When my husband and I married, he told me that the Doctor told him he would probably only live 5 years because of his heart, and I told him that we'd have five good years together then....he listened to this song all the time like many others have. He lived 12 years after we married, seven more than the doc. predicted....we lived our lives as full as we could, motorcycle riding, raising great danes, camping, and finally building a "trike" for him. This was an amazing song for my love, my husband and my best friend. He took his ride with God in 2016 since we needed more thunder. I miss him terribly. Thank you for this song.
my husband and i use to listen to this song all the time. and he always lived like he was dieing and I'm glad because he passed at the age of 44 in 2016
@@sonyamaher7825 I'm sorry for your loss as I know the pain is real and never really goes away. Your husband was very young...my husband was 63....I'm glad they lived their lives to the fullest...I think we were both blessed to have such amazing men in our lives. You take care as you put one foot in front of the other....that's what I do...slowly...but I do it. Love to you.
My mom lived her last year of life to the fullest before she passed from an accident. This was one of the songs she played a lot ironically. She reunited with family, became closer to God, had fun and explored the beautiful world and cooked all the traditional foods she loved from back in España. TE QUIERO MAMI RIP.❣️
Yes! Just listened to a Ted talk about “how to follow your heart” and he said if you ever plan your own funeral like he did at age 18 (he ended up surviving) that you change forever. Your heart suddenly knows exactly what matter and exactly how to govern each day you’re given. Suddenly all the things I’ve been stressed about don’t matter and all I can think about are my little kids. ❤️
First song I heard the day I was told that I had cancer. Thank you Lord for giving me the strength to go through my treatment and live like I was dying. 5 years cancer free. Thank you Jesus for giving me a second chance at life. I owe it all to you.❤🙏❤
my son(44) has stage 3 lung cancer this is his song,he goes fishing with his son, doing things, living to the fulest, last week I had to tell him I have cancer, but I am living my best life and giving thanks to our Father in heven
Amen!!my mother in law had stage 1 pancreatic cancer. She otherwise procedure said this will give you 3 years she passed exactly 3 years list her June 13th2024,?she lived her life to the fullest
This song came out the same time my husband was told he had two weeks to live. We were blessed he lived a year two months and 10 days. We had been married 32 years, 4 months and five days. We had been childhood sweethearts. ❤️
Patti, I just saw your comment on RUclips and unlike many others around you I know your grief is as overwhelming as it was a few months ago. people around us always say move on get over it, but they truly don't understand. I do. I understand how it feels, but today, take a moment for yourself to remember the good times you shared together and then take another moment to remind yourself that you will see each other again so try to make great memories that you can share with him when you next meet. Life goes on so live a life he will enjoy hearing you tell him about. and remember too, a stranger out there somewhere really does know and understand how you feel and there is nothing wrong with you feeling the way you do.
@@WillGodaskyouifHecansavemetoo Thank you so much. It's been 16 years now. We were best friends and I still miss him. No one else will ever take his place. ♥️🙏♥️
My husband loves this song, we listened to it at the beach about a month ago. Then about three weeks ago I played it for him while he was on life support. I'm listening to it now alone. I lost the love of my life on July 31st. Nobody loved deeper than him. And nobody loved him deeper than me.
Hitting a like button seems wrong somehow for your comment but I know you understand. I’m so so sorry this is happening to you, there are no words of consolation I can offer you but I just want you to know im so sorry!
Remember: There Is Nothing Hard For Our Heavenly Father. To Heal and make New Again...Only Beiieve and He Will Move Heaven and Earth Just For You, His Daughter.
This song makes me cry , my son battled his ass off too save his life and done everything and made every memory he was able too too make with his young son and wife . Hes currently in remission , God is Good 🙏
B5429671 XJ Lol. Now I can see you don’t know anything. To actually think God gives people diseases is so wrong. If you actually thought about what you said instead of blurting our what “Atheists” say to make yourself sound smart you could be smart. Quit attacking people over there religion. Cause your religion isn’t something to be proud of. God Bless you man. And get a life.
@@K1ngs4NDWR3TCH3S Him attacking Tracey because of her religion was stupid and unnecessary. But calling atheism a religion is like calling "not collecting stamps" a hobby... I don't think you really understand what atheism is
I was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2013, during the toughest times of my battle I would often get on my Harley and go out for a late night ride to clear my head. I would always crank this song out as loud as i could. It was a healing process for me, after beating the disease I moved 1600 miles away from home to heal and start over. After a few months I went to the Houston rodeo and was blessed to stand up at the railing and watch Tim McGraw play THIS song!!! It was a profound moment for me . I stood there with tears streaming down my face totally embraced by this song !!! Tim, if you ever read this Thank You and God Bless
Surrounded by death my entire life either at work, home or friends I never got to do that, still cannot but God I would love to take that night ride under the stars in the night in the rain and just hold on and look up then go home to my loved friends and family.
I really needed this song tonight, I lost my Daddy on 12/17/23. He loved country music and this song makes me think of him ♥I love you so much Daddy and will miss you forever.
March 22nd 2023 - watching Masked Singer. It's country night and someone in a macaw costume is singing this song. I paused the recording before it ended to find it on RUclips and played it all the way thru, smiling. I'm a Jazz, Gospel, and R&B singer who has enjoyed some country too over the years. But these last 2 years I have been discovering country artists who have been amazing for years and I'm just now finding out! This is a beautiful song that has encouraged me to CHOOSE LIFE. I survived a near fatal car accident that paralyzed me from the chest down temporarily and I lost the use of my left arm. Spinal cord surgery gave me back my arm and today I am fully ambulatory with some restrictions. Life truly is a gift and music is our universal language. I love this song and will play it some more to remind me that life is short and we should live each day as fully as we can.❤
To my fellow brothers and sisters with depression. Never give up and enjoy life because it is short. Be grateful for what you have and stay blessed. If nobody has told you that you love you lately I love you all.
❤ I miss my mom. She went to Heaven November 2022. I've been listening to this song since 2004. Thanks for preparing me for her passing. From 2005-2022 I enjoyed spending my time with my mommy and taking her places she had never been. The only place she he didn't go was Paula Deen's Restaurant and shop in Savannah, Georgia. Mom had surgery in 2019 and wasn't able to travel much after then. But I went to Paula Deen's Restaurant and Tybee Beach in Savannah, Georgia. I purchased many souvenirs and ordered three meals and two desserts. Two fried chicken meals and the meatloaf meal. Plus the Ooie Gooie cake. I took mom back plenty of food plus a post card, a wooden butter stick, Ooie Gooie cake mix, a Paula Deen apron, and a cook book by Paula Deen. Yummy God Bless you Mr. Tim for keeping the memories. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🖐🏻🇺🇸🙌
In 2016 just before Christmas, my wife of 28 yrs decided she didn't like dealing with our 4 youngest as teenagers and pre-teens. She walked out and I was sooooo pissed and lost. Now four plus years later, all but or youngest have grown into amazing adults. One served 4 yrs in USMC. One in college and the other works in day care and going to school. My youngest, a 16 yr old girl is a Jr in HS, a 4.0 student. I have custody of her and live every day as though this is my song. For the most part I have forgiven her, but still don't have contact with her. Live life, love The Lord and forgive. This sound is savior survival and loving life. That's what it for me. I love it.
My lifelong bff passed away from cancer exactly 5 yrs ago today. This song has made me cry every single time since. She did exactly what the song says too-went to Disney, skydiving and SO much more. Thank you for this. It has been super special to me! ❤️❤️
My 12 year old son was diagnosed august 2021 with cancer, I made a promise then that I would love our lives like this song, more vacations, dirt bikes for the kids and hoping to get a boat in the next year. Noah is finished with chemo and cancer free. Praise the lord! Still want to live our lives like today might be the last. Thank you God!
Please pray for us, Noah’s scans came back with something to be concerned about. The doctors don’t know what it is but we are praying it’s nothing. Jesus we trust in you!
My wife lived like she was dying...right up to the moment she did. A very brave lady. She / we fought it for 8 years...I was with her right up to the last breath....still love and miss her.
6 and 1/2 years ago, my wife was given 18 months because of a brain tumor. She is still alive and kicking today. She has had stage 4 cancer twice in the last 10 years. She is now cancer free.
Found out a few weeks ago that I have stage 4 cancer... and not a lot of time. Thank you for this song Tim.... everyone should live each day like this.
My heart breaks for the both of you. I know words don't really change anything, & neither of you know me, but I want you both to know I Love You! I so wish I could make your pain & cancer disappear. I am surrounding you both with many prayers and let you know I do care. My sister died from cancer and I felt sooo helpless. I am asking God to bring you peace & give your family strength and comfort in the coming days. I'm sooooo very sorry. All my love & hugz to you both. ~~ Lynne
Last night my best friend of 30 years told me he has terminal cancer and won’t live to see another birthday. I’m at a loss and kept thinking of this song. Don’t wait to do the things you always dreamed of because tomorrow isn’t promised
Oh yes and thanks for being an amazing fan I wanna thank you for your love and support which you showed towards me all this while, I want to let you know that your likes and comments on my page have never gone unnoticed 😘😘😘😘😘 Kindly text me on my mail Timmcgraw248@gmail.com
How shitty of these people to claim theyre Tim McGraw, but I'd like to ask whether your best friend is still with us today. Either way, what was the most memorable moment you've had with him?
Hey James just letting you know that you have a friend in Jesus that can help your friend out and you also through these tough times keep the faith and one day you'll meet again and the pain and heart aces will all be behind us in heaven keep looking forward and Know that the good Master is in control through it all!! Keep looking up for your reward is just a tune away and thanks again!!
I dedicate this song to my daddy who was diagnosed with kidney cancer when he was 44 years old. He fought hard and lived until he was 65 (recently passed away). I played this at my wedding in memory of him. Daddy, for you, every day I promise to live like I was dying 😢. Thank you for making this song.
Your comment hit me hard. My Dad just passed away two weeks ago from kidney cancer at the age of 62. 🧡 He battled hard for an entire year and never once complained. If you asked him, every day was a good day. Much love #FuckCancer
@timmcgraw1 ALWAYS. Im NOT not that type. But then who is on GOOGLE CHAT SAYING YOU? PLEASE DON'T BE A FUCK OF A HUMAN... I'VE SEEN ENOUGH OF THAT. JESUS. ALWAYS STAY HUMBLE AND KIND. YOUR BEAUTIFUL SONG.🕊🇨🇦❤🎶🌎
My baby brother had epilepsy, none of his meds helped, so he stopped taking them and LIVED his life. He was taken suddenly and without warning. He did so much to help other people and showed so much love before the end.
I was 38 when I was diagnosed breast cancer .all I could think was to hug my babies and ask for more time .22 yrs later my daughter and I saw Tim live (last night)hugged each other, cried and sang this song with him .I don't have the words to describe how very precious that moment was .
Angela, I came on here to listen to this song and have a good cry. I was shocked to see your comment because I am 38 and was just diagnosed with breast cancer on Friday. I'm telling my 12-year old tonight and my heart breaks for her. Thank you for sharing this sweet memory with your daughter!
Diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer just over one year ago... Climbed Mt. Hood, Mt. Rainier, and other... Went Sky diving with a friend, have done it over 300 times in the army, but it was different this time. Still need to ride that bull... but time is running out. May G-d bless you Mr. McGraw. I have always loved your music. I will take it with me to the other side, and we will be waiting for you there. I hope it is a very long wait.
Not so fast there, Paratrooper. You don't have permission to go gently into that good night just yet. You keep your feet and knees together, and you suck it up, Paratrooper. Hua!!!! Airborne!!!
Read half of the comments. My condolences to everyone that lost a love one. And my prayers to everyone battling any kind of sickness you guys got this. Much love 🙏🏾💯❤
Thank You for your kind words. I lost a daughter on December 10, 2017. If you know anyone who huffs spray paint or Canned Air AKA Duster or electronic cleaner please tell them it could kill them. My daughter's body was so toxic her organs that didn't fail were unable to be donated. I share her story as a way to bring awareness.
I listened to this song with my grandma almost every day of the summer, not knowing that she was secretly fighting her battle with cancer. She took me hiking, swimming, on road trips, and never once showed that she was hurting. This song hits different now, as an adult, knowing what she was going through while little me scream sung “a bull named foo man choo” every day. I love her so much ❤
That is a beautiful story and your grandmother definitely was an awesome person she really loved you for sure if she set aside all that time and even though she didn't tell you it's because she didn't want to have you sad while you guys were together
@gillianlemke1546 - Please also know that doing all that with your Gma helped her a lot. She was living happy & seeing the world through your eyes while you did all that. Then add in that laughing, smiling & just being happy can be a great pain relief. You kept her active which can help in many ways. I'm glad you had that special time together. Treasure the memories you made together. I'm sure your Gma is in heaven, bragging about her granddaughter to everyone she sees!
I'm puzzled at how people can dislike this song...even if you dislike country..listen to the words that he's saying..these are words spoken from the soul.
If anyone dislikes this song, they have serious issues. I lost my Dad April 21st 2018. My parents have been divorced since 1982. My Dad remarried . My mother never remarried. However, it makes one wonder when my Mom passed on June21st ,2018. Talk about true love 💕.. There was an invisible bond that was never broken. I hope that they are together. Somewhere in the afterlife...😢🙏🏼
AMEN!!! MAN YOU HAVE REAL TRUE DOWN TO EARTH>>>MOON...STARS....OCEANS ....RIVERS.....SKY & SUN .....WATERFALLS...LOVE..... & .....LIFE......YOU SAID IT 100% tim knows how to "embrace"....ALL that is within and around him and those he loves. the fact that you "get-it" says everything about how awesome you are as a person to have around especially when ...."A Friend Is Needed!!!" GOD BLESS YOU ...Mikey
I am living like I am dying now. I am fighting as hard and fast as I can. Thank You Tim I need this inspiration right now. I am just starting my 70th year. I have many friends and family praying and supporting me. I am thanking my Lord and savior and praying for my family who have helped so much. Tim I am going to take your advise.
Hello Thanks for your comment and supports, your comments and constant support has brought me this far. Keep praying and don't ever stop believing in God ❤️ Please send me a mail via my private email. awfx100@gmail.com
I will be praying for her! I believe she totally can do that. We have right now, this moment. We are not guaranteed tomorrow on this earth. But by the grace of God, our Lord and savior we can have such a wonderful future with him in heaven. If we ask him into our hearts and believe and we will be saved.
I'm a punk rock chick all the way, but I have a secret love for country, and this song makes me cry my eyes out every time I hear it. I wish there were more beautiful songs like this. And I can't say I've ever lived like I was dying, but I've been poor all my life, and got a CDL and traveled the USA/Canada solo for 9 years. And I made the most of every place I went, saw a hockey game at all the arenas, visited family I never thought I'd see again, and got into photography. I saw a lot of things most people never get a chance to see, and found great music like this on my XM radio to be my companion in lonely times.
It sounds to me like you’ve very much lived like you are dying. It’s not about the financial resources we have or don’t have, it’s the attitude we have about life- there are a whole lot of people out there with a whole lot of money, in fact, some of them are so poor that all they have is money… but you took advantage of the opportunities you had to explore new destinations, enjoy your job truck driving because you knew it opened up new places for you to see, and you took the time to do that rather rather than just focusing on your job. It’s important that we’re responsible employees but work isn’t our life. We work to be able to live life and share life with those we love. But our careers shouldn’t become our life, that’s a quick way to steal joy from our living. I’m glad you make an effort to embrace and enjoy life while you’re still able to truly live it!
I just lost my best friend of 30 years. She had small cell carcinoma and was given 6 to 9 mos. live. I was blessed to be able to spend the last few months of her life with her in her home. I will always always miss her. Fly high Marilyn I'll see you when I get there. XOXOXO
I love this song. It helped me through my cancer diagnosis and surgery. My goal is to enjoy life as much as possible with my friends and family that I love.
+Mary francis hunt that is true and touching and God does love all his children and your mom is up there with our Lord now and I hope you get through this
Was diagnosed in March with stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma and everyday has been a struggle but I’m trying to make the most of it. I’m glad my wife and kids are here to help push me through. Currently completed 10 out of 12 treatments and my body is reacting well! Live each day as it was your last.
I've survived cancer 3 times , and the first few lines of this song described me to a T. But by the grace of God I'm still around with a wonderful wife that helped me every step of the way
My best friend died of cancer when this song first came out. I remember hearing it on the radio right after I got the call. Every time I hear it now it brings me comfort. I'm reminded of the happy times that I shared with him.
I just buried my husband due to covid19,, and this song reminds me of him because even thru all of the adversities he was always humble and kind. He would help all and always had a smile on his face doing it. I felt blessed to have had the time I was given with him. Thank you Mr. McGraw for helping me to continue teaching his granddaughters this blessed message.
My good friend for 35 years listened to country music while he drove his tractor trailer around this country on the open roads he loved. It's because of him that I even heard this song. Yesterday, a Dodge Charger crossed the median on the highway and took my dear friends life at just 56 years young. I loved him, and I'm glad he lived every day like it was his last. RIP D. A. W. 😢
My husband died 3 times last year but with many prayers and faith in the good lord and doctors he and I are celebrating our 32nd anniversary this year. Amen 🙏💓🙏
Oh my gosh, I just met Tim McGraw at the airport in Nashville! We were at the baggage claim together. I can't believe I've finally met a living legend, and on New Year's Day to boot! I always complain to my family, Why don't we ever run into anyone famous here in Nashville? Lol. Well, you really don't get more famous than The Tim McGraw!Thank you, Sir, for taking a photo with me, and for going up to the rest of my family and shaking their hands, as they were too shy to come over. Especially my son, he is just so happy right now, that you talked to him. What a gracious, lovely person. Thank you. I'll never ever forget this night!
My grandpa and I listened to this song together all the time while he was battling stage 4 cancer in multiple parts of his body. I lost my best friend on the 7th of January 2023. Today is the first time that I have listened to this song without him because every time I would think about it I would just start to cry because of how much I miss him. He was not only my best friend but he was also my fishing buddy I only went twice after I lost him and both times ended in tears. We would always share different stories while we were fishing and I just could not gather up the courage to go without him.
My nephew had no issues and out of the blue got blood clots and then cancer, and passed in around august. only took about 6 months from start to finnish.
My cousin was just diagnosed with glioblastoma in operable brain cancer. She’s always been a fighter. I sent her and her family members this fabulous song.
True - have a humble & kind spirit does not mean be a fool - humble & kind at work will get you demolished & NEVER have anything to do with ANYONE, EVEN FAMILY, that does not return the same humility & kindness. THEY WILL NEVER CHANGE.
I so hope you made it thru your prostate cancer. My husband had it at 54. We were told only 5 % of the men who get it got it so young. I didn't even know men get it in their 30s. Please G-d I hope you made it thru!!!!
This was my grandmas favorite song and every time I hear it I cry. She’s passed from cancer and I have her iPad and this is her account and found this and cried my eyes out I miss you grandma.
I hope you are feeling better listening to this song. My mom died of cancer three years.ago. She died two months after being diagnosed with cancer. She was the greatest Mom you could ask for. I miss her terribly. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her. Tim McGraw 's song Live Like You Are Dying helps me feel better every day.
I have a brain tumor born with congenital avm wich is a brain malformation and playin a game on fb this was the song they given me Well I had to listen and I started cryin. Hang in there baby promise it gets copeable but never easy.❤
My Grandma past last year and same thing i found her old iPad and Tim is her favorite singer ever and this comment really made me ball my eyes out. I miss her everyday
Several years ago I had what was considered the widow maker of heart attacks! I thank my awesome doctor and the wonderful staff of Healthpark in Ft. Myers Florida for the fact that I’m still here to this day! Everyday is a gift and you have to live your best life and enjoy it! However I unfortunately since then had lost my oldest sister to cancer! This song speaks volumes to me!❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕
I was diagnosed with NET cancer, in 2022. For a long time I was in a really dark place. One day I was in alot of pain, I use music as my therapy. I found this song. And cry everytime it's played. It's my life moto now! Thank u, Tim
I lost a friend in March, and the last time I saw him we got drunk and loudly sang this song. It's fitting because he lived every day like it was his last. I often listen to this song in remembrance. Rest easy, Ian
This hits home by time, after I went into remission from cancer, it changed me to the better man I am today, this song is my inspiration, thanx you Tim McGraw
Still can't believe it's been over 20 yrs since I first heard this song. Got a call today, and found out that my dad's youngest brother that's only 6 yrs older than me, is on hospice and not expected to last more than a few days. He fought the cancer over 15 yrs ago, but it came back and this time it's going to win. For a few years he was the closest thing I had to a big brother, after we didn't see each other much, but communicated quite a bit for a few years until a couple yrs ago when he just stopped. I think that's when he found out it came back. Time and distance wouldn't allow for getting together. He chose to fight this on his own. Can't be mad, everyone deals with terminal illness in their own way. I just wish he would have said something. Can't wait till Rev 21:1-5 is fulfilled. Rest easy Rick.
Diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, i have had a rough past 6 months. Avoided this song for that whole time. Listened today and it was a great release. Cried uncontrollably. Great song from a good example of what a human being should be! Humble and kind is still my fave though, in my eventual passing I hope my children take those lyrics to heart.
There's been no health crisis for me but getting older and having the love of my life pass away has changed me. I love this song more than any other. It's melody is stirring, Tim's voice and timing are wonderful, and the chorus lyrics talk straight to my heart. ❤❤❤
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face......
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for an incredible year. I couldn't do this without you all. Thank you for supporting my brand of Country Music and Sharing it with your friends and family. Wishing you all a Prosperous Happy New year.🎉🎉🍾🍾🥂🥂
In one week, one of my very good friends died from cancer, and my grandma took her own life. This song helped carry me through it! I’m so sorry to everyone who has lost a loved one here. I’m glad we all have this song to connect us ❤️
To all who are battling Cancer just know we may not know one another but just know that I'm here for you 100% as a close friend you never knew you had. You got this and you have purpose and are truly loved.
@@maggieelizabethmcgraw8815 thank you!!!!!! Yes!!! I am obsessed with that song!!!! And many more of his obviously!!!! But this one I send to anyone I know and love. Because it should be our national anthem ♥️✨😄✨♥️✨!!
January 2015 I was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. In June of the same year my youngest daughter was diagnosed with a rare Childhood Cancer. I am literally living like I'm dying. Thank you God for yesterday and today.
MrJMO78 my fiance was diagnosed 2 years am with testicular cancer. we just finished a bone Marrow transplant and outlook is good. keep your chin up sending prayers to you and your family.
MrJMO78 ...That is a very scary walk to take. May God Bless you and your family. This is my 16th year cancer free, enjoy your health and take care of your family.

As a breast cancer survivor, this song really resonates. My BC was due to stress. I have learned to say No, put myself first, enjoy every moment of life with my kids and the people I love. Thank you for recording this song ❤️
I was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 adenocarcinoma in my esophagus and lymph nodes. I plan on living just like this song. I’ve had a good life but plan on making it even better. Live, Love and Laugh. You only have two days in your life, good days and bad days, make them good days!
When I was diagnosed with colon cancer, I listened to Bad Day by Daniel Powder on the way home. After speaking with the surgeon, I listened to this on they way home. After recovery i went sky diving , swam with the manatee in Belize , played golf at the top rated courses in the world...did a solo walk through of the Oakland coliseum, Thank you coach Gruden. You only live once ,do not wait until you have a terminal illness to go do fun things . I watch ed the Bucket list , you should also
Ok it’s crazy how a song that reminds us that life is precious. The comment section can be so uplifting and encouraging. If only we all could live everyday like this!!
As I get older in life, turned 40 in April 2024, it's songs like this one and many similar that start having more depth and meaning to them. They make you take a step back, look around at the people and places in ur life.
2 years ago,my mom passed away from Stage 4 colon cancer. She was in so much pain. But when she had cancer, she had a better bond with Jesus. She forgave everyone that hurt her [physically and emotionally]. Now she's an angel in heaven. God Bless Everyone that is in so much pain or regardless.
Brianna Bauer I am sorry to hear about your mom My Dad is battling the same thing its been a little of a year of heavy duty chemo and radiation he stays so strong and I know its killing him my thoughts and prayers are with you
Understand your pain, last 2 years i have lost 3 grandparents my grandmother die from emphysema, on the other side of my family my grandfather died from MRSA from how weak his kidneys were from being on a steroid for COPD, then my other grandmother died from thyroid cancer that wants the worst part, the worst part as when doctors said she had three months after surgery to live and 10 days later she passed so this Thanksgiving and Christmas has been really hard for my family.
I know no one will see this but this is my story on this song. Ever since I could remember I have loved this song. Every time I heard it, it made me so so happy. Still to this day it is my favorite country song. One day I told my dad it was my favorite song and he told me to immediately call my mom. I said okay and called her. I told her and I could feel her happy energy through the phone. She told me that when she was pregnant with me that I would kick and go crazy to this song. This story still makes me so happy. Thank you❤️
After been diagnosed with HIV December 9th, this song inspired to fight and never give up and live a normal life with my kids and wife. This diagnosis changed the way I look at life.
From now on I will live like I am dying in honor of my friend who sadly lost his fight with cancer just last Monday. I will never forget though we only knew each other a few years. I learned so much from you and I will never let you taught go to waste. RIP my friend
I had widow maker heart attack at 43, survived, kicked cardio rehab butt, and made life long changes. Two years later passing a kidney stone, found out I had stage one in situ Bladder Cancer(15mm tumor) on the dome of the bladder. A area that is always caught too late. I have been at war with my body for the last eight years…but I’m still here. My biggest battle has been finding out my wife of 16 years(three children) had two affairs while receiving cancer treatment during COVID. I stopped all treatments and made peace with this decision. I have no fight left. This song is a masterpiece in fighting. But sometimes you just got to give G_d the respect and steering wheel. And see what He can make of it. Keep the faith to all my cancer warriors!!
This song brings me back to when my dad was in the hospital. He's okay now, but it just reminds you how precious life is. Never ever take it for granted.
I hear ya. My grandfather died last year and I know how precious life can be and why living every second of one's life is important. I intend to do the same one day.
Morgan Brandenburg i lost my dad 4yrs AGO to cancer... PLZ PLZ PLZ tell him every single DAY YOU LOVE him!!!! I tell my MOM I LOVE her multiply TIMES a day... By the way im 40..... Your parents ARE everything!!!
This song makes me think of our son, Brian who died suddenly doing what he loved to do. He was in such a good place when he died...with his relationships and all those he loved. He was on a mountain bike trail in Oregon when he had a heart attack. His last words to the emergency cardiac nurses who were riding with him that day were. "Tell my wife I love her." He had served for 14 years as a Navy SeaBee...and built and serviced the big Air Crane Helicopters used to fight forest fires...He had just returned from working in Australia and was scheduled to go to Greece in the Spring...Whenever I see a new forest fire break out I pray for those fighting them, knowing he'd be there if he could...keeping the Air Cranes flying.....He was 48 years young.
Hi John, sorry for your big loss. I happened to see your comments here while I was listening to "Live like you were dying." Oregon trail is beautiful and I believe all the beautiful memories and scenery in Oregon are with your dear son forever, and don't forget your son's spirit will always be with those fire fighters in the forest. Alex in Taiwan (used to live in Oregon)
i was diagnosed 1-3-19 they hit me with 9 mos maybe a year,6 mos into chemo i stopped all treatments and decided to ride this out, if the drs are right this will be my last christmas with my kids and grands and 1 great grand i'm not going to lay around feeling sorry for myself i'm made this choice because i could
You lived a life to see your children's children, that's all we can ask for sir. God bless you stranger. May you never face your struggle with weakness.
I've known this song since it came out, but it's hitting me super hard at 55.....thank you to Tim Mcgraw, songwriters and producers!!!!!!!!! For believing in this project. Cause 20 years later. I get it
Just last Monday I had a massive heart attack, but thanks to God and the doctors.. I'm still here and not giving up!
All Glory to Jesus!

12 years clean of stage 4 Pancreatic cancer thanks to God and his blessings.
You are extremely fortunate. My dad was diagnosed in 2019, and I only had 8 days with him from the day of his diagnosis to the day of his death.
Thank goodness for the medical staff and medical options we have.
My wife's father passed away 5 years after getting diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. You're a miracle
What a blessing. God is great 🙏
My dadnwas diagnosed in apirl 2020 and passed dec 2021
When my husband and I married, he told me that the Doctor told him he would probably only live 5 years because of his heart, and I told him that we'd have five good years together then....he listened to this song all the time like many others have. He lived 12 years after we married, seven more than the doc. predicted....we lived our lives as full as we could, motorcycle riding, raising great danes, camping, and finally building a "trike" for him. This was an amazing song for my love, my husband and my best friend. He took his ride with God in 2016 since we needed more thunder. I miss him terribly. Thank you for this song.
❤❤❤❤❤
Amen 🙏🏼
my husband and i use to listen to this song all the time. and he always lived like he was dieing and I'm glad because he passed at the age of 44 in 2016
@@sonyamaher7825 I'm sorry for your loss as I know the pain is real and never really goes away. Your husband was very young...my husband was 63....I'm glad they lived their lives to the fullest...I think we were both blessed to have such amazing men in our lives. You take care as you put one foot in front of the other....that's what I do...slowly...but I do it. Love to you.
You are both very lucky souls
My mom lived her last year of life to the fullest before she passed from an accident. This was one of the songs she played a lot ironically. She reunited with family, became closer to God, had fun and explored the beautiful world and cooked all the traditional foods she loved from back in España. TE QUIERO MAMI RIP.❣️

You shouldn't need to be dying to be a good person!

Anyone listening to this masterpiece in 2024?

Yes, I'm sitting in a miserable, sanctions-shattered Russia, and I'm crying, I'm still crying over this great song [sarcasm].

This song came out the same time my husband was told he had two weeks to live.
We were blessed he lived a year two months and 10 days. We had been married 32 years, 4 months and five days. We had been childhood sweethearts. ❤️
We are going thru it now. We just found out yesterday about my Dad.

My husband loves this song, we listened to it at the beach about a month ago. Then about three weeks ago I played it for him while he was on life support. I'm listening to it now alone. I lost the love of my life on July 31st. Nobody loved deeper than him. And nobody loved him deeper than me.

What happened to there being a plan?
I was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2013, during the toughest times of my battle
I would often get on my Harley and go out for a late night ride to clear my head.
Tim, if you ever read this
Thank You and God Bless
Surrounded by death my entire life either at work, home or friends I never got to do that, still cannot but God I would love to take that night ride under the stars in the night in the rain and just hold on and look up then go home to my loved friends and family.

That's fantastic.
We must be glad and grateful the doctors can do what they can. But we have to keep after them to do more.
I love this song and will play it some more to remind me that life is short and we should live each day as fully as we can.❤
Thanks 😊 so much for the love and support ❤️🩹 comments like this are priceless …Are you one of my great fans out there?

Yummy
God Bless you Mr.
Traveling the country on the road is always amazing. Punk and country. Awesome combo.
Dig deeper and hang in there gutsy girl. From an old hippie with too many diseases to list!! ✌️❤️

Thank you Richard Simmons for never giving up on yourself. You powered through and taught us all the value in ourselves.
The Dr. gave me a year left back in February 2018. So yep, I started LIVING for the first time! Oh, and I'm still here. Livin'.
You still alive Rick?

Was diagnosed in March with stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma and everyday has been a struggle but I’m trying to make the most of it. I’m glad my wife and kids are here to help push me through. Currently completed 10 out of 12 treatments and my body is reacting well! Live each day as it was your last.
My Dad was just diagnosed yesterday with the same thing
Hang in there Robert. The finish line is in sight.
God bless you and your family
God bless u man. Keep moving forward. U can win this fight
Robert you have to give us a 1 year update, brother. How are you, Robert?
I've survived cancer 3 times , and the first few lines of this song described me to a T. But by the grace of God I'm still around with a wonderful wife that helped me every step of the way
Song means so much as we age!
God Bless you
My best friend died of cancer when this song first came out. I remember hearing it on the radio right after I got the call. Every time I hear it now it brings me comfort. I'm reminded of the happy times that I shared with him.
Thanks for your likes and comments on my official page ❤

I just buried my husband due to covid19,, and this song reminds me of him because even thru all of the adversities he was always humble and kind. He would help all and always had a smile on his face doing it. I felt blessed to have had the time I was given with him. Thank you Mr. McGraw for helping me to continue teaching his granddaughters this blessed message.
Jo you will reunited him again! All the love will keep him alive

RIP D. A. W. 😢
🕊️❤️❤️
You are indeed a good friend.
What is your friend's name?
My husband died 3 times last year but with many prayers and faith in the good lord and doctors he and I are celebrating our 32nd anniversary this year. Amen 🙏💓🙏
God bless! Wonderful news ❤️
I lost my dad two weeks ago and this song reminds me of how he lived his life every day. 😢
Sending u peace. The river will always be there when you're ready to try fishing again. ❤
My nephew had no issues and out of the blue got blood clots and then cancer, and passed in around august. only took about 6 months from start to finnish.
My cousin was just diagnosed with glioblastoma in operable brain cancer. She’s always been a fighter. I sent her and her family members this fabulous song.
Anyone else have a Dad who died of cancer and can relate to this song on a whole different level?
Me!!!!!
True - have a humble & kind spirit does not mean be a fool - humble & kind at work will get you demolished & NEVER have anything to do with ANYONE, EVEN FAMILY, that does not return the same humility & kindness. THEY WILL NEVER CHANGE.
My mom adored Tim. I lost her in August of 2020 before she was 50. I listen to this song to feel her spirit, alive and thriving.
Respect love you pray for you
GOD BLESS. ❤❤❤🕊🕊🕊🌎🌎🌎
I lost my mom in August 2020 as well. Big hug soul sister. ❤

In my early 30's when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and this song is about the only thing that got me thru it, Thanks Tim !
❤️❤️
How long have you been a fan Paul?
I'm so sorry to hear, mind if I ask how are you doing now?
So sorry to hear this. How are you doing now?
Wow. Losing grandmas suck! Sorry man.
I have a brain tumor born with congenital avm wich is a brain malformation and playin a game on fb this was the song they given me Well I had to listen and I started cryin. Hang in there baby promise it gets copeable but never easy.❤

So sorry to hear this. How are u doing man?
praying for you
I have NET also found out around Christmas 2023. I thought of this song as soon as I found out. I hope you’re doing well now.
Get well soon 😊
God Bless
❤
So sorry! How old are you? Are you still with us? Do you believe in the one and only true God, Jesus Christ?

I honestly love your posts and always enjoy reading them in my lonely spare time. I'm so sorry I invaded your privacy, but I'd love to be friends with someone who could share such sensitive post content, which means you're a woman of integrity. I wanted to add you but sending you a friend request without your consent is inappropriate because I'm a public figure and it wouldn't take much either, I'd appreciate it if you send me a friend request now so we can be friends and text better here on RUclips ❤️

Brianna Bauer my great paw Paw to died of cancer last year just as my paw pa wdid
Thank you❤️
That's why you still love this song

After been diagnosed with HIV December 9th, this song inspired to fight and never give up and live a normal life with my kids and wife. This diagnosis changed the way I look at life.
Anthony, God Bless You and Yours! 🎶💜🎶✝️🦋
Anthony, I wish you so much love, from your family and friends. Sending positive energy to you.
I intend to do the same one day.
my dad was in the hospital
I am so sorry to hear your lost. God bless you and your family!
I'm sorry for your loss
