I worked in the Meadows Building in the early '80's. I think I remember they tried to demolish the building in that period, but the building was so well built that it wasn't cost effective to tear it down. What a beautiful piece of architecture and how fortunate it was saved.

A great mid-century building that was recently torn down in the name of progress drumroll please is the building that housed the Texas Culture Museum in San Antonio. If the Culture Museum caint save Culture and history in Historic San Antonio what does that say about modern Texas.
