      Kudos for the Video! Sorry for butting in, I would love your opinion. Have you heard the talk about - Riddleagan Possessing Piano Remedy (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a good exclusive guide for learning how to play the piano easily minus the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my cooworker after a lifetime of fighting got astronomical results with it.

  • @alansturgess1324
    @alansturgess1324 5 лет назад +14

    I have this keyboard. I have just two gripes about it - when using either piano voice, notes at the far right end of the instrument make no appreciable note - just the sound of a hammer hitting something solid. Because I play just for myself I simply use the Transpose option and tune down a whole octave (-12). Personally I prefer the deeper tones in the middle of the keyboard so that doesn't worry me. Unlike some (admittedly slightly more expensive digital pianos), the keys definitely feel like plastic rather than having any semblance of an ivory-like feel. Beyond those niggles, this is a superb BUT VERY HEAVY instrument. You'll need a very solid and stable stand for it. You also have to be careful with Modulation - that's far better used for a very subtle change rather than anything extreme.

    • @andrescarrizo5204
      @andrescarrizo5204 3 года назад

      I am just learning Piano and I am considering buying this unit. Does it matter much that it only has weighted keys but not graded weighted keys like the Yamaha Digital PIanos? Will this affect developing a good technique if i Later on upgrade to an acoustic Piano? I`ve asked this around but don`t seem to get a straight answer.

    • @alansturgess1324
      @alansturgess1324 3 года назад

      @@andrescarrizo5204
      You need to speak to a professional pianist or dealership which can answer such a technical question. I assume you are aiming for the highest standards of professional subtlety in your playing, so surely you should start on the type of instrument you mean to focus on - an acoustic instrument?
      Space-wise, a digital instrument makes sense, but not if the highest level of performance on an acoustic piano is your real intention.
      I can say that the adjustable touch/weight controls on the Alesis are very effective and cause no problems when moving between digital and acoustic, but as for truly professional standards of playing, then another factor is that an expression pedal or duo is surely not really comparable to the mechanical feel and functioning of an acoustic instrument's pedals?
      For such a technical enquiry and with what I assume are top-end playing skills of a professional standard, then surely your only real option is to talk to a professional pianist or a dealership whose staff have that level of expertise and experience?
      I reviewed ther Alesis on Amazon
      smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-reviews/R38DW0LUB21Z3K/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B072FKLXRB
      Be aware - the weight REALLY is a significant factor. I'd strongly recommend a Z style stand and defiitely not one of the lighter 'X' style. I reviewed mine on Amazon although in the review of the piano I show a link to an alternative brand. Quite a few manufacturers make the 'Z' style
      smile.amazon.co.uk/Stellar-Labs-555-13830-Keyboard-Adjustable/dp/B008I5QTQI/ref=sr_1_19?dchild=1&keywords=Z-Style+Keyboard+Stand&qid=1608974456&s=musical-instruments&sr=1-19

    I just bought this last week and I love everything about it except the sharp sides and underparts of the keys. I try to ignore it but it's starting to annoy me to the point where I'm either going to spend a Sunday gently sanding and buffing the sides of the keys with a Dremel tool, or just return it and get a different first digital piano. Why Alesis chose to use keys like this on an otherwise excellent electric piano is beyond me.

I assume they are similar in build quality so I'm not worried there but I was wondering if the piano (the recital 88 keys) has the ability to change midi channel by itself via a button/key combo (without using external software) and if it works with Ipad/Iphone midi apps with the adapter. Also even tho I own a Q88 myself I also would like to know about the Ipad/Iphone capability for it since I personally use mine with my gaming PC.

    I have an Alesis "Prestige" 88 key graded hammer. One of the keys sounds extremely sharp in the lower register. I get that to be "in tune" with the rest of the piano some keys won't be EXACT....but this is very noticeable. Is there a way to "tune" an individual key? A factory reset doesn't do anything. Is there a way to tune it VIA the hardware inside? What could the problem be? Thanks.

      Hammer action is supposed to be the same as piano. Semi-weighted is just a bit of weight so it isnt completely unweighted
