Hauahauaha! I like to knit, stick, sew and paint, but unfortunatly I have nobody, who can work with wood! Your wife should bake the best cake on earth for You! You deserve it!
I love your design . I would really like to have a bowl like this. I have seen beautiful wooden ones ,but this is the first for me❤❤ Now I have A plastic tube, I put my yarn in.
Dan,Sir, Are is way too spontaneous to ever come out exactly the way we originally planned. Am really enjoying your work! Please hug happy wife of 18 years! 👍😁
Turned out beautifully. Hope the wife likes it and gets years of use out of it. The clear "windows" will be nice for her as she can keep an eye on how much yarn she has left inside the bowl a bit easier. I love that you actually put yarn in the resin, that was a nice touch.
Beautiful yarn bowl. I made one for my wife out of Red Pine and did the recess bottom for the first time on a bowl. It broke but I was able to glue it all back together. I had to repair the blank two more times for other failures before I finished it. Just don't use a recess on weak wood. It won't go well. My wife is delighted with the finished bowl and is using it all the time. That's the one gratifying thing about the project.
I've yet to watch anyone make a yarn bowl, as a crocheter and knitter I'd absolutely love to have this! This is a beauty! Please consider making more! Blessings.
As I watched this project I thought about the first of your videos I saw, the one where you mixed a hole in your resin container. That made me laugh. Your skills have come a long long way in a short time. Beautiful project
Cool knitting bowl! As a knitter, as well as a woodturner, I, for one, would be very happy to receive such a piece of art! I bet your wife was thrilled!
I have been watching you for almost two years... you sure have learned a lot and upped your game on the tools you use...If you ever wonder just how far you have come...go back and watch the David bowl...It is a magnificent piece....but you worked about ten times harder with the tools you used back then. I know nothing of wood turning...but I do love watching those that have mastered the craft... What a beautiful piece this will be for your sweetheart. 🥰 Honestly it is one of those pieces that can be passed down generation after generation. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
After watching a video of yours many months ago, I've become a regular donator to OUR. I only make small donations as I have a minimum wage job, but it all counts and it feels good to make even a small difference. P.S. Nice bowl.
Я делала украшения из эпоксидной смолы и пряжи, но первый раз увидела такую очень красивую работу из дерево, пряжи и эпоксидной смолы 👍 Браво, мастеру.
Beautiful work. Watching you work with the finer tools makes me wonder if you would enjoy carving bone. Just image a big cow leg bone. Hello from New Zealand
Wow! That is gorgeous! Watching you work with wood takes me back to when I'd watch my daddy, working on a project, back in our basement. He let me help, sometimes. I still treasure the cobbler's bench coffee table we made when I was little. I wish i still had the amazing doll bed he and mama made for me. And the baseball bat. I was so proud of that thing. I took it to school and the boys gave me a buncha bull that it wasn't any good bc it didn't have a 'label', so they'd know which side to turn away from the pitcher. I was so mad, I took it back home and told daddy about it, and he said he"d take my woodburner and make up a logo for me. He made the bat when I was in elementary school. I was away at college, when daddy took it to the Izaak Walton League picnic, and one of the men swung a mean homer, and when they heard the crack of the bat ... that's what it was. My bat cracked and broke in two. Not a bad 'lifetime' for a homemade bat that the boys in my elementary school said was no good. Watching you work makes me wish I'd discovered these videos while daddy, and his Shopsmith, were still around. He'd have loved them. Keep up the good (wood)work, Dan! Bless you for what you're doing with Art for OUR.
That is the most gorgeous yarn-bowl I have ever seen! Have seen ones made by wood or ceramic, even an ugly (actually homemade and with a metal-plate in the bottom) plastic one... As a grandmother, I wish for one like yours! ❤
