    A bit confused, you guys had both so why not review the Alphard as well? Unless those Alphard footage was filmed separately.

    Apologies, everyone. The previous-gen AH30 Vellfire/Alphard 2.5 also had a CVT, not a 6-speed auto. Only the pre-facelift 3.5 V6 had a 6AT.
    My thoughts on the CVT in this video remains true, however. Not the best combo at all.

      More stylish but a lot less usable or practical. If you want a luxury barge, there's no point going SUV as they're compromised in every way.

      Yeah. In Oz, most would get a 3 row large SUV instead. Toyota Klugger, Mazda CX90, CX80, Palisade etc

    Also Hafriz i agree, i love vehicles with physical volume and aircond knobs just like the land rovers . Its absolutely bonkers when folks replace theirs with the modern day touch screen and remove all those physical buttons which takes more $ to engineer !

    the previous Vellfire or Alphard 2.5 use CVT as well, only the 3.5L V6 use 6EAT for pre facelift versiOn, the new facelift use 8EAT for the 3.5 V6

    why toyota didnt fit the 2.5 NA dynamic force with the 8 speed auto? can't fit?

      @@ShawalAli-t8d in most other markets, they do, but with eCVT tranny and Hybrid A25A FXS powertrain. The planetary gears in eCVT is way superior to the old CVT tranny

      @@ShawalAli-t8d my Lexus NX250 (on TNGA-K platform) have that configuration. It’s fantastic setup IMHO for user experience and for those that don’t like CVT/eCVT. And yes, Aisin 8 speed torque converter tranny is way more expensive cost wise to Toyota/Lexus

      @@ShawalAli-t8d it does fit in a TNGA-K platform. My NX250 has that 8 speed torque converter tranny on it. It is certainly a lot more expensive than the eCVT tranny and a lot more fun to drive

    Forget these 2. Just buy the Zeekr 009. Rides like a magic carpet. The build quality is also so much better. Very luxurious feel inside the cabin.
    Most importantly, the design of the Zeekr 009 doesn't make me feel like a limousine driver.😂

    whether he is just a driver or an owner, the arrogant attitude is always present in the driver. always be polite when driving. A luxury car needs good manners, then it looks like a real luxury. if the wife is hot-tempered, open the window and scold people, don't let her drive your luxury car. downgrade your luxury car.

    the platform while toyota claim to be tnga-k but its actually an refresh of the old, nothing similar to those on camry or es

    Old 2.5 uses CVT, i owned one and it does the same thing too mimicking a regular AT when going full throttle. To me the power is sufficient enough as a family car

      Old one uses 2.5 2ARFE engine. New one uses 2.5 A25A Dynamic Force engine. Way better low torque and lower fuel consumption. But too bad that UMW didn’t bring in the Hybrid

      @ In Malaysia, the vellfire retains the old engine which is the 2AR-FE. Power and torque figures also remain the same.

      @@kiatfoongchong2606 in Oz, most Toyota/Lexus hybrids from 2010 are still alive and well till today. Many in US reported battery failures after 20 years/300,000 miles or around 500,000kms

      Actually, Toyota/Lexus Nulux synthetic leather is very comfy and more durable than real leather. In Oz, I had a Lexus CT200h and the driver seat leather started to show wear signs after around 3 years. My current NX250 with Nulux still looks brand new after close to 32 months

    How is it so that Toyota had to buy Engines and Gearbox from BMW to fund the Supra project ( because they were afraid they wont get their ROI back if they were to make their own ) and yet they can engineer a totally separate Gearbox and Engine for Alphards & vellfires JUST for the malaysian market alone ? Mind blowing stuff...

      Because the Alphard is a volume seller for chauffeurs and the Supra is meant to be driven like a sports car.
