- "Offering" - Composed in a contrapuntal style much like a Bach chorale, in this piece I’m attempting to give voice through the guitar of the desire we have for a communion with a deeper reality. Offering is part of the collection ‘Four Prayers.’

A while ago I was talking to a guitarist friend of mine about Andrew. He told me: "I've always considered Andrew a great painter. Every note he plays is like a shade of color on a canvas. He's a very good guitarist but he's an even better painter." This song is proof of that. My friend is right.
Thank you very much for your beautiful message, Luca!
I come back here for solace from the chaos, for rejuvenation, and connecting with my tears. For healing, for gratitude. This is penetratingly beautiful. Thank you. I believe this would capture Bach's attention, and he'd grasp the beauty of it and find grace there.
David, such a beautiful, personal and heartfelt statement. Thank you!
You indicate, by playing guitar, that music needs divine nature.
Thank you very much, 飛田野正人-san!
The music is exquisite and the video environment very classy. Big like form me!😀
Thank you very much, bossanovaboy!
Oh man, those last 4 measures are magnificent! Those fully voiced harmonies rubbing against and supporting the simple melody were ennobling in their effect. I found myself sitting up straighter in the chair as if I were proud of something without knowing exactly what it was. Just great.
Thank you very much for your beautiful comment, Thomas!
One of the great musicians and composers of our time. Imagine if Chopin or Bach had a RUclips channel where they posted their own works and could hear from the world. Thank you for sharing with us, Mr. York.
Thank you very much for your kind comment and for watching my video, Cap'n!

Hi Andrew . First of all, kudos to Annette for the background visuals. I love them all. The fire place motif is perfect. As for you, well, another elegant piece . As I've said numerous times, your tone is exquisite !

Beautiful! Bravo maestro!
Thank you very much, Roberto!
Dear Gianni, thanks for your wonderful comment. So glad the music takes you on such a personal journey.
Ho scritto in italiano perché certi concetti e sfumature non li so esprimere. In inglese.e me ne scuso ..in ogni modo ..sono un chitarrista da 45 anni..suono da quando ne avevo 5..e la sua musica mi fa ritrovare un mondo musicale molto vicino a quello che intendo e sento io grazie ancora
The more I listen to this, the more Bach does indeed come through. Such a nice "offering" -- Thanks.
Glad you like it!
Well, that was certainly a little toe-tapper, Andrew (albeit slowly). 😉
I'm just kidding... It was stunning (as your pieces inevitably are). The background scene was so fitting to the music. Do I see a little influence from your time in Japan?
Thank you very much, Cool Blue Ice!
Andrew, thank you so much for sharing this! It’s a really sweet piece.
Thank you very much, BJ!
Beautifully played with great acoustics.
Thank you very much, Elmo!
Hermoso, sublime. Bravo, maestro 👏
Thank you very much, Rolando!
So beautiful, Andrew. I swear, every time you pick up your axe, here comes another masterpiece. I cannot thank you enough for all that you bring to us. Peace and Rhythm, brother.
Thank you very much for your beautiful message, Buck. Very much appreciated!
Soul grabbing resonance.
Thank you very much, Jon!
Excellent emotion in this piece, Andrew! It was like hanging onto every note. An apt background for this reverent piece too. Bravo 👏
Thank you very much, Josh!
Wonderful music & overall video again, Andrew & Annette 🎶
Thank you very much, Eduardo!
Beautiful, Andrew! And such delicious tone! I love the setting, although I'd have been dripping sweat by the end of it ;) Did you have to sit there a while before tuning your guitar?
Kevin, no, it was actually quite comfortable and not too warm.
you inspire me andrew, thanks for sharing your music greetings from the south of Argentina.
Thanks for listening and greetings from California to Argentina!
😊👂🎶🎵🎶
Wonderful Andy!
All the Best!

Glad you enjoy it, nyannyan!
Beautiful new piece. Thank you for sharing it with us!
I’ll be getting the music once it’s published and adding it to my repertoire.
Thank you very much, Matt. The piece is published and is part of the collection "Four Prayers".
@@AndrewYorkguitar Thank you! I will get it - the piece deserves to be played and widely known.
Good evening ⭐️ The melodies played by Andrew - san are all lovely ♪ among them, the melancholic atmosphere of the melodies is particularly beautiful ♪ :)
Thank you very much for your beautiful comment, 小沢まゆみ-san!
Incredible beautifuul vibe!!! Maestro may I ask you if the position you are using to hold the guitar in this video is confortable?
Thank you very much, Matteo. The sitting position is comfortable for a little while.
🙏 Really a prayer, a meditation and in a meditative posture🙏
Thank you very much, Adalberto!
Beautiful clarity.
Thank you very much, Paul!
With all due respect, I will try to describe in words what "Offering" means to me:
It's a mystical, deep, heavenly, and spiritual piece of music that evokes meditation and helps align the inner self. Also, the sound of your guitar is mind-blowing. May I ask what mics are you using?
Thanks for your wonderful comment, I'm glad it has such an effect on you. My mics for this are MXL V69 silicon valve.
@@AndrewYorkguitar I just looked up that mic online... It appears they retail for about $277 each. That's not bad and is proof a musician doesn't need $1000+ microphones. I'm guessing Andrew uses two of them (but that's just a guess.) 🙂
other than the beautiful tunes and the stunning sound going out of your instrument, I greatly admire the care you take for locations, lights and colors of your videos. Just a question: do you compose your music on piano or directly on guitar?
Thanks for your sweet comment, Gian. Annie and I give a lot of thought to our locations and I'm glad you noticed! I compose my music in my head and on the guitar, no piano involved.
thank you sir! good luck
So soothing Andrew! Really appreciates that you are taking your time! The silence and the good tone you creates is so important! The melody is remainding me about a Swedish hymn. Did you get inspired in some way? The title for the hymn is: Den blomstertid nu kommer. (When the blossom comes...)
Anyhow: This was a treat for the soul! So beautiful! So nice to se you play!
Thanks for sharing!
Regards!
//Tobias
Thank you very much for your beautiful comment, Tobias. I get my inspiration mostly from nature and beauty.
Questa musica è pura poesia.
Thank you very much, Aurelio!
😊
Long time ago you said that you were writing a fugue in after JS Bach. I guess this is it, don't I?
No, the fugue is finished but still unpublished.
All the nasty politicians should listen to this wonderful music, and stop being greedy.
I agree, Anthony. Thank you!
