O.M.G! Watched this last night and made it for breakfast this morning. So easy, so quick. I just substituted ground flaxseed/water for egg, and used ww-flour instead of white flour. While the pancakes were in the pan (with way less oil..), I made apple sauce: peel and dice one apple, put in food processor. Add pumpkin spice (or whatever your favorite is) and a little water. Put in glass bowl and microwave for 2 minutes. Additional a diced banana on the side, I can't say "best breakfast ever", but I loudly say: ONE OF THE BEST BREAKFASTS I'VE HAD SO FAR. Thank you for your video. I should have made more, used only one potato.
I made these for dinner this eve.. and they turned out excellently ! I used the red skin potatoes + small peeled sweet shallots, as that is what I had in the house . I popped the peeled / diced veggies into my Ninja Blender.. which worked like a charm. I served them with our local made organic sour cream. I ate all six ..as they were the best potatoe pancakes I have ever made. No more Martha Stewart's... grate then squeeze in a towel , potatoe pancakes..as these were so much easier and superior in every way . Thanks !
Can I just say thanks for knowing the difference between a pancake and a fritter. I swear so many videos on youtube claim to be potato pancakes but they're fritters! Fritters tend to be shredded potato that is fried, pancakes are puree that is formed into shapes and fried. It's very different. I love potato pancakes, so much can be added for any dish. My favorite is potato and apple pancakes to go with pork.
Thanks for your comments, glad you appreciate the difference. I do make potato latkes ( a Jewish pancake ) but I use the same technique. For me frying and pan frying a different things, fritters are fried, where the oil is deep enough that the fritters don't touch the bottom - like you whould fry a donut, or French fries. Pan frying really is different. I do enjoy these a lot, and make them far too often :-) Thanks for watching
My mom always made these out of leftover mashed potatoes when I was growing up and they were delicious ! When she made mashed potatoes we always knew we were going to have these the next day ! YUM !!!
Clear and concise; not too fast; not too slow. Topped off perfect angles that give you the point of view we would see, if doing the cooking ourselves. So much can be learned visually. Thanks!!!!
My grandma used to make these for me when I was growing up. I used to dip mine in ketchup. They were so yummy. I am going to have to make these. Thanks for the recipe!
I've made my latkes like this for years and years, using a fine grater before food processors happened. My family love them. Especially with sour cream!
Hi Barbara, thanks for thoughts, great to hear ! I find the hand grater does an amazing job. It's only 9 in the morning here, but now I want a few of these haha ! Thanks for watching !
Nothing quite like mom's cooking :-) Memories are great aren't they. Thanks for watching, well I'll assumed you watched this one LOL :-) Thanks for stopping by
I love your method... as previously..using the larger grated potato method.. I did not have good results. The inside was a bit raw..while the outside was over cooked. I think that your recipe and method, will turn out perfectly..more like pancakes..as I would prefer . Thanks for all the fantastic recipes from your various places online. I plan to try them all !
I just followed this recipe this morning and it was DEVINE!! My family and I loved them!! Definitely gonna make them again in the future. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!! 👌👌✨✨
Hello aya ! oh I'm glad you enjoyed it ! Not a lot of views on this recipe video, but it is so amazing ! I LOVE these too ! Thank you for watching my video 👍😊 I'm glad you enjoyed it ! If you are on Facebook, please stop by my page some day: facebook.com/bakelikeapro ✅
Boxty uses buttermilk I think, grated potatoes and mashed potatoes in the recipe ? I seem to recall that. I'll have to try that some time in the future. Thanks for the info, and thank you for watching SweetiePieLMK :-)
This is a wonderful recipe. I will never make potato cakes the way I used to. Thank you for sharing. I have used several of your recipes and have never been disappointed.
Hi JWW, I'm really happy to hear that ! your comment makes it all worth it. I am always happy when somebody tries something out and is happy with the results. Thank you for watching :-)
Hi Ann ! I hope you try it out, you are going to LOVE these ! I cannot get enough of them ! Thank you for watching my video 👍😊 I'm glad you enjoyed it ! If you are on Facebook, please stop by my page some day: facebook.com/bakelikeapro
Wow these look amazing I can not wait to make these tomorrow ! Looks very easy and quick to make from start to finish and you can easily doubled up for more because my family can eat alot so can I lol. What temp hear did you cook them on sorry if I missed it ? Also Iam an onion lover can I chop some very fine chunks of onion and add it to the drained potatoe mixture? Iam guessing heat goes on medium and each batch you need to keep adding a little bit of oil the more you cook .I love mine with sour cream and parsley or green onion also. Can you use the leftover potatoe water for your flowers .Thanks so much for sharring and God Bless you 💜🙏
Hi Ricki, oh yeah, onion is a must. I did add onion, not sure if you saw this, but you can also add onion right in at the end, add it to your batter to give you extra onion flavour and texture. Every frying pan and stove will have a different setting, just think pancakes and the way you normally do them. Start off making just one, and test your stove element heat setting so they don't burn before they are ready kind of thing and you'll do fine. Trust me - make these once, and you will be making them all-the-time. They are amazing ! Not sure about putting potato water on your flowers, never tried that, and never even heard of that trick, but if it works, that's great ! ( I also have gardening channel called GrowLikeAPro on RUclips ) Thanks for watching ! 👍 if you are on Facebook, you can also find me here: facebook.com/bakelikeapro ✅
Hi ! I'm glad you mentioned that.... that will work perfectly ! ... I totally forgot a regular blender would do a great job also... yes, that will be super. Thanks for asking that, a great question. Thanks for watching :-)

I've been in my fair share of Irish pubs :-) and I'm actually Irish for a day.... on St.Paddy's day :-) Thanks for that info, sounds lovely. I want to make those now.
OMG...1:00 am in the morning and I am craving a Potato Pancake so bad...Lol I have been making shredded potato pancakes for years...but just now found out I guess those are considered Fritters, Thanks ShotTower1 for the Heads Up...lol learn something new every day! Thankyou so much for Sharing I can't wait to see if I can do a Gluten Free version in a few hours. They look so Darn Delicious!!! I better get some Zzzzz's. Have a good night!
Marc these are fantastic and so easy! I'm going to make them for the family tonight as a side dish. I want to make a smaller batch though, do I just halve the recipe or will the quantities vary? Love them.
Hi JamieLynn82, nice to hear somebody else loves these :-) I think many are just don't realize how yummy these are ! One bite and you are hooked. They taste a little bit like hash browns, for those who don't know how these taste, they are worth a try. Thanks for watching :-)
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I really like your channel. This recipe is so easy, and it seems pretty healthy too! Hi Demoras ! I'm glad you are enjoying my video recipes :-) I'm going to guess you can make about a dozen of these, I didn't actually count them, and these are on the small side, if you make larger ones then fewer will be made. They are very yummy, you will enjoy these I'm sure. Thanks for your kind comment Demoras, I appreciate it :-)
Hi Candystrap ! Thank you for watching my video 👍😊 I'm glad you enjoyed it ! Sour cream is a must for me... some like applesauce, but sour cream -- ohhh..... can't get enough of them. Thank you for passing by today ! If you are on Facebook, please stop by my page some day: facebook.com/bakelikeapro
I've read through your comments and didn't see this question asked - so I thought I would throw it out there. Did you cook your potatoes before you put them in the food processor - or were they raw? This looks delicious and I cannot wait to try them.. Thank you for posting this!!!
+Allie McAllister Hi Allie, a great question.... I did NOT cook those potatoes before... they are raw potatoes. Don't worry, you will get them fully cooked if you do it the way I did it. I hope this helps and thanks for watching Allie :-)
Hi farheentq, thanks for your kind of words, I appreciate that :-) Every recipe I post is something I love and believe in, and it tastes good to. I'll never post a video of something I don't like, that way I can trust I'm sharing something others will also hopefully love. I should do donuts, I will very soon I promise. So easy to do too. Thanks for watching :-)
Hi Lee, I didn't measure those cute potato pancakes, but I'd say they were about 3" in diameter - maximum. If you make them larger, you'll perhaps get 8 out of that batch. They do freeze well though, so I wouldn't worry too much. 2 potatoes is a great place to start, and you will enjoy these - I really promise. They are amazing :-) Does that help ? I hope so a little bit. Thanks for watching Lee :-)
Tip: use less salt :-) If you wish a pancake to be more "crispy" you can use more oil in the pan, this will basically fry them more than cook them, I don't like crispy pancakes, but I will do another video with a Jewish potato pancake where I do like them crispy, the potatoes are not prepared like in this video, and the texture is much different.
Hi lizzy909ea, you can eat them with whatever you want. I like eating them upside down while I snowboard LOL. Seriously though, anything you like as a condiment, then that's the way to go. Thanks for watching :-)
Darn it....because of you I am going off my diet again! Those look soooo good. For a while I thought that I even smelled them!!! My only problem is, that it seems to me that by the time you make the last pancake, that the first ones are already cold! Is that a problem here?
+fede diego There i no problem if you like cold pancakes LOL. This is a video, so I try to keep it organized. In real life at your house, you will make many more each time, - if you look at my pan, I could have easily poured 2 more in there. As always, when making large amounts of pancakes, you can keep them warm in the oven too.... a very low oven, just to keep them warm. If I am making 40 large regular pancakes at a breakfast, I just keep them in the oven until I serve them. With these, just pour more into your pan, and if you are in a hurry, increase the heat a little bit, but not too much, - you must cook these through.... too high of a heat will brown them too quickly and the insides will not cook correctly. Do not worry :-)
Yeah boxty uses buttermilk and bicarbonate of soda, but it uses only grated potatoes, no cooked mashed potatoes: farls use mash =) I'm amazed you actually know what boxty is! XD
Hi Angie, yes to cut that in half, you can just cut the ingredients in half, don't worry about using the same 1 egg in a smaller recipe it will be fine. It may look like that made a lot, but those potato pancakes were small - if you make them twice the size, you'll see that using 2 potatoes is not many at all. Thanks for watching :-)
Rashmaay Rana Hi Rashmaay, you can if you wish to. Any way you wish to change my recipe, please feel free to. It will be great with butter. I hope this helps and thanks for watching :-)
Hi ZashXs, ah yes ! - Before I start my video recipe, I measure out all ingredients using little measuring spoons so that all ingredients are exact. I use measuring spoons to measure - very important.
Hi Kc, unfortunately, I won't be making a southern style gumbo, no clue where to even start LOL, but I will be doing more baking videos :-)) Thanks for watching, and you will enjoy my potato pancakes... I promise ! Thanks for watching!
Great video, thank you. I grew up in Germany, eating these. They are also delicious with smoked salmon in addition to the sour cream. Got to make these pronto:)
Hi there ! 🙂 Yes ! just double all ingredients and you'll have a perfect double batch. I hope this helps and thanks so so much for watching my recipe ! 🙂 If you are on Facebook, please come say hello ! facebook.com/bakelikeapro
My super easy potato pancake recipe ! Try these once, and you'll want to make these all the time. This recipe is so easy, but so delicious you won't believe it. A couple of potatoes, some onion, a bit of flour and an egg - simple ingredients that make amazing potato pancakes. Serve these up with sour cream or applesauce, one bite and you'll be a believer :-) Please subscribe, like and share if you can, I do appreciate it. Mario Gomez Hi Mario, thank you :-) and thank you for watching :-)
Hi! Is it ok if i just boil and mash the potatoes if i don't have the food processor & grater? Thanks!
Hi Rosalia, it's not the same thing. I would just use a $2 grater... that's the easy way to go.
Marc these are fantastic and so easy! I'm going to make them for the family tonight as a side dish. I want to make a smaller batch though, do I just halve the recipe or will the quantities vary? Love them.

Janice Rivera Hi Janice, I hope you try them out, so easy, and very delicious :-) Thank you for watching !
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I really like your channel. This recipe is so easy, and it seems pretty healthy too! Us Dutch people (or like me, an Asian who was born here) love potatoes, so I'm sure this would be a big hit with pretty much everyone over here, haha!
How many potato pancakes can you make with the amounts in this recipe, on average?
I LOVE POTATOES AND I LOVE THIS RECIPE IT TASTE SO GOOODDDDDDDDDDD!!!
I made some of theses and it tasted delicious thanks for the amazing recipie :)
Uwachii Tan Hi Uwachii, oh good to hear :-) I LOVE potato pancakes. Not many people I know have ever had them, but it's easy to fall in love with them. Thank you for watching :-)
can we use potato flour , i bought lot of them for my gfcf son and needing good recipes
Hi devi, never tried it. You say you bought of "them" - when you say "them" what do you mean ? I am a bit confused. Also, all purpose flour is just "plain" flour. Potato flour is like corn starch, it's a thickener, regular flour acts as a thickener in this recipe too, so I'm going to guess you'll be OK. It may become a bit gloopy, not sure exactly how to describe it, so if you do try it, please let me know.
what kind of potato should i use. sure potato or sweet one. how about russet potato.
Hi there, any type of regular potato can be used. Russet is a great choice.
thanks i already backed the pancake 2 hours ago. its so delicious. thank you for being my teacher.
it is my first time cooking pancake.
THANK YOU!!!! Love it 😍
Thank you for watching :-)
Just had some. The best!
What type of potato are you using? Thanks for the recipe!
Hi there, without going into my notes, I don't remember, but any type of potato will do, I've used different kinds and have had equal success with my recipe. I hope this helps a little bit, and I thank you for watching :-)
yes i made them and she loved them thank you
oh good to hear ! :-)
Hi, thank you :-)
They look amazing!
Looks delicious. Personally, I don't mind a few lumps in them as long as they're not big. Sausage gravy is also quite nice over potato pancakes. 👍 😊
This is what I love!!! Gonna try that :)
Lydia E Hi Lydia, I hope you do, I promise you will absolutely love these ! Thank you for watching, I appreciate it :-)
thank you for the help :-)
Looks good!! I don't have a food processer but I have a blender, would that work ?
I mean this is such a nice recepie!! Couldn't have thought of it✋

Ever tried sweet potato pie? I'd love to see you do a video on it! Great video as always!
Yup, it's good stuff. I may just do that some day :-) Thanks for watching !
I Will try this loh..
Add baking powder to the mixture 👍😉👍
Yuppers ! if you want them even fluffier add some baking powder. I always encourage everyone to change up a recipe and make it their own. 🙂👍
Mmmmm, those look amazing! Especially with the sour cream added!
Hi Candystrap ! Thank you for watching my video 👍😊 I'm glad you enjoyed it ! Sour cream is a must for me... some like applesauce, but sour cream -- ohhh..... can't get enough of them. Thank you for passing by today !

You ve saved my life rn✋
+Marlen Fafouti Hi Marlen, wow, that's quite a statement .... please give me details ! I'm a stickler for details :-) I wish to know why ! :-)
How do you keep the batter from turning brown???
How many minutes on each side?
:D thanks! are the potatoes cooked before doing the mix?
The potatoes are raw.
yes, but still only use that 1 tablespoon, you don't want to overpower the potato in this recipe.
Hi Isobel, thank you :-) and thanks for watching ! glad you enjoyed watching :-)

Unfortunately I do not understand your question. You can use Google translate to send me more info and I will try to help you.
This is almost like boxty; a traditional Irish potato pancake =)
Tip: use less salt :-) If you wish a pancake to be more "crispy" you can use more oil in the pan, this will basically fry them more than cook them, I don't like crispy pancakes, but I will do another video with a Jewish potato pancake where I do like them crispy, the potatoes are not prepared like in this video, and the texture is much different.

Nice graters
XD

Thanks for watching Margarita :-) These are amazing little potato pancakes... so yummy :-)
I believe you :) Thank you very much, I'll be waiting :D
Hi Saira, thanks for watching :-)
Hi Angie, yes to cut that in half, you can just cut the ingredients in half, don't worry about using the same 1 egg in a smaller recipe it will be fine. It may look like that made a lot, but those potato pancakes were small - if you make them twice the size, you'll see that using 2 potatoes is not many at all. Thanks for watching :-)
Can you add butter to the mixture
Rashmaay Rana Hi Rashmaay, you can if you wish to. Any way you wish to change my recipe, please feel free to. It will be great with butter. I hope this helps and thanks for watching :-)
Thanks for replying
you're welcome :-)
Can I book the potatoes ?
Hi Heidi, you do not bake the potatoes... these are raw.
Hi ZashXs, ah yes ! - Before I start my video recipe, I measure out all ingredients using little measuring spoons so that all ingredients are exact. I use measuring spoons to measure - very important.

My super easy potato pancake recipe !
Try these once, and you'll want to make these all the time. This recipe is so easy, but so delicious you won't believe it. A couple of potatoes, some onion, a bit of flour and an egg - simple ingredients that make amazing potato pancakes.
Serve these up with sour cream or applesauce, one bite and you'll be a believer :-)
Please subscribe, like and share if you can, I do appreciate it.
