I definitely need to get better about doubting myself and trusting the process. It’s so easy to expect perfection the second an idea comes out but it rarely works that way.

Man, that really hits home with the don't get annoyed with your songs. I didn't even realize I was listening to it over and over and overanalyzing everything. I'm really going to try to write fast and just have fun with it. Easier said than done.
The point youre finishing up at -3:50 is such a helpful piece of advice for me. All the songs that write themselves have taken place in a workflow like this, but i didnt know it

Great video! So in need of perfecting a lot of this, since I'm both a freelance digital marketer and a musician. My biggest issue is probably the on/off one. Same devices, same environment and unclear work/play division definitely makes me semi-on all the time. And of course it's very tiring and in the end screws up productivity.

I used to not think about balancing work and play time and I burnt myself out for a few months after spending 6 months doing nothing but writing, mixing, etc.

Anyone has an advice about time management/getting rid of distractions and online classes? Cause it feels like classes are taking too much time of the day and my phone rn is something very important for school and stuff so I can’t really keep it far away from me

I've been struggling for months trying to finish a song, and i don't know why because before i had no problem to finish songs... i'll try some of those tips
On the healthy bit of scheduling your free time: would be interested in your perspective if you are a person that does songwriting for fun and relaxation but still wants to get into the flow and get better every time. Any advice?

12:17 I was mixing one section and making it sound perfect until I realized it’s harder to connect a finished section to a new section of a song.
Now that I have a little one, it seems impossible to have some quality free time without the gray zone. I hope things will get into a better routine in the future, I miss music.
