I was a ride op at fantasy island in 2015/2016, i can tell you, the biggest limiting factor for rollercoasters there is the wind, thats why fantasy islands geography favours flat rides, at other parks, there further inland, and less affected by the wind Magic mouse rollercoasters work well at fantasy island, as there not to fussy about high winds If they were going to build another massive coaster, design advice they could use is some kind of tunnels around the track of the coasters to shield the train from the wind, to stop it slowing down too much, and stop it coming close to stall speed, which is a big factor with Odyssey, not so much millennium, as its more streamlined Some kind of powered coaster would work well, or a traditional coaster but with additional booster wheels and motors to drive it round the track where needed, or a coaster with multiple chain lifts incorporated into its design In my personal opinion, and knowing what i know, they should abandon the two caravan parks they own, and build rides there, one being eastgate site, the other being sunnymead on the other side of the road I also know other things about the park, such as, the original design of Odyssey saw it going across sea lane and back Where the old McDonalds building is, could be useful space to extend the log flume, now, that would be incredible, as the single drop in my opinion is a little pitiful The market in my eyes is utter crap too, they could scrap the market completely and put rides in its place Also, if i owned fantasy island, id build Odyssey into a massive building, and make it all indoors, to make that less susceptible to the wind, or at least house some of its critical phases inside
I defo think an rmc raptor clone or a custom one could be in store, mellors might want to spend less money on the project so rmc is a prime candidate. Maybe a relocated Rita could be cool, especially if it's refurbished by zamperla
Hi Eye Coaster very intresting video all the good rides are sent to suadi arabia now look at the air maxx 360 thay only had it a month and that sent it to suadi arabia i would do the same if i owned the park maby bring back some of the old rides
It gets sent to Saudi because that makes 10x the money FI has ever made haha. Even more so when those rides are actually brought by the Saudi government investment fund.
@@EyeCoaster bless ya haha the beast will never come back to the UK as it don't exist any more well not as the beast anyways haha it was painted white and rethemd to speed buzz.
A woodie is usually my personal preference, but I've always thought a hyper or junior hyper would suit Fantasy Island most. It wouldn't need to be huge, but that said, it's one of the few places that could actually get the height record back from Thorpe Park. B&M would be ideal, or Mack, but also possibly Vekoma (thinking of the unused Energylandia design).
Mellors are sitting on a lot of money, and if they wanted they could take a number of UK records. I think we are most likely going to see either the UK's tallest, or longest Roller Coaster. If I had to bet money, I would say the tallest. I could see Fantasy Island going 300ft plus with B&M. But we'll have to see. Fantasy Island love making a spectacle with their rides.
In the fact of having maybe B&M or a woodie I don’t know if it would ever happen a because of cost B&Ms aren’t exactly cheap going and then for woodies they would Be a nightmare espcially On the coast to maintain
A new coaster will come soon, 2024 would make sense, (new coaster as in permenant coaster) , mellors have purchased two coasters from premier rides for there foreign operation, premier rides could Be a posobility, I also believe vekoma could be a opertunity, wether that be a rmc raptor (as vekoma broker European deals for rmc) a single rail or a space warp, I don’t think that b&M or geurslaurer is a posobility as they are to expensive. I would personally add a RMC raptor, the standard layout would work, it would be easy for them to do due to their connection with Vekoma (Vekoma broker rmc deals in Europe) . It’s great to see that mellors are adding a new wild mouse coaster for the 23 season aswell , 😊
Mellors have alot of money - If they wanted to, they could go B&M or Geurst. That's not to say they will however. I feel like RMC would be great if they can get the health and safety signed off (this is why we haven't seen one yet). A Rator would suit the park very nicely. I'd like to see this interact with the fair ground, or maybe Oddy.
@@EyeCoaster most of mellors money gets invested into there foreign operation, they’ve purchased a premier ride coaster out there, (sky rocket two), so premier rides could be a possibility, I don’t think a b&M would be in budget for fantasy island, considering they usually allowcate around a million per year for the park, I’m sure they’ll allowcate more soon for a new coaster soon but I don’t think it’ll enough for a b&m
@@EyeCoaster nothing permanent will come to FI as all the UK money mellors have allocated is going to rebuild the Skegness pier which they also now own.
Mellors have a new coaster coming to fantasy Island but you theme park fans will NOT like what it is haha 😆 they are getting a revechon XXL mouse it's one of a kind and it's being built in the mellors yard already. You won't be getting any new permanent roller coasters. They only other thing that's finally getting ready to be built is the star shape that was planned for 2021 but is now finally on ground.
i LOVE it when theme park youtubers do these sorts of videos!!
Why thank you Jeff!

This is actually a really good comment! If Alton did get rid of Rita, it would be a good way of getting a new Coaster at the park
Rita wouldn’t be a bad shout, but there isn’t enough space for it, plus it wouldn’t increase visitor numbers enough to justify the cost

Just to be honest its good but adding the roller coasters would ruin fantasy island in my opinion
I personally disagree - I think that Fantasy Island has manured nicely around its existing lineup - I can't help but feel something new is needed now

I know about XXL, I think its an interesting choice. But its another roller coaster to tick off the list
