I’ve never wanted kids either. People said I’d change my mind when I got older. Didn’t happen. In my 30s it became if I met the right guy I’d change my mind. I always said the right guy for me wouldn’t want kids either. So here I am at 42 now, no kids, no regrets!

Not wanting to be a parent doesn't mean you hate kids and even if someone does...so? They're loud, needy, require a LOT of energy and are kinda terrifying because they haven't yet learned empathy. I'm absolutely not even remotely ready to have kids. I'm 26 and don't even think about it. I am that person that hardly ever even thinks about marrying (as a child I never did at all) and the thought of planning anything similar to a wedding stresses me out. Good thing I'm still single. It's perfectly fine to not want kids, we're already with too many humans as is, but I think I get why so many people say you'll change your mind. I might have to do with only fertile for a relatively short amount of time and when the end of nears, a lot of women who never wanted children all of a sudden do want a child. Not all of them though and it's not anyone else's place to decide but yours.

I have 3 nephews and a niece and I love them, of course, but I have no patience for them, even tho they are not that young anymore (the youngest is 10 and the oldest is 15) I just want them to grow up xD I'm almost 24 and I never dated. I've taken two college courses that go into _explicit_ details concerning pregnancy. After the first one, I realized there's no way I would ever be comfortable being pregnant and the second one confirmed that. I've always wanted kids (probs cause I grew up with a lot of siblings), but I am 100% gonna adopt someday! Pregnancy is whack yall.
Also, think about this: Isn't it funny how people are old enough to have kids at 18 and no one cares, but saying you don't at 27 is monstrous! I've thought about my decision far more than someone with kids thinks about theirs.

I absolutely relate to not wanting kids! I've never wanted children, ever. Yet I always get the "Oh you you'll change your mind." "You don't know what could happen down the road." "What's the point of having children if you don't get to have grandchildren?" (My dad said that last one, mostly joking but still) It's so wrong to assume someone will change your mind and tell someone they don't know themselves. Sure you can never know what happen, but if someone tells you this kind of thing, do not disregard their feelings and opinions. Not everyone wants kids. Not everyone wants to be a parent. That should be respected just as much as the want to have kids.
I really relate to that physical contact thing - when I feel anxious something that makes me feel better is physical contact with others and getting hugs/holding someone's hands and it's also how I express my emotions, especially when I'm happy

YES! I totally understand the super feeler experience. I never knew that was a term but I really relate to how you explained it. I also find that doing my makeup helps with my anxiety. I do it most mornings because I find it helps set a relaxing tone for the day. I will just listen to my audiobook and do my makeup.

I do it most mornings because I find it helps set a relaxing tone for the day. I will just listen to my audiobook and do my makeup.
OMG I understand you so well. I've never wanted children, and I've always said that in case that changes, I'm totally going to adopt, and everyone is always like oh yeah, you'll change your mind, adoption isn't the same, blablabla. It seems like a woman cannot think this way, as if pregnancy was the most important thing or something
I love that you said you'd adopt if you ever want kids! I was adopted and I feel like people never consider that as an option. Obviously you don't need kids at all but that part just made me smile!

GIRL the -s t r u g g l e- of being a woman who is vocal about not wanting kids is HARD. I am totally on board with you, I am not a kids person, I just know that the way my brain works and my personality is not conducive to being around kids 24/7. Also, I don't want that emotional or financial responsibility. And that's cool! Never once have I told someone they shouldn't want kids, or that wanting kids is bad, so WHYYYYY do people feel the need to tell me I will want them one day! It doesn't effect you!!! It's my business!!!!

I am so happy to be not the only girl/woman who doesn't want children or get pregnant. I am the only one in my friend group and my family always tells me that it will change and it's just so annoying 😐
It is amazing to me how many people feel comfortable telling a stranger how they feel/will feel about wanting kids. Family is one thing for me, but a stranger telling me I'll eventually want kids and I'm just going through a "phase" kinda makes me wanna punch them in the baby maker 🙃👊🏼

I relate completely to your answer about hugs! I'm a physically affectionate person! I'm constantly asking friends and family if I can give them a hug... and a hug for me is not a hug unless it lasts like a minute, which for normal people is far too long.
