
If Nintendo keeps taking risks and actually listening to fans...
Another donkey kong country game too while we're at it (although that's more likely than a 3d DK game unfortunately)
StalePangolin
We need the comeback of the DK crew. Where's Chunky kong?
Or the guy with this:
*HE HAS NO STYLE, HE HAS NO GRACE, THIS KONG HAS A FUNNY FACE.*
I hope his coconut gun still fires in spurts
KitCloud1 Dude, I agree wholeheartedly. DK64 doesn't get nearly the love it deserves. It's possible, though, that Rare (now Microsoft) owns the newcomers from that game, like Lanky and Chunky, which would steal some of the nostalgia points if Nintendo tried reintroducing much of that game's concepts. I'm tired of such a great game only living on in memes of its theme song. :-( Go DK Switch!
My hopes would be
New wario land or better yet wario world
GameCube virtual console
Odyssey DLC sunshine and galaxy themed with Delfino plaza and comet observatory
New donkey kong country
Yes! Finally I'm not the only one who wants another Donkey Kong game.
One problem
Those dust collecting IPs never set any records unique to permit any other interest in sequels unless a second/third party company wishes to.
Which is why FZero on the GCN is Sega developed.
they actually ARE Nintendo IPs, just not made in house by the likes of EAD or R&D1.
Nah I would almost expect Pokemon Switch to come out this year, especially with Nintendo wanting to sell 20 million Switch's this fiscal year.
The bayonetta 3 announcement added something to my 2018 wish list. A Switch. Never thought I’d ever say that
ShinjiGT007 Plays Bayonetta 3 makes you want to buy a Switch but Mario Odyssey didnt?
Marco D. Toon, to be fair. Mario isn't everybody's thing.
Gamebro Yeah but the best game of all times should be everybody's thing
Marco D. Toon, not really. I mean, I understand that the RPG genre has some of the greatest games of all time, but I'm not a big fan of playing them because I find them boring and way too long.
It's just called a preference.
Marco D. Toon Mario was never really my big thing. Even going back to the NES.
Shocker. Never was a huge Zelda fan either.
Is that New Leaf footage from mah boi Chuggaaconroy?! Good taste, Arlo. Good taste.
I just love how frequently Arlo uses Metroid Prime music. Sweet, sweet atmospheric music...
I want nintnedo to make a Zelda Shrine maker
KyroSkee I honestly wouldn’t mind a Zelda maker game. You can make dungeons in the styles of the first game, LTTP, Minish Cap, and A Link Between Worlds. A shrine maker would be interesting, but how would that work with the 3D environments? Honestly I would take either one if they got them to work right. That would be so cool!
YES
I hope for Tomodachi Life 2, Animal Crossing and a good Virtual Console with NES, SNES, GameBoy, N64, Gamecube and maybe Wii.
The only reason Wii U had Wii on "virtual console" was because it had a Wii mode
THANK YOU!! I have not ONCE heard anybody mention TL2, I loved that game :O
whispery That game doesn’t exist
I like how critical and open you are with a lotta games you play. Even though Paper Mario may never go back to normal (sadly), and how Nintendo seems to be completely oblivious to what their fans want on various occasions- you still look positive. You’re not afraid to show your opinions to the public. That’s what I like about your opinions and videos, and I’m glad I subscribed to this channel. Look forward to new videos every month.
"Christmas? What's Christmas? Throw it in the TRASH CAN!"
Off to a good start.
Kid Icarus on Switch please
My wish list (doesn't have to be released, just announced):
Kid Icarus Sequel
Metroid Prime 4 info (I don't expect it to be released this year)
Pikmin 4
Pokémon Switch info (actual info, not rumors)
Animal Crossing Switch
Virtual Console with a good lineup
DLC worlds for Odyssey would be cool but not necessary
Actual Paper Mario game
N64 Classic
Mario Maker port or sequel
For my out there, almost never gonna happen request: Xenoblade Chronicles HD
I still don't get that. Prime 4's been floating around for ten years and Tanabe's been working on the story since 2015. How do people expect this to be released so far off just because the _teaser_ didn't have gameplay?
Dogman_35 Because the teaser said "Now in development". We don't know how far that is. Remember, we got a teaser TRAILER for Breath of the Wild in 2014 and it didn't come out until 2017
YES, AN ACTUAL PAPER MARIO SEQUEL PLEASE
+Nintendoman1998 Well on top of it being the Wii U, an annoyingly hard to develop for console, and Nintendo's ONLY game to get that many delays from it's original date... it was also their first shot at open world in a first party game _ever_ and took a longer time to develop than they were expecting. Not a single Switch game has been delayed. Mario Odyssey came _earlier_ than expected. They're living up to their promise of not announcing games so early another BotW situation happens, so far.

Specific feature request for Splatoon 2; enable cross region matchmaking so I can play with the much larger Japanese playerbase
And make it so literally 15% of all games don't involve a disconnect. Seriously, the disconnect problem is HUGE due to unstable online
Ryukachoo my dream is split screen multiplayer
This may come with online play. I don't know about splitscreen though, it looked like a sneaky business decision to get more to populate online since it's the series they seem to be putting the most online features in...
Huh? I get matched with Japanese players all the time.
SongForEverything
If you're interested the Seattle area you'll get them
If you aren't already being matched with Japan, being matched with them now will make your disconnect problem worse. It's ping based matchmaking, so you're being connected to people with better connections to you. You're basically asking them to make it an even bigger problem.
Funny how your 2018 predictions were correct... in 2019
5:30 Looking at this now, after the Let's Go reveal, this almost seems mildly prophetic, what with the first image showing both Pikachu and Eevee.
Butternut squash?
*Y E S P L E A S E*
wonder what Retro has been working on for nearly 4 years
Me to
Hopefully they show what it is at direct next week.
Nintendo freak what's releasing Feb 6th?
I still want zelda "breath of the suburbs." Links has a telemarketing job
I still want "The Legend of Link"
Everybody will call Zelda "Link"
It'll be great
Ooh, and in place of high tech like it BotW, since he works with technology all day, he uses back to nature boy scout tactics to defeat enemies in BotS.
Lol.
Tessa Bain lol, that would be awesome!
Samuel Voltz lol
I found you from Lockstin's channel and I glad I did.
P.s. I subbed about a month ago
I know that this is very unlikely but I'm hoping for a new paper Mario game that's like TTYD and 64 if not at least a 64 HD
I love that your Pokémon wish/prediction starts with footage of Pikachu fighting Eevee. Really weird coincidence!!
Butternut Squash, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees please!
How about Mario Kart Maker?
Karnage Fails ah yes
Or Super Mario Maker Maker, a game- inception.
MalarkeyMan CorneaCrewPro.
So basically little big planet karting
tu amigo tapu koko But more fun
EthanDraws looking at Breath of The Wild I really don't believe that switch carts are that tight on space
Who else thinks we need a waluigi game for once am I right
As cool as it would be, they'll never do it. Like, look at Wario Land, it was never a popular series, and I don't think Wario Ware did much better. At best, Waluigi is just a meme, and having him star in his own game is just not feasible
One of my wishes has been granted, Rivals of Aether is on it’s way!
+Noah Huebel I found out about that game today and it looks good. I had no idea it existed but apparently it's really famous in the Smash community. I'm gonna look it into more but from the little I saw it's a really nice game.
Butternut Squash Game in 2018? YES PLEASE
No mention if Donkey Kong?! C'mon when need another DK64! As in that type of DK, cause we all know about...................rArE
Adam Crawford Unless you have a new 3DS XL.
Why would you ever get rid of it!?
kingjonny I wouldn't personally. It's just a great little system with a ton of replayable games.
Power of L that fits in my pockets fine, dude. What kind of pockets do you have?
Adam Crawford You have small pockets?
I got a switch with Mario odyssey for Christmas:-)
Gratz, try watching some Zelda botw videos, to see if its to your liking, the game is amazing.
Good for you child
Nice. Good luck getting 999 moons
Congrats!
MCPE ROBOT nice i got it when it came out. But srsly nice everyone needs a switch
I LOVE arlos idea for animal crossing multiplayer! Walking up to your shops and seeing all your friends hanging out would be amazing! Of course i would also like to still be able to go straight to my friends town but i think nintendo should build on this idea somehow.
Lovin' all of the chugga footage
Yeah but solid snake
stop.
Never
Yeah, but butternut squash
Andrew Hopson this whole comment is dumb lol
The Vita's only really doing fine in Japan, everywhere else it's basically just an indie machine. I do agree that the Switch isn't an ideal first handheld, being tablet sized makes it less practical for smaller pockets, but I'm not sure what you mean by home consoles being a bit of a hassle for younger gamers.
Matthew Hutchinson thanks for getting the proper information. Appreciated. I guess a part of me is quite worried with the whole "hybrid" theme. Just because the system is portable doesn't mean it can replace the portable systems.
Andrew Hopson too bad it already replaced 3ds
Luigi's mansion was announced to be remastered this year so I don't think it will be likely this year but maybe 2019
Knowing how Nintendo has been handling DLC recently, I really hope we get Odyssey DLC this year.
*I need to go back to Delfino man*
It seems inevitable that the game will get DLC
Something that might be too much to ask for, but I think a Hyrule Kingdom would be awesome, along with a Luigi campaign. Oh and Captain Lou Albano and Bob Hoskins Mario outfits we need those.
A dinosaur land DLC and a Donkey Kong DLC adding the island out of DK 64
I want a new Kid Icarus game! One with more awesome visual effects and Pit's heartbreaking origins!
Butternut Squash? YES PLEASE!
I want those red turnip from Ac Wild World back
Butternut squash? YES PULLEESE
lb2k0415 yeah but solid snake....
Independence day :D Thanks for giving me a laugh there Arlo, nice video!
And here we are, on the cusp of 2019 with those desires unfulfilled. Not that Nintendo hasn't delivered us other quality content, of course, but it kind of sucks that the video didn't hold up like you wanted it to :/
Butternut squash? Yes please
WarioWare Switch. Please, god.
y e s
unless they mess it up like Game & Wario
That would be cool, I love warioware touched.
I don't think it will be soon but I hope for a Mario Odyssey/Breath of the Wild scale Star Fox game... Pls Nintendo I NEED a good star fox game on switch!
Spider- Venom or built a time Machine.
Smash Switch
Diamond & Pearl remakes
New Zelda (I'm greedy)
Luigi's Mansion 3
New Kid Icarus game (or at least a Switch port of Uprising)
GameCube Virtual Console (starting with Melee)
Mario Odyssey DLC
New Mario Party game that goes back to the classic formula
...That's all I've got without going into third party territory, and that's where my desires start getting REALLY ridiculous.
"What Nintendo can do however is lend out more of their IPs to skilled studios"
Team Ninja making Xtreme Princess Peach Volleyball confirmed.
