    First time using a grinding tool to sharpen. Sharpening a bunch of paring knives that needed it. The small blade length and the area where the blade meets the handle (sans choil) made the start position not on the edge guide. Seemed awkward at first.
    Also I note as the blade tip left the angle guides, it was initially unstable as I had such poor technique to begin with. Quickly improved but there were these little things when found that made a difference. (Wonder what else I need to do better)
    Overall a very quick process--appreciate learning and overtime getting better.

    You made a change to the cassette guide that I intended to but have not done yet for my KO. I was going to cut the guides at an angle to allow thumb studs to clear. Does this guide fit the older cassette? If so, I need to buy one. Thanks

      @WorkSharpOutdoor  Месяц назад

      No, the only parts that are compatible to the older version are the belts.

    Does the new blade grinding attachment fit the mk1? Since all the belts seems the same?

    What makes this better than the mk1 other than digital throttle control?

    • @WorkSharpOutdoor
      @WorkSharpOutdoor  Месяц назад

      This model offers more precision with .5° adjustments, the guides have been redesigned to allow and for thumb studs and are now leather lined making them gentle on knives. The digital speed allows for consistent and repeatable sharpening experience, while the sharpeners’ new torque control delivers consistent power, even under load.

    Can you use the workshop can onion addition to sharpen a straight razor in what grit

    • @WorkSharpOutdoor
      @WorkSharpOutdoor  19 дней назад +1

      We don't recommend sharpening a straight razor on this system. Its great for a lot of knives and the convex edge the flexible belts offer is advantageous in most cases but it works against you when it comes to a straight razor.

    Will the stiff kit work with the BGA?

      @jmeschman Месяц назад +1

      What's the difference between the standard and stiff kit? I looked up the Stiff Kit, but the description didn't explain anything about the belts.

    • @garrettthomas9480
      @garrettthomas9480 Месяц назад +2

      The stiff kit doesn’t let the belt flex as much and u get a more flat grind

    • @WorkSharpOutdoor
      @WorkSharpOutdoor  Месяц назад +3

      You probably don't need to upgrade, as the original KO is a fantastic machine! However, there are some improvements in the newer model that could enhance your sharpening experience. The redesigned leather-lined guides are gentler on knives and fit a wider variety of knife types, offering precise adjustments down to 0.5° with the new scope click angle settings. Additionally, the speed control is more consistent, providing better control and repeatability in sharpening.
