Already have an X - and bought one of these a few months ago. I love it, funnest car I have ever owned. When a convertible it feels like the ultimate pleasure maker.
The switchable rear view mirror/camera is something the Cybertruck is missing. Of course we want to see it compared with the Cybertruck and Rivian (not sure which model).
I love the EV diversity on your channel. You cover technology, via modern day transportation very well. Unfortunately, I disagree with this EV intended practicalities. At highway speeds, it’s quite intimidating with the steer vibration and/or rear suspension maneuvering from lane changing. The technology is definitely 2nd to Tesla. Hummer has a brand name, and I imagine it has its loyal customers. But I doubt seriously-as an EV, it will sustain its brand loyalty the way Tesla has consistently been over 65% via brand loyalty and with its consumers who keep coming back to purchase Tesla EV for family and friends. Excellent review with this brand. Glad to see you’re not biased toward one particular brand.
@Jethr001 Tbots are fine with buying a truck that Jerry rigs everything called the Cybertruck useless as a Truck. A Truck that also cost 107k an lack many features the Hummer has available.
The performance adds a larger rear motor for even a faster 0-60, it also comes with larger wheels/tires package which can cost more to maintain. You also lose some range compared to the long range version. I personally would lean towards LR and not Performance but if cost and range aren’t a big deal, the boost in 0-60 is definitely a fun upgrade.
I absolutely love this vehicle and will happily trade in my Rivian R1S, but GMC needs to do the following: 1. NACS 2. 400mi of range 3. Better software 4. Ditch the USB-A and stick with USB-C so it's future proof I hear the 2026 version will have the first two, but they really need better software. If they could get 1+2 and license Rivian software, I would be 100% all in right now.
Only Tesla Stans care about NACS. Software is just fine. In fact, Android Automotive has far more apps available than Tesla. Who cares what USB port it has? A to C cords ship with every phone.
@@TroySavary Long as the built in nav can route me to tesla stations natively and I have my adapter, I don't care if the car has a CCS or NACS port... I can use both just fine. We All want to See the Family Adventure roadtrip With Hummer EV …i Think there should be a longer Version of the Hummer EV With Front bench Seat for at least 8 People…DRIVING it like the Silverado EV
It looks huge from the outside but not nearly as roomy inside. Being 6’6” it is not a good fit unfortunately. No leg room in the front and then nobody can sit behind the driver. The GMC EV pick-up has WAY more space.
What's the point of having that bigass super heavy battery if its not giving you massive range? 320-ish range in a $100,000+ car in 2025 is ridiculous. This reminds me of that new Dodge Charger EV; high price, low features. At least the Silverado gives 460 miles of range for about 10K cheaper with much nicer features.
Speak for yourself. Range is always important. Especially if you are going off-road. I'd buy it with the goal of feeling nostalgic by giving it a proper CARC paint scheme, cutting a hole in the roof and attaching a pintel mount for a M2. 😉
I still have NO idea as to why anyone would get or prefer the Cyber Truck over this gorgeous vehicle?! Not only is Elon Musk and Tesla whack, but the Cyber Truck is ugly AF! If I had the money it would be no contest.
Well, it's a Hummer, so not Mini Cooper, I’m not a fan of the center console between the driver’s seat and the passenger’s seat-I wish it could be removed. Additionally, for me to comfortably drive this vehicle, I would need a co-pilot or another driver with me. In terms of pricing, it's similar to the Cybertruck: not affordable for most people. Overall, while it’s a high-tech car that I enjoy watching, it’s not something I’d use for everyday driving.
I just rented one of these on Turo for a couple of days. Fun vehicle. Sadly, the electronics are nowhere near as good as Tesla‘s. Very laggy. Also, Super Cruise is absolutely horrible. With all those cameras, I wonder if if they’re thinking of licensing Tesla FSD?
If they can't make it more efficient then it's a pass. But at least it has a spare tire, a full size tire at that. I'm so tired of cars especially EV's not having spare tires. And the digital mirror is good. Tesla are you listening?! And why is anyone putting USB-A in new vehicles anymore?
Yes, it's a fun (and expensive) SUV to drive, but not practical for any real purpose other than that. 1- it's way too expensive as a fun toy, 2 - it is just inefficient as the gas Hummer for the amount of energy it takes to move it, 3- it is not as refined as it should be like a Cadilac, 4- the software is so buggy and unpredictable (it can literally strand you in the middle of nowhere). At least you were lucky everything seemed to work as it should during your video recording.

The US manufacturers should be inspired by what Lucid is doing, whose Air is in the spirit of the American car, but whose fuel efficiency is unmatched by anything that the American automotive industry generally does. And when the latter will be hit hard by the Chinese wave, it will be too late to realize its mistake.
Curious why you compared to a Tesla Model X instead of Tesla Cybertruck? This GM is lacking in electronics, range, charging speed, and affordability. And of course, no Full Self Driving. GM is WAY behind in autonomous driving, may end up licensing FSD from Tesla. IMO, The only answer for an EV car or truck is Tesla!
