Not really. Characters rarely died. Blood seldom flowed. Bones rarely broke. Often hilarious to a kid. You can’t say the same about modern anime and cartoons. Nor the movies they make from old comic book characters.
A lot of these cartoons weren't really aimed toward children. Obviously children watched them too, but they were meant mostly for adults, hence a lot of the more 'mature' jokes in older animation.

When you were born in 2000's and nobody has told you about felix the cat but you've heard of it from a comic and then years later go to a museum showing the first made felix the cat on air and you then years later in quaratine decide to watch it and you find it funny in a way you did not ever expect to find a cartoon funny and now you love it.

Im a 2000s kid, I was born in 2006. I had never heard of felix the cat before, all I knew is he was an old cartoon like oswald, AND I LOVE OSWALD! So I looked up for as many episodes as I could find- and here this was! Perfect for me! Now I know :)

Loved this thank you for sharing the only complaint is the “8thmandvd” logo at the bottom is absolutely obnoxious should be smaller or more transparent as it stands out way too much compared to the technicolor and lack of color in some of these shorts.
