Temples of Palghat 13 Sreekrishnapuram and Kadampazhipuram

Perumanghat Vamanapuram Vishnu temple is famous for getting progeny. Once an Antharjanam prayed for a child and Vamana (Vishnu) appeared before her and blessed for a child. There was a school of vedic studies here. Until 1945 there were 200 scholars participating in the veda sadas called Thrisandha from here. This sabha of scholars functioned for 9 months an year and 3 months were holidays. There were 10 Illams as Ooralars. Of these now 5 exists. Iswaramangalam Mahaganapathi temple has Shiva as main idol. But Upadeva Ganapathi is more powerful. Thidappalli is in front of Ganapathy so that Appam is made in front of the Lord. Here no Ganapathi Homam is performed.Only breaking of coconuts done. There is a Vishnu temple on SE of this temple. This has Parivaraprathishta. This was an independent temple complex now within the Shiva Gaapathi Temple complex. Karimpuzha Ramaswamy temple is ancient and was under a nair chieftain of Vallabha kings .Later Eralpad (Elamkur Nambiathiri Thirumulpad) annexed it. to his property. There are special rites before anointed as Eralpad in this temple. Chennas Eramangalam (Vannery) is still Thanthri. Poovakkot Shiva (Ardhanareeswara) is swayambu which appeared in a forest where a sage did penance During rainy season water enters inner Balivattom. Waterlevel in well and tank is same in all seasons. This was the temple of Cheruvarambath Nair (the Cheruvarambath Muthassikav of Vannery Perumbadapp also).Kottappuram Thiruvalayanad Bhagavathi temple is owned by 16 women and their families (Bhadrakali samkalpa). Thottuvaya Shiva temple at Elampulassery was given to karanavar of Elampulassery nair veed by Elamkulam mana (E M S was member of this mana) . Swayambhu linga is irregular in shape and it is still growing. Mokshath Sivan was first that of Naduvil Madam and later of Kuthiravattom swarupam. Kadambazhipuram Vettekaran is ancient swayambhu.
