    Aga had to work for this win against Genie, showing off her magnificent tennis brain and court craft. Agnieszka has won the Fan Fave award 5yrs running. She is my favourite and most creative and entertaining player to watch-ever; and I have been watching tennis for over 45yrs. My opinion, which everyone is entitled to, but I can't understand why some people bad-mouth players that they are not keen on. Is it not better just to be quiet and praise the players that you like?

      I feel exactly the same way, and I have been watching tennis for 39 years, except I might like Fabrice Santoro just a touch more….but maybe not….Aga's game is just magnificent! If you watch this video, you see just how good Eugenie was at her best. She wins most of the point on the video, but that's because the vid doesn't show all the mistakes Eugenie made…they are not as exciting as the points that she won…Aga draws mistakes form her opponents. Everything about her game is second rate, except that ability to win points!

    As much as I love Genie, she had no chance in this game. Radwanska is too good right now.

    Radwanska can deal with fast ball but is hard to deal with opponents who hits the ball really hard like the Williams sisters sharapova muguruza and now konta she can only win points with those player's errors but it's really nice to see someone can stay at top ten consistently without big serve and heavy ground strokes and that is pure skill and talent

      @jughead hung man, I can't agree with you more.

    • @joemarshall4226
      @joemarshall4226 5 лет назад +3

      Aga was 3-1 lifetime vs Konta, and 3-4 vs Muguruza, so she could clearly beat them. She beat Venus 4 times, while losing eight, but Venus is just as fast as Aga, plays very good defense, is very good around the net, and has the huge serve. That's where she gets the advantage, not from her groundstrokes so much. When I watch Serena and Aga play, I noticed that once they got in a neutral rally, Aga won most of the points, but Serena's serve and return of serve were so unbelievable, she just took the racket out of Aga's hands time after time. She just KILLED Aga's serve, even very good first serves…BANG, right in the corner. Aga only beat Serena once in 11 tries. Sharapova was 13-2 against Aga. Her ability to come in and cut off the court made the difference there, plus the amazing placement of those big groundstrokes….and the screaming, which throws off Aga's anticipation, her secret weapon…..Serena and Venus were screamers in their day as well…..

    the rule of thumb is it is not about power. it's about being mentally tough. most top ten players are mentally tough. No hard hitting shots can destroy them but their own mind. Tennis is a mental game. novotna has every volley and depth on her shots but she didn't have what it takes to win. she chokes. evert does not hit the ball hard but her mental tactics and her strategy made her the champion same c with graf and seles. they are mentally tough.

    • @ak-iy4yb
      @ak-iy4yb 6 лет назад

      +neil modino What you said is right in every way but you're partially wrong because it takes more than that to win matches. It IS about partially power. Serena wins the game not because she's more crafty than these two but because of her power. She's much slower so court coverage is bad but she wins the game because she can pull off acute angle shots on the stretch like men due to her power. And female players hardly even win against Serena because that specific reason. Yet she can't win a game against a guy who's out of top 100 in the world because the guys is faster and stronger. So it takes way more than mental toughness.

    • @joemarshall4226
      @joemarshall4226 5 лет назад

      Serena's serve and return of serve set her apart….both have remarkable power and placement. He ability to hit winners on the run is also amazing, as you point out. But she is not slow. She is very quick when she wants to play defense. @@ak-iy4yb

    • @joemarshall4226
      @joemarshall4226 5 лет назад

      I'm guessing that most of the exciting points went Genie's way….but that shows how hard she had to work to win them. It's not so exciting to watch her make mistakes because Aga has worn her down, or tempted her to go for too much. So they don't include the mistake points.
