    Wow, after 30 years, Glory finally feels good enough to reproduce. It was sad watching those instincts in her. At the end of video, you could see how relaxed Glory was in her eyes. The shape of her eyes. Incredible. She is a darling bird and you Carolin have done an excellent job with her.

    If you let her have a baby I think that she would be happy and also it would be so interesting to see videos of her laying and the baby. If Love is too young, can you borrow another male to fertilize?

    • @CarolinvonPetzholdt
      @CarolinvonPetzholdt Год назад

      Very Good thought. No one will borrow anyone a male hyacinth because of the rarity. Also the male needs to be constantly together with the female. If one wants to breed, they need to own the pair

    Do not give them any mushy warm foods that resembles regurgitation uncooked oats only no cage cover, no soft toys those things encourage hormonal behavior and nesting especially during hormonal seasons which are spring, summer and fall fresh chop, hard boiled eggs, omelets, cooled scrambled eggs, homemade seed mix, pellets and fruit in moderation are the only things you should give a bird.

    I am sorry Carolin, but there is a romance going on between Glory and Love. Glory want to become a mom, that is only natural behaviour. In the wild, she maybe would have produced a few little blue hyacinths on her age. Why can't she have at least 1 or maybe 2 little ones, because you can sell them for a lot of money. I don't know how Glory is going to behave in the future if she understand that she cannot produce at least 1 little birdie of her own. There is a chance that she become vicious. I thought that you would love to have a little hyacinth from Glory and Love, but it seem that I made a mistake. I feel sorry for Glory, just as I fell for Faith, because I realize that birds are no pets, and therefore you cannot treat them like that.

    • @Digital_Potion
      @Digital_Potion 2 года назад +1

      Actually Carolin is not to blame. Regardless of what she may or may not desire as far as breeding Glory & Love… Love is simply too young, he’s sexually immature.

    • @adrievandijk
      @adrievandijk 2 года назад

      @@Digital_Potion: I was concentrating on Glory, she is 30 years old now? If Love, now 3 years old? is still sexually immature, then the eggs cannot be fertilized by Love. But woudn't Glory instinctive know that? I think she would know. Just give it a chance.

    • @Digital_Potion
      @Digital_Potion 2 года назад +2

      @@adrievandijk I have only small birds, all male, so I can’t speak from experience as to whether Glory is aware or not. Altho, given their sensitivity to hormones, one would think she would be. However, your original remark came across somewhat accusatory toward Carolin. Not knowing if you were aware of Love’s young age, I just wanted to bring that to your attention.

    • @adrievandijk
      @adrievandijk 2 года назад

      @@Digital_Potion: I don't accuse Carolin, I know that she love her birds dearly. She wants them to be happy, and we, the loyal cvp's, love them too. But I hoped that Carolin would give Glory a chance, because of her age. Love is young, but I count on Glory's instinct. In a few years she is too old, and that is why I say. If it comes to nothing then that is a pitty for Glory, but it isn't a loss. The least you can do is, just give it a chance. I personally would take that chance, for Glory's sake.

    • @Digital_Potion
