I’m killing right now with an Articuno/Greninja deck. Definitely do the Venusaur solo drop missions and rack up promo packs so you can try and pull a Greninja or two! The water shiruken ability is super clutch
Sometimes it isn't worth playing so many Pokemon in a deck because it makes it a little harder to get the ones that you want, but it also makes drawing too many of them into dead cards. Instead it makes sense to play more Items/Supporters. The main Item I think you were missing there is X-Speed, which are essentially "free" energy when you need to retreat to save points. You could cut a few Pokemon to make room for them. Sometimes having 1 Red Card in the deck is worth more than an extra Pokemon as well for when your opponent has 5+ cards in hand.
Yeah, it’s shocking this was released. The combat is completely broken in the current state. You can build a deck with one starter Pokemon, be guaranteed it will be in your hand, and the coin flip usually determines who wins since Player 1 gets no energy (but can use Supporters and Attack if they have a card to get energy)
Its cause its so limited in cards right now. The more and more cards are made, the more and more deck variations will start showing up. There's only like 3-4 good deck builds right now.
@FuncleChuck I've played like 200 battles and have yet to see what you're talking about. But I get the sentiment. Hopefully after this new update in January, things will get better.

You can purchase cards with your pack points! When you go to open a pack it’ll be on the right hand side bottom! You can get your cards you need for your decks!

The basic pikachu isn't rare at all. It's the Pikachu EX that's harder to get and the special alternate versions of it.
