    This was very helpful, thank you! I will use this to try my next shot, since I want to emulate a white room. I plan to shoot in front of the white wall and put the green screen on the floor in order to get the 3D appearance. I would then blow a white wall a bit and key out the green to white. Do you think this would work, or I need a larger green screen that would cover wall + floor?

    • @TheShowShow
      @TheShowShow  2 месяца назад +1

      The success of this approach will depend on your skin tone. The reason we use green is because it's so far away from any human skin tone, so it works flawlessly pretty much every time (unless your subject is feeling really sick and their skin is green - haha!) My skin, for example, would not key well against a white wall using this technique. If you have darker skin and wear clothing that is far away from white in the spectrum, it could work. You'll have trouble with teeth and eyes, regardless, which can be overcome using the technique I use to leave my green Category5 TV logo on my shirt when shooting on green screen. Instead, you may want to shoot on a white wall and then blow it out in post (increase the luminance, remove all shadows). But keying on green can work pretty well for white room as well, as shown in our Matrix spoof (which was shot using the technique I describe): ruclips.net/video/yx9TxQ2tPf0/видео.html

    Thank you so much for the info. Davinci can be so overwhelming as there are so many panels. What bugs me as I always end up working in a small window. I press P to make it big, but you can not edit there. So I end up working in a 3 inch window. : (

      This was one of the biggest selling points for me when considering buying DaVinci Resolve Studio: Fullscreen clean output to a TV. So I can edit on one screen, with my 4K 55-inch TV showing me my preview. Never going back 😍

    A million thanks for that. I am using Resolve 18, and it seems that they have done something to the 3D Key OpenEffect. This is a much better way and gives way much more control and adjustment possibilities!

    Hi there! I was wondering if there is a way to do multiple chroma keys? My flooring is a slightly different green than my screen and it seems that even if I drag my blue line over both colors, it doesn't quite want to catch it all. I'm so close to figuring it out... until I realized you can't have two alpha outputs. Help would be so much appreciated!

      You can click the qualifier with the + icon next to it to switch to adding a second (third, fourth) color. Good luck!
