I just realised something, the Nether AREN'T the bad guys, at first they were aiding an ally, then nothing. Then some fricking kingdom knight shows up, massacres an entire fortress and murders their king and princess, Naeus may be power hungry, but the kingdom itself isn't bad, hell same applies to the Piglins, they did NOTHING wrong, yet their people were massacred by Ciara in Nightmares after she STOLE from THEM, and almost killed their king, and proceeded to murder him years later, sure its implied that the Nether Kingdom was a war mongering place by Kane, but they did NOTHING when Herobrine died till Rain, as I said before, massacred a fortress and killed their royalty, this is their revenge, karma for the murder of their leaders, we see them as the bad guys as they raid the villages, and have no human looking characters, yet humans have before raided villages in the Dark Ages, but do we see them as bad guys? Not really no. Its the fact they AREN'T HUMAN, that makes us think of them as evil.

I actually like Hogsworth, i feel like he is an underrated character as i think he is one of the best generals in the series with some of the most experience. He fought in the nether civil war, in almost all of the nether invasions and he has won the majority of the battles. You could see how well his campaign was doing and how quickly he took the outpost. Though he did make a big blunder resulting in the destruction of his army and his capture.
I'm such a devils advocate for the guy, I'm rewatching the series for the first time in forever and I'll be fr sad if he dies, there's a reason he surrendered twice in this series

I think blackbone is the strongest general cause of his size and sword but he didn't get a fight scene
Nah I’m with you, Hogworth’s progression to leading the Nether’s armies has been really compelling, especially considering how he’s one of the lower characters on the power scale. He doesn’t have any over the top powers, just a sword and shield.
@@StillUseless1939and they were both to faction leaders who've proven in combat. The Nether King is the Nether King, he's goated. And General Patrick has only lost a 1 on 1 duel to Herobrine and that's it. Even then he did really well against him and bought enough time for the Calvary to arrive and win the battle
I like how this series has actually turned into a full blown war, the frostbourne are outnumbered, but they use the terrain and weather to defeat the nether, they mix together magic and advanced tech perfectly together, it reminds me of the battles in lord of the rings, except here they don’t chit chat during battle

This is by far the best battle scenes ever animated in the entire storyline! Every character has been involved in the fighting as if it were those epic medieval battle scenes we see on movies. Truly epic! Keep up the good work Rainimator and the team :D

I see this Video as a Story of a Conquer who wants to take over for the Good of His Empire, and a Commander who is determined to prevent the Invasion. Both fighting towards a goal, the same goal, same ideas, but on different sides of the Spectrum.
I love how each empire seems to have a part of war in which they thrive. The undead had mastered the ability to take down entire fortresses from the inside, the nether clearly has a mastery over conventional warfare, the frostbourne seems to have more skill in Guerrilla ops scenarios, and the end is best for a single powerful strike.

Honestly I may be one of the only ppl noticing or commenting but this not only feeding my nostalgia for rain, but for aphmau as well. With a lot of the same voice actors and just getting to watch an amazing animation is just feeding my inner child and I’m loving it. I’ve been around for rain ever since the struggle and even some of his older videos not on this channel

Ive written pretty much a novel. I mean, this helped, but it was one of hundreds of inspirations. I would recommend involving a lot of things to create something that is completely new. Try to vary what you’re taking in and you’ll put out something you can be proud of. Just a little tip 😀

I love how the story has damn well matured since the start - Being more "war tactics" than just random ambushes and reinforcement calls.
Now there's actual wars, actual tactics and plans, terrain and weather usage, i really love it.
It's something that really good lore and stories have, i really love it, though I liked the series before as well.

Hogsworth: he is strong enough to backhand the Ender Dragon with his shield, almost effortlessly. He apparently dominated dozens of towns with his (relatively) small force of maybe 30-50 men, excluding ghasts and blazes. Love him. He's great. Name's adorable. I love Hogsworth.

The way that they use enderpearls for the start of the charge seems pretty accurate. If armies irl had enderpearls I think they would weaponise them in that way. This is amazing

@@jedi_connor3030 So true! He seems to be caught up in between the Overworld and Nethers hate for each other. He seems like someone who actually would want peace, but isn’t in good enough of a position to get that out. He and Rain have been big inspirations for my own characters.

The way the pig leader looked around for someone who’s free to fight really showed some type of humanity as well, instead of ganging up on a couple other frostbourne

You know I kinda like military strategy myself so I just wanna say something.
The plan made by the Frostbourne was pretty good, using the blizzard to hide and then surprise the nether horde making their numbers useless since they can't see anything.
However if you have to do conventional warfare I'd have a plan

Here we have nicely been provided a map with troop movements, the nether are in the middle of a river crossing which is a pretty vulnerable position to be in.
The Frostbourne could've surprise attacked the bridge and (since they were using it to cross) split up the nether forces. Then, they could've left their strongest units to defend the small bridge passing and used the majority of their aermy destroy the nether forces on their side of the river separately (which would be easy since the nether don't have numbers advantage) . When they successfully destroyed them , the nether units on the opposite side would face a choice,
1) Keep trying to cross the small bridge that would remove their advantage in numbers and benefit the defenders
2) Cross a frozen rive to the other side
both choices will get them more casualties
As you can see, simple tactics solve problems

I forgot that blazes can die to Snowballs so them dying in a Blizzard makes sense. This also obscured the enemies vision which easily made a good ambush. Smart

The fighting animations, the animation for the speaking, the iron golems, they way everyone's fighting style was dynamic and not just copy pasted, the fights that were more focused on, lyria's wings. My Lord this was beautiful

really shows how powerful the frostbourne is and how easily the nether thought they could defeat the frostbourne , the frostbourne army is really something else , the nether is a place for greedy place for people who want power but the overworld is a place where all the hero's born!

Rain alone could almost wipe out the nether castle, do you think the nether can advance any longer? The only trick the nether could pull off now is new character(which rainimator will likely does)

We see howthe frostbourne take turns during the blizzard,the pigmens are enduring the weather while fighting which is a great advantage for the frostbourne and im impressed of how they did that

Revisiting this, but I just had to say I just realised how they brought meatsheilds to save the real soilders, this really enforces how brutal the nether is. Sheesh.
Still gotta love the Hogsworth's strategy at the beginning. Even befits what the piglins give too. Such a creative reference, yet effective. The dual prong attack was smart on his front. Attacking from multiple ways does cause difficulty for the enemy.
I've been so inspired to do storywriting from you. All your characters have so much life and personality. I liked Stella a lot and I enjoyed the series to hope incorporate into mine if ur cool. Have given u credit where it's due. The best series I've watched and can't wait for Clear Skies.

Rains fighting scenes have become much better since the begining of the series, there much more detailed and flushed out rather the the fast fights from the start.
Go back to some of the first episodes and you'll see what I mean.
This reminds me of the battle Napoleonic empire vs Russia, the russians just kept evoiding fights until napoleon's army was near to freezing to death
I just realized that all of those soldiers have their own "sprite". And you need to animate them separately...As an animator myself, this is amazing.

Coming back to watch this video now i just realized that the ender pearls that the nether used for their surprise attack during the first assault mustve been from the slaughter of the ender watchers. Explains why they have so many.

The strategy the frostbourn used actually reminds me a lot of the strategy Russia used when napoleon tried to invade them. As napoleon got deeper into the mainland, his soldiers one by one died because of the cold. And when they were weak, the Russians attacked.

hey history nerd here, the russians didnt attack when napolean advanced in russia, after moscow fell the russians waited for the winter, as they didnt respond to napoleans letter, after the few drops of snow the french retreated and the russians saw that then attacked.
Thats a ballsy move imagine just losing a lot of troops in a battle against an advancing super army, instead of retreating and falling back you attack with the few troops you got with the weather advantage knowing you will be dead even with the surprise attack therefore hoping for the reinforcement to come.

This is just my opinion but in Cold as Ice: The Remake I felt like the Blazes just kind of stood their so it's really nice to see how you are doing better in each animation, I really liked the detail.

This is possibly your best plot in your series; don’t get me wrong the others are still very good but this one is something special

it's not a bad plot not at all but it doesn't really move the story forward much, no characters die and all it really shows is that hogsworth gets captured other then that there is not really anything else that this episode does
@@dark_disciple It showed how even a small part of the frostbourne can actually put up a good fight and gives the implication that it isnt the main character and his group that does all the work.

This is truly brilliant strategy on both sides! I truly loved how once the blizzard hit, they got right to work. It was Brilliant how they set them up for failure from the start using the terrain to their advantage and everything! It even vaguely reminds me of some of Hannibal’s tactics! Truly a great job!

I like how Hogsworth used what he learned from Cold as Ice the Remake. He flanked the soldiers in the same way they flanked the nether soldiers after their rain of arrows.
This was an amazing animation for the story! The music and everything was awesome!
I kinda feel bad for Hogsworth though, he’s been through so much with the Nether Civil War, against Naeus and now this, dude can’t catch a break. The Blizzard was a really good strategy though and the sudden Ender Pearls from the Nether side!
Amazing storyline! Can’t wait for the next one.
I completely agree but what I’m questioning is did they have to sacrifice a lot of their troops just to set up that ambush good strategy overall but at the cost of probably more lives than necessary
My favorite shot of this is when Hogsworth tries to retreat just to be met with Lord Patrick there in the snow
Since I was 5 I was listening to this music. Seeing how now it is a whole story makes it so much better.
The frostborne have the best anti air abilities with their Elytra and anti air Missiles (not sure if the missiles are entirely Canon). Unfortunately they lack much of an ability to do anything with that. The Nether horde has ghasts and blazes but don’t really have anything that can take down Elytra.
@@jasonsmith6219 The wither fires slow flying projectiles like the rest of the nether’s Air Force. The wither angels appeared once and haven’t come back so I assume their isn’t enough of them to change the war

Yeah in most scenarios the nether has the better in the air
The Missle launcher things are canon
The wither angels still exist, but guard the floating isles, there are enough of them to do something in battle but if they went the isle would be captured and the nether already has the best Air Force anyways so it would be quite useless
@@kingmac6638 The airship were killed but the elytra weren’t killed on screen. During the fight we see Lady Azura avoid fire balls with the only shot to get close being when she remained relatively still shooting the wither.
@@jack727dave5 lady azura is probably the most skilled aerial fighter in the frostbourne it makes sense why she survived that heck she even killed that goant wither skeleton
@@Acousticmf123 she also happens to be the only one we see get shot at. Avoiding the fireballs is a simple as don’t fly straight at the ghast. If that fails they got extremely lucky
AMAZING 👍 The voices of Lyria and Hilda are just as I would have imagined them. The animation is very well made and fits perfectly with "Gotta Get Outta Here". Really gave me goosebumps when the music started 😄

The voices are good but to me Lyrias voice is really annoying the character is fine though. Also the music is pretty good and can't wait for the new song on Friday

Incredibly creative and an epic song as well! Was truly in awe of the moment Lyria saved the commander from Hogsworth! I really think this should be an SMP or a series/movie. Great effort Rainimator!

I like how these random side characters with no names just appear in any frostbourne scene. You can see them in the background on the left. And now you see them in back into darkness leading a small squad.

Man this animation was great. Hilda and Lyria’s Voice acting was really impressive. Their voices sounded like and reminded me of My Little Pony.
Mostly Lyria’s voice. She sounded like Pinkie Pie.
