I'm becoming more aware of the rigidity and guardedness this whole aspect of needing to be perfect and get it right creates in me. I think it is so pervasive and familiar in my life that I just don't recognise it a lot of the time. Thank you so much Hannah for your courage and willingness to be real and open. I'm having so many aha moments and making connections in my own life from listening to you. I'm also going to be watching out and writing the thoughts of the inner critic down and generally try to identify them more. Its so great that you and your team have put this series together Alex. Thank you, it's proving to be a valuable source of information and motivation for me. Needing to be perfect and get it right in order to feel loved and safe - that really hit home on a deeper level tonight.

Hannah, Sally and Lauren are so brave, their vulnerability has helped me to be more vulnerable, speak up and seek more support from friends. Thank you ladies !

Hannah, You might not realize, but you are a superhero! Your strength shines through. I am on the same journey you are on with much the same struggles. Your sincerity and will to change and grow inspire me. I believe in you!!

Hannah it takes courage to follow the path to recovery but to share your journey is really exceptionally brave. Watching you describe your experiences was like looking in the mirror for me and it has helped me orient myself in a way that I often find difficult on my own. I hope you benefit as much from your online sessions as those of us who witness your progress and are inspired to keep going. Thank you!

Hannah, you are amazing for doing this. I can relate to so much of what you have been/are going through and watching this video has helped me more than you will ever know. You and Alex have really helped me get back on track as to what I need to be focusing on in my recovery. Thank you both

Just want to let Hannah know that you are not alone and we all struggle with the inner critic. Perfectionism is a very interesting pattern and we just want to do things well and get things right all the time( very, very exhausting). Many gifted people are perfectionists and highly sensitive so it is a constant struggle sometimes when we beat up on ourselves for getting things wrong. I respect your vulnerability when sharing your story on the internet it would not be easy to do. Gaining insight from your therapy and how you are healing would be helping so many people in a very collective way. I am very grateful. I liked what Alex said" Reclaim your power and go gently" You are doing so well Hannah, all the best and have fun.

I wish there was a Love button! I´m so grateful to you Hannah because you always manage to express everything that´s going on for me with such calm clarity (take THAT inner critic!) as opposed to my shotgun brain that fires all over the place (which I think might be quite challenging for a therapist, so I´m really quite pleased to receive the proper therapy vicariously through you haha!)

Thank you for this episode. I have been working on my inner critic/perfectionist tendencies lately as well so this conversation helped me and made me feel less alone in the experience. Hannah you are so open and honest and truly a gentle, yet strong soul. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of the participants and Alex and team for making these videos.

Wow! So much in here to reflect on! I think I’ll have to watch it again as so much of it, relates to me.
Hannah, I can see you are so much calmer and your voice is stronger and steadier ( love your lockdown hair too! 😊)
Really great stuff. Thank you for being so amazing.
Alex! I love your filming! Very creative! Great work as always! Thank you.

Listening to these episodes is so very helpful. I've been on a journey to love and accept myself for some 16 years (after 33 years of very severe depression/anxiety, which prevented me from having anything like a normal life. I have finally gotten to a place where I love/accept who I am pretty much do most of the time. But now you're giving me more tools to work with any remaining unkindnesses I hold toward myself--especially those that are more unconscious.
I took a couple of Inner Bonding course by Dr. Margaret Paul, and that helped me a lot. Then, last summer, after going thru what I'd call a Dark Night of the Soul, I came out being more able to properly mother my inner child.
I will listen to every video Alex puts online because I'll soon be starting to study (at age 75!!) life coaching, and these videos contain incomparable intuitive knowledge and approaches which will add to my understanding of and compassion for those who I work with in the future.

This is so good and so helpful. I really appreciated the ways your brought into the conversation about trying to find love by being more perfect and also how Hannah can empower herself through recognizing the strength of the inner critic. Hannah is so brave and I am really impressed by how well she does communicate and assimilate so much on the go.

Carol: I found this video particularly enlightening. Having been on the Reset programme, I realise listening to Hannah, that I have progressed past this point in my healing and wish Hannah good luck on her healing path. I can assure you Hannah that it is possible to succeed and regain a good quality of life after suffering with CFS.

Hey Alex, do you thing think that someone's level of intelligence and perfectionism has something to do with the speed of their recovery? Hanna seems to be very intelligent and introspective without any defensivness, and I think her willingness to heal shows through.

Took me 55 years to begin to realise how my r'ship with my father may have affected me. I knew it must have, but did not know how. I hated him from a very young age. He did not physically or mentally abuse me, but was emotionally unavailable and seemed to only interact with me to discipline me. He often was very angry. We had a lot of fighting and shouting in our home. Hearing Alex say that your inner critic can be a continuation of that harsh, critical, unpredictable parental figure ..wow ...I get it now, that is where it may be coming from ! So harsh on myself for so long. Thank you 🙏

Hannah, well done on doing all of this work now. It is going to be so helpful in your future. I have met so many women in their 30’s and 40’s who would have really benefited from all of the awareness that Alex speaks about at your age.

I feel always oppressed , i should do something else, I am wasting time right now,(24th min)fulfilling of chores in the right order, it made me feel good about myself, I am just writing this in order to be in the same pace and not only watching it! We are not so powerless at all, we /I just think that way!

I have no idea why really but this video, especially at the end, made my stomach tie up in knots and it wasn't even about me! Hannah is so brave to come back time and time again and keep plugging away. I think Hannah had to say what she has about her Dad in order to address it. Nothing she has ever said has made me think she is being nasty in any way. I think you should be really proud, Hannah x x

Hannah, thank you for all you are sharing and putting out there. I can only speak from my own perspective, as a viewer, but if it is okay to say so, I think you are great just as you are. You have so many nice qualities to your personality, and your willingness to be vulnerable like this, has created feelings of friendship and connection with you, even though all of us viewing have never met, and in some cases, are overseas. Being yourself is enough. Don't worry about being perfect for others (*easier said than done!), seeing as others, such as your friends, are very lucky to have someone as genuine as you are.
Also, as a side note to Alex and Oliver, I really liked the cinematography on this one. I loved the nature scenes, and the cottage in the woods, and the intermission with the sounds and view of the stream, overlapping the audio of the dialogue. It is a dream of mine to live in a setting like that once I finish healing and have the option.

Thank you again Hannah and Alex and the team behind these videos ❤️. This resonated so much. You are so brave and are helping so many people by saying it how it is. I can't thank you enough. I will go back now and see how my perfectionist pattern and inner critic are keeping me from feeling and understanding my emotions. I keep telling my daughter that getting things wrong is good because you learn so much more when you do. I have trouble remembering that and applying it to my life journey. You are an inspiration.

Alex--I signed up for the Super Conference a couple weeks ago, but never got an email this week. Most summits/online conferences send emails out each day of the summit to remind people to watch. Glad I was reminded as i was able to locate it online.
