I learned the "pantry theory" from my Mom. We lived in the middle of nowhere and she kept a well-stocked pantry for everyday and emergencies. It was a habit I adopted and it has served me well over the years (I'm 76). You are doing such a service for those responsible for feeding their families. I never had chickens because we've always lived in a city where the city codes didn't allow them. You can bet if I could have, I would have! You've sold me for sure! Your garden is fabulous! I also enjoy watching you and Rusty work as a couple for the best life you can provide for your children. You're a great American family!

As a Brit I can't believe nobody wants your eggs. We don't wash our eggs like you and so they don't need to be kept in a fridge. Would love your eggs. Have you tried mixing eggs with cottage cheese salt pepper and put it in a flan dish and bake in the oven on low to medium heat. You can add anything to it like mushrooms, peppers, ham etc. Really nice and healthy goes well with salad. Love watching you and your family even if I do think egg and sausage with pancakes is weird. ❤

This can be done and spread out on a parchment lined baking sheet. Once frozen put in a freezer bag. If you can find the patty size cut parchment paper (I have found at Dollar Tree) you can stack the frozen cooked eggs with one in between if not I get the parchment sheets and cut them down. Works out great. The stay good in a freezer bag for awhile as long as the air is kept out of the bag. If this makes sense.

Here are a few things I do with extra eggs. First, I make egg bites. Chop up some veggies you have in the house, get out a muffin pan and spray. Add a bit of each veggie, crack an egg on top, pinch of salt and pepper mix inside the little muffin cup with a toothpick and bake 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes until done and store in freezer or fridge as quick breakfast or snacks. Second: Simply boil up a couple of dozen as prep for adding to salads or making a quick egg salad. This one is especially good for older eggs. It is a good protein snack for the family when they get a burst of snacking.

A good tip I’ve learned for when you have an over abundance of eggs. You can freeze them. Yep, brake them in ice cubes trays, freeze then when they are solid just put them in a ziplock. When you’re chickens aren’t producing as many you still have reserve. If you want a perfect fried or sunny side up just place the frozen cube in a pan & cover. By the time it thaws, the white cooks without overcooking the yoke. It may even work for poached eggs but I’ve never tried.

👍😊❣️ I love how you froze lots of egg sandwiches and burritos for Breakfast, Lunch, or Supper.* Another way to preserve eggs is to scramble up your extra eggs pour them into ice cube trays, raw, (I have special ones from dollar tree for this, or you can put a few in a baggie or container) Freeze them. Take them out of the trays, put them in a zip lock bag, and keep frozen until you need them. Each cube equals 1 medium egg. Thaw in fridge or in a plastic bag submerged in water. Use for baking or frying. Then you have eggs for the times the chickens stop laying. Also works good when there's a good sale on eggs. If your not sure if you will like them this way, just make a few then try cooking them to see how they taste. PS. They need to be scrambled or the yolks broken because freezing can make the yolks tuff.😊

Then pull out of freezer, using parchment paper square between each slice of raw French toast, then place in ziploc bag. Put back in freezer until ready to use. When ready to use just cook the way you do normally.

If you still have eggs next Friday you could do some muffins or some individual desserts. French toast freezes well too and speaking of hot pockets you can make them into breakfast versions. Whatever you do, breakfast, lunch or dinner it'll be great. I enjoyed this video a lot and shout out to Kylan for being such a great helper.

So glad I found your channel. I have been stocking up my food pantry for years. My parents always taught us to always be prepared for anything. My husband’s parents were the same way. I enjoyed your freezer breakfast sandwiches and burritos. I have been cooking eggs in the oven for a while now. It’s so much easier. I even cook eggs in muffin tins so they are round for biscuits. I scramble, do sunny side up, over easy and over medium round eggs for biscuits, breakfast muffins and bagels.

Love this series and will be looking forward to Fridays even more now! As much as I love the make it to payday videos, having a pantry and making your own convenience foods can save a lot of money and hopefully prevent the need for the make it to payday meals. I made biscuits with ingredients I had in my pantry after your BnG video, instead of a packet of mix from the Dollar Tree. I like to keep the packets on hand for camping and quick meals, but making them from scratch when I have time will save money.

I thought about this a bit more: if I had too many eggs and would fix quiche: 2 kinds are always readily devoured: 1)bacon quiche or ham quiche, and 2) leek or onion quiche- or spinach quiche-if I was going to freeze, I would make a crustless quiche or make the crust out of cracker crumbs--if you had eggs every day--I would cut the quiche into eight pieces, and then I would sell them out of my freezer for extra cash--$6 for a half quiche, $10 for a whole quiche and $3 for a slice. I would sell them to people for a quick breakfast, lunch or dinner. I think that you would have lots of people eating your quiche in short order. All you need is around 8 eggs and milk or cream--that's it (and the filling that you add)...easy, easy, easy...
Also, with crepes: they are as easy to make as pancakes, but the batter is thinner; you can freeze them in batches of 4 or 5 and just take out what you need; the beauty of crepes is that you can fill them with a savory filling (creamy mushroom or ham) or a sweet filling (strawberries and cream or peaches)--there is no end to how many different fillings you can make for them...these too could easily be sold for extra cash--those hens could be one of your best investments, if you use their products quickly and effectively...good luck! lucky you! dt sandlin

I would love to see how you rotate your stock of foods. We have trouble making sure that the right cans are used first? Always end up finding something in the back that's expired I'd love to see how you avoid that.

also, another good use for eggs: crepes--then you can freeze or refrigerate...egg shells: wash, save, dehydrate/dry, blend in blender to dust--then you have homemade calcium powder (that they charge $25/lb for at Walmart in the pharmacy) to put in smoothies, on salads, in soups, for a calcium boost (great for building strong bones)--this powder does not have any taste---but is strong in vitamins for your good health...dts/usa

My pantry and freezer are well stocked. I believe in a well stocked pantry. A local store had 40lbs of chicken wings for $40, and these wings were the whole wing and huge. I put 16 to a bag for 3 people and got 12 bags! So, a little over $3 per meal.
We do our omelets on a baking pan in the oven. Love this idea for breakfast sandwiches.

believe it or not, I just purchased a small individual leek quiche at a local grocery store (in the freezer section)--it did not contain cheese--and it was delicious--so save your money on the cheese ingredient--you can make quiches for next to nothing and then sell them for cash--2 individual size quiches (like 2 slices) were $2.50 on sale (regularly $4) and you can also do a partially baked quiche frozen that someone can cook the rest of the way, as well...dts/usa

Giirrrrrrllllluhhhh!!, if we were neighbors you could sure give them away to me and I would gratefully make some kind of cake or something and give it to y'all to show appreciation. I was raised on farm fresh eggs! Anything you bake is better with them too. Tired if paying high prices for eggs. People don't know what that are missing!!!! Thanks for sharing your ideas !!!!!
