The night stages in this game are the closest I’ve ever seen a Sonic game get to Donkey Kong 64 or Banjo Kazooie.
Imagine this, Sonic Unleashed "Ultimate" and replace the night stages with the Wii version night stages....shorter, less "annoying", more exploration and more platformig, a bit simple but Im pretty sure people won't be that mad with the night stages on X-360/Ps3 if these were the stages.
I really can't see why people can't stand the werehog; surely, it was slower, but still, it was a lot of fun.
I suppose the Xbox/PS3 version of the werehog was probably the one that made people mad; the stages are waay too long and much more battle-focused than the Wii version. This led to long, repetitive levels where you did some platforming, then killed some monsters, then did some platforming, then killed some monsters, and some more and some more until you reached the goal, rinse and repeat.
I only played the Wii version, but I did find some videos on the more modern version, which has better graphics, for sure, but just badly slow gameplay. The platforming is also a bit too reliant on the 'walk on thin ledges' mechanic, which just slows it even more, and the inside of the clock is a bit too difficult.
I mean, here we have: platform, fight some monsters for a bit, now avoid some spikes, now activate platforms, now find all the three thingamajiggers to open a path to the goal, now make your way to the goal while fighting these like three monsters; there, we have: fight these guys, now these guys, now go over here, now fight these guys, now activate this lever, now fight these guys, now get on these ledges and slooowly make your way to point B, now climb the tower over these moving platforms and ledges while avoiding saws and electric barriers to get to point C, now fight the monsters to open the goal.
Though the combat in both versions is very varied with a whole lot of very cheesily named moves, the Wii version, with its more fragmented levels, with less time to get through them and more focus on actual platforming, makes for some more interesting, more fun gameplay, while the slower, more hazardful and battle filled levels of the more "refined" version are almost boring to get through.
Also the Xbox versions's other acts. We don't talk about the Xbox version's acts after number 2.
I'm glad to see i ain't the only one using Gamecube controls!

Man, I was playing this stage on the ps2 the other day, and the screen was just dark. Like really dark. Looked really cool though.
I perfer his running cycles for this one more then the Xbox and ps3 versions with the arms swaying
0:00 nostalgic 😍
So, what's next? Chun-Nan?
Yes
Chun-Nan is basically the Sonic version of China
CHIP???
At 9:58 how it tbe world do I do that jump with wii remote and knuckles? I've been stuck there my whole entire life. I am frustrated, with the two dubble fast jump I am always short, If I try a one jump and second later try to re jump again it doesn't jump, I've trained on the ground and it works but it doesn't work when I'm trying to make that jump.
Put yourself in the back of the platform, then dash forward and do the double jump to get there but you need to do the dash or else you will be short in distance
@@jayck7686 thank you! I will try it
