You are by far the most accurate beauty RUclipsr! I bought the palette and couldn’t decide if I liked it or not as all my friends tell me Mario shadows are amazing. I loved the colour story for days when I don’t want to think about what to slap on my eyes. The mattes were so underwhelming! I can handle a lil kickback but playing with a palette where there’s ton of kickback in 7 pans?! 😬 Also, it lasted for 6 hours on my eyes yesterday then started to fade away. Felt like the mattes were patchy as well. I’m so sad I will be returning this cuz it’s a gorgeous palette. Natasha Denona Glam palette + UD Space Cowboy and you pretty much have the essence of this one. I love love love when you do the comparisons. That’s pretty much why I watch reviews and performance of course. So many beauty RUclipsrs were giving this palette amazing reviews and here I thought I was going crazy. Thank you for this review and comparison! In 2022 to make a unique neutrals palette is an accomplishment. Patrick Ta and MBM are on trend, wearable and right up my alley. The palette shows up on medium/tan skin FWIW and I think it was intentional not to include a black, since as you state, it's meant to be "ethereal." Same for the ratio of toppers.

Thank you for the review. I keep going back and forth about buying it or not. I think it's easy sometimes to get caught up in the hype and everyone saying it's so amazing. But realistically it's just a thing and not something that will change your life. I think you did a great job of talking about the pros and cons of the palette in a way that made me realize "it's just a thing, not something magical". It will be very expensive for me to buy since I live in Sweden and someone wrote in a comment on his instagram that the palette won't be coming to Europe. Unfortunately the shipping to Europe from his website is extremely expensive. What I like most about this palette is the tones of it and the sparkly toppers. But I will be trying to dupe this with my existing eyeshadows first before I decide whether to buy it or not. Thanks again for the review! 💜
Yes I completely forgot to make that point in the video. This palette is mad expensive if you live outside the US so it really needs to feel luxe for it to be worth it

You bring up a number of good points but as someone who only has 1 PMG palette and a cream shimmer, this just looks like such a beautiful, fun, and wearable palette for year round. I'm wearing it today and all your points, both good and bad are valid. I'm glad I picked it up with the Rouge discount, because I don't know that it's worth it at full price. That said though, I really enjoy the looks I get with it and I find it a good, staple, "no brainer" pallette to grab for work.

As it has just been released for a final sale, then it will be gone, I have bought it from Mario's own website at the cost of £89 including expedited postage because it will never be released in the UK. I'm looking forward to trying it as it arrived today. It looked like a fairly ordinary neutral palette. At that price, it needs to perform well!

Very long time ago, Sonia Kashuk at Target have these eyeshadow quad that are very similar to the glossy shimmers in the Mario palette. I loved them but they have long been discontinued. They were the best best glittery topper imo. A Sonia Kashuk quad was 10.99. I am very tempted to get the Mario palette just for the glossy shimmers...
Oof. This palette was such a let-down for me. His Master Mattes palette is such a workhorse staple in my collection, and I was really looking forward to this one. Sadly, I won't be keeping it. I'm actually glad it's limited edition...it gives me hope that he will reformulate and come out with something better. It's so interesting to see such polarizing views on this palette...it's the true definition of YMMV. Anyway, thanks for your thorough review and keeping it real, as always!

This Mario palette is very pretty but I didn’t care for how dusty the mattes were either so I returned it.. was concerned about eye irritation as well❤ thanks as always!
I have purchased this palette and have been using it for 2 days now. Not sure if I feel good about this one. I can’t get that polished more expensive look from this palette. Matt’s are ok but glitters are not going on as smooth or lux and make my eyes look tired and old. Will give it a few more days but possibly will return it. I hav all the other mentioned palettes, feel like they perform way better. Thank you for another amazing review
I bought a couple of eyeshadow palettes during the sephora sale and this one is on the top of my returns list. I don't see myself during the glossy shimmers and the mattes are just like any other palette that I have. If this was half the price sure but it's too darn expensive to keep. Interesting that you compared with the hourglass glitters, I prefer those!
i think Mario intentionally kept the color story lighter/ethereal based on his concept share. i also think artists tend to lean on eyeliner more to deepen or smoke out a look, but agree a darker shade would have added more options overall. not sure why it was ltd except that it sounded like a celebration/anniversary palette for him. of course if it does well he could always make it permanent. i suspect it being ltd ed and released during the sephora sale is why it sold out even faster. hoping the formula doesn’t irritate my eyes but tbd! i still don’t have a WG palette but have had my eye on pearl. i do think the tones of these neutral are exactly my preference. i also thought his shimmers were less impactful than WG which is why i guessed wrong, lucky for me 😂

I went in-store to swatch it, and the mattes were so powdery, it felt like talc, like you explained. And the glitter/topper shades had so much fall out, that I had a hard time removing it from my hands even with eye makeup remover. Yeh, no with the glitter fall out, and not for $68. I love the mattes but I don’t love the toppers bc They are sheer. I’m gonna keep it bec it looks great on me. I don’t think it’s like soft cashmere on my eyes that’s cooler and taupier. So I like both. LIt does look similar to pillowtalk. But pillowtalk can’t be built up. I do think This is a great travel palette and I’m glad I got it.
Yes you are very right, the Pillow Talk palette doesn't have a lot of depth and this is for sure different enough from Soft Cashmere that you can have both!
Definitely would not pay full price for this! I’m glad I picked it up during the sale. It’s basically a 12 pan quad or quint, haha!, in that the looks will always be sort of the same but also hard to mess up. I’ve played with mine once so far, and while I liked my look, I’m just now putting together that my eyes WERE irritated after, uh-oh! Gonna play with it again and see, Sephora does have a wonderful return policy. You are always so nuanced and considered with your looks and comparisons.
Swatched the glitter shades in store, and were really disappointed that the have none of the said emollience, at all. And the matte shades are sadly too powdery. Please, Wayne Goss, bring back your OG Pearl and new OG Smokey palettes!
I saw it at Sephora today and although it’s a beautiful neutral palette, I feel like I can definitely copy the color story with what I already have in my collection with my : Too Faced: Neutral Nudes & Colourpop: Bare Necessities & the shimmers with my: Fenty Diamond Bombs ( I have 4 ) & Glamshop: Totalt Blask Nudes ( all shimmer palette) & Glamshop : Single Shimmer Shades So I feel content to not caving into the hype of this eyeshadow palette, because I have similar colors to it ! Or doesn’t take away how beautiful & stunning this palette is , even if it’s a neutral basic B.. palette, nevertheless!!!! ☺️✨

I've been on the fence, but more and more, I think I'll pass on this palette. Not having a black isn't too bad (I use the single ND Blackest Black or VB Satin Kajal as my black, plus I have so many in palettes), but all those shimmers are so close. It's overkill to me. If one was a duo-chrome and the others were really different tones, that would be great. I might not mind the 'ethereal' and light textured mattes -- I've been into almost naked eye looks lately. I don't know -- I'll see if he keeps it or comes out with something better...
Can I make a review/comparison request? I'm looking for a comparison between Haus Labs highlighter in Fire Opal and RMS blush in Mai Tai. Also Haus Rose Quartz and RMS French Rose. For being so viral and similar shifty gel powders, I'm surprised there are no comparisons.

Yeah, I think I’ll pass. I’ve been wanting to get one of the Tom Ford quads for awhile now, so I think I’ll go with Nude Dip or Enchanted next. Probably Nude Dip. It is gorgeous and I can basically dress in whatever color of clothes and my makeup will still match my outfit. Enchanted is much more pinky, which I also love, but I’ll get that one next, after Nude Dip. (Nude Dip in December for Christmas and Enchanted in March for my birthday 🙃) Thanks for the video! It’s a pretty palette though, but I already have enough eyeshadows… if I get this one I seriously won’t be able to justify buying Tom Ford quad 😉

@@samantarizzi248 I read Enchanted & got excited. I thought they bought it back since it's been gone for nearly a decade. TF Virgin Orchid is close, but the top 2 shades are less frosty, metallic, while the bottom 2 are the same.
If I had known about the Lisa Eldridge releases I would never have picked this up. Just saying. Made the mistake of going into my Sephora during the sale instead of waiting for a delivery.
wonderful review! i agree this should not be a LE piece, unless to your point it is expensive to make. it is a basic b**ch palette and no one should be rushed into buying it only during a sale or during a limited availability. to me if it's not this palette, there are many other, the ones you showed in comps and i bet there are many more out there similar to this in color story may be not the same formula. but who cares, once its on the eyes, i wonder who can tell the difference unless someone is standing 2 ft from me and knows about this palette.

I am still making my way through her 45 minute video to be honest so I haven't decided just yet! I am sure I will pick up at least one but probably not all of them
I'm still torn. On one hand, these are the formulas I love in terms of shimmers and colours of mattes. On the other hand, my hourglass scattered light shadows and Urban Decay moondust eyeshadows paired with any numbers of mattes scattered throughout my collection would recreate the effect. Having it all in one place is really the only reason left for me to grab it.

Yes I think you will love Smokey Quartz from Wayne because the subtle purple undertones will be very pretty for your green eyes
It's the Mario grey shade that's hard to fine with the wet shimmers as well but the grey

I love the mattes but I don’t love the toppers bc They are sheer. I’m gonna keep it bec it looks great on me. I don’t think it’s like soft cashmere on my eyes that’s cooler and taupier. So I like both. LIt does look similar to pillowtalk. But pillowtalk can’t be built up. I do think This is a great travel palette and I’m glad I got it.
Yes you are very right, the Pillow Talk palette doesn't have a lot of depth and this is for sure different enough from Soft Cashmere that you can have both!

Definitely would not pay full price for this! I’m glad I picked it up during the sale. It’s basically a 12 pan quad or quint, haha!, in that the looks will always be sort of the same but also hard to mess up.
I’ve played with mine once so far, and while I liked my look, I’m just now putting together that my eyes WERE irritated after, uh-oh! Gonna play with it again and see, Sephora does have a wonderful return policy.
You are always so nuanced and considered with your looks and comparisons.
Yes that's a good way of putting it. The colors are not differentiated enough so the experience is similar to a quad

Swatched the glitter shades in store, and were really disappointed that the have none of the said emollience, at all. And the matte shades are sadly too powdery. Please, Wayne Goss, bring back your OG Pearl and new OG Smokey palettes!
I saw it at Sephora today and although it’s a beautiful neutral palette, I feel like I can definitely copy the color story with what I already have in my collection with my :
Too Faced: Neutral Nudes & Colourpop: Bare Necessities
& the shimmers with my: Fenty Diamond Bombs ( I have 4 ) & Glamshop: Totalt Blask Nudes ( all shimmer palette) & Glamshop : Single Shimmer Shades
So I feel content to not caving into the hype of this eyeshadow palette, because I have similar colors to it ! Or doesn’t take away how beautiful & stunning this palette is , even if it’s a neutral basic B.. palette, nevertheless!!!! ☺️✨

Every luxury palette I buy has a black shadow I don’t think I need any more black shadows in a pallet
I totally get what you mean. For me, I am not going to dip into another palettes so I like the convenience of having a darker color in there
@@SofiaSeesBeauty but there are deeper colors in the palette, just not black. His palette is sold out at Sephora and EBay has it for $150 sooo… do we NOT think Mario has any business sense or does any market analysis before he prices and releases something???
@@susanbowman3865 James Charles, Kylie Jenner and even Shane Dawson of all people sold out too. It doesn't make them good colour curators, it means they are trendy and popular.

I've been on the fence, but more and more, I think I'll pass on this palette. Not having a black isn't too bad (I use the single ND Blackest Black or VB Satin Kajal as my black, plus I have so many in palettes), but all those shimmers are so close. It's overkill to me. If one was a duo-chrome and the others were really different tones, that would be great. I might not mind the 'ethereal' and light textured mattes -- I've been into almost naked eye looks lately.
I don't know -- I'll see if he keeps it or comes out with something better...

Can I make a review/comparison request? I'm looking for a comparison between Haus Labs highlighter in Fire Opal and RMS blush in Mai Tai. Also Haus Rose Quartz and RMS French Rose. For being so viral and similar shifty gel powders, I'm surprised there are no comparisons.
I don't have any of those but I will check them out in Sephora next time I am there! Are they viral?? I haven't heard anyone I follow talk about them really but I am not on TikTok so a lot of times I am unaware

Yeah, I think I’ll pass. I’ve been wanting to get one of the Tom Ford quads for awhile now, so I think I’ll go with Nude Dip or Enchanted next. Probably Nude Dip. It is gorgeous and I can basically dress in whatever color of clothes and my makeup will still match my outfit. Enchanted is much more pinky, which I also love, but I’ll get that one next, after Nude Dip. (Nude Dip in December for Christmas and Enchanted in March for my birthday 🙃)

@@samantarizzi248 I read Enchanted & got excited. I thought they bought it back since it's been gone for nearly a decade. TF Virgin Orchid is close, but the top 2 shades are less frosty, metallic, while the bottom 2 are the same.

If I had known about the Lisa Eldridge releases I would never have picked this up. Just saying. Made the mistake of going into my Sephora during the sale instead of waiting for a delivery.

wonderful review! i agree this should not be a LE piece, unless to your point it is expensive to make. it is a basic b**ch palette and no one should be rushed into buying it only during a sale or during a limited availability. to me if it's not this palette, there are many other, the ones you showed in comps and i bet there are many more out there similar to this in color story may be not the same formula. but who cares, once its on the eyes, i wonder who can tell the difference unless someone is standing 2 ft from me and knows about this palette.

I am still making my way through her 45 minute video to be honest so I haven't decided just yet! I am sure I will pick up at least one but probably not all of them
I'm still torn. On one hand, these are the formulas I love in terms of shimmers and colours of mattes. On the other hand, my hourglass scattered light shadows and Urban Decay moondust eyeshadows paired with any numbers of mattes scattered throughout my collection would recreate the effect. Having it all in one place is really the only reason left for me to grab it.
Yeah that is a good point. Sometimes I just like the convenience of having all of these things in one palette!
