Great video, sad you decided not to post more videos going into such detail. I would love more videos from you and to learn more tips, tricks, and about your kennel!
This is the best kennel video by far. The details are perfect and sensible. I've grown up around kennels my entire life with my mom being a dog trainer. All I could do was shake my head saying, "Yes" when you spoke about the problems that you can incur over time with your typical kennel runs. Some may call it OCD or whatever else, but it will does make you and your dog's life a whole lot easier. There is no doubt in my mind that you put your animals first. It shows in your facility. Thank you for sharing this video.
I would love more info/a video on the waste management box system. Love what you've done with the kennel, but that is definitely the most helpful part for my upcoming project. Seems many others are interested as well... Would you help us?
This is an excellent video and has a couple of things I hadn't thought of, thank you! Would you shoot a video on how you organize your supplies, food, meds, etc? I'd love to see what other tips I could re-apply to my dog kennel.
Is there any update on your sewage system and how it has worked over the years or anything that you would have done differently over all with your kennel? I’m looking at building a facility similar to this with 6 indoor outdoor kennels on each side. Plan on making it very similar to this and was curious on the cost.
I was wondering when you may be putting anymore kennel management and design videos in the future. Really enjoy your videos. Especially for someone such as myself that wants to start my own dog kennel. I love the videos. They’re very informative. Cheers
Probably the best kennel design I've seen. Very well thought of and efficient. I have a question. To save on costs, could you substitute recycled asphalt for the flooring instead of concrete? Will asphalt be durable for the daily washing of the floors?
Hi Angelo, Thank you for sharing your expertise. Enjoyed the video thank you. When will you continue the series of Building a Dog Kennel? Looking forward to it.
Absolutely excellent video. So informative. You really have thought of so many details. I'm looking at a future build for a dog rescue and will definitely refer back here. Thank you Sir.
Amazing video, wonderful tips! There are room for "pet resorts" in Rio, cause the hotels doesn´t have facilities for them! I don´t have money to build it but I love to understand, to know, things better. Great video.
Your video is very informative for the new comer to the boarding industry as well as the experienced owner. I recently bought a large commercial boarding kennel in Atlanta metro region but the facility is quite old. I'm planning to upgrade the facility and wondering if you can tell me the contractor who built you the chain link & custom door luck. Thank you in advance.
As a non-profit rescue without any owned kennels or money to construct anything as incredible as you have we are looking to convert horse stalls on a farm into kennels in order to house rescue dogs. Do you have any thoughts or considerations on how to best do this given your experience. Thank you.
I worked at an indoor/outdoor kennel years ago and 3 pitties were boarding together and at the end of the kennel we had a golden and her 6 month old baby. When I came in the morning, the pitties had pushed there way out of the chain link and pushed there way into the goldens cage. They attacked mommmy and thankGod, did not kill her. (Baby untouched) 🤷♀️ 🙏 They were stuck in the cage with the goldens when I got there!!! Are there stronger chain links that this would not be a possibility?
Hello, How much was it to build a kennel like this? I want to build something permanent like this. I was going to buy a metal building but I already have one and the outside like you say get rusted from male urine.
I am going to be interviewing for a job at a dog boarding kennel soon. I have not ever worked for a doggie boarding/daycare facility but it's a job I have been interested in. How could I best be a success at this? Thanks!
I don’t know what your skill level is working with dogs, but if this is going to be your first time working at a boarding facility then hopefully you find a nice kennel were everyone has passion in what they do, the kennel is easy to keep sanitized and the dogs are well taken care of. All kennels are different so if the first one that you work at draws red flags then move on and find a better one.
Hey man I just stumbled upon this category and I'm a huge dog lover. I would love to create a dog foster shelter type center in upstate NY do you have an advice or place to look for inspiration
thx for the video, i got alot new information about kennels. and i have question, there is a dog run that has indoor and outdoour kennel that linked each other, and also there is an indoor kennel that doesnt have the outdoor run. what is the different between them? and what kind of dog that should in each of that kind of kennel?
Very good question, I have four exclusive indoor dog runs two of them have sheet metal covering them half way up to prevent eye contact, then I have my indoor/outdoor runs… Most dogs prefer the indoor/outdoor runs and if there are multiple dogs to be boarded in one run then I prefer to have them in the indoor/outdoor runs. There is a small percent of dogs that are dog sensitive that prefer the indoor runs and fewer that like the indoor covered runs… Now most kennels today in America are exclusive indoor facilities with restriction to outside use. (This is where your question becomes so important) in the future I have plans on making a video on this subject going into detail on what has become an experiment at my facility.
Hello ! we are planning to build a kennel in Thailand. We would love to consult with you on how to build a proper kennel, please leave your contact in this comment!
have you talked about your gate latches before? are those custom made? how do you open from the inside if shut and also keep dogs from opening? Thanks so much. Appreciate the videos. Hope you are doing well.
Yes I custom made the latches, When inside the kennel you can open with one finger through the lower part of the latch, no dog can open the latches. The latches work great inside the building, but in my area we get a lot of freezing rain in the winter so I walk around with a small torch to unfreeze the outside latches. I have been working on several ideas on making a none freeze latch for outside use.
In America in the past chain link was the most common wire mesh to use around dogs, but now there are a lot of options. For the dog runs in my kennel I’m using galvanized 1 inch 11 gauge chain link. What would be equal in other wire meshes would be galvanized 1 x 1inch 11 gauge welded wire grid panels, not sure what the price difference would be. I do know that the welded wire mesh can come apart at the welds depending on the quality of the welding process, so make sure your buying quality. The no climb woven type wire meshes are primarily used for perimeter fencing for livestock.
Kennel Tips & Tricks Thank you for the tip starting to design my new runs and I will be doing as much as I can from what you have put in your videos.... Thanks for the excellent content Keep it up! Waiting for the next videos
The attention to detail that comes with decades of experience, presented so concisely. What an outstanding video
Angelo, I salute you! No body puts that amount of thought into constructing a kennel. That doesn't love dogs. I wish you continued success...

How quickly does it dry, does it smell, and will it cause staining in a white dog’s coat? Just wondering for my own uses.
