"the annarcho- authoritarian ex junior academic, wearing a crude reconstruction of our saviours whiskers, Mr Gareth evens, who is now in purgatory .." more gold
+Rhonda Balzan Bastow I recall that the real BA was still rabitting on about the "red menace" on his weekly TV spot right up until the Berlin wall came down in '89. After that , he became completely irrelevant as even the Australian Communist Party wound down and eventually disbanded. The local party has recently been revived, but we no longer have Bob Santamaria to defend us !! However, it can't be denied that in the 1950's , the communists were indeed a big problem, and BA needs to be appreciated in that context.
@@russellbrown7028 "I believe that Marxism has been completely bypassed by nihilism and in fact Marxism is no longer an ideology that we need worry about simply because it makes no more converts. But nihilism makes converts even among people who don't know the word nihilism." - B. A. Santamaria in 1983. You are an imaginative liar.
Just wondering about the writer credits for this. Sounds like maybe Bob Ellis and/or Patrick Cook? Colossal performance by Gillies, but John Derum's BAS in the Dismissal might be dramatically closer?

This is satire - The Dismissal was straight drama. Slight difference.
Ellis couldn't write this it wasn't about him.
Bob and Doc Mannix and the DLP have the lives of the 585 soldiers who died in Vietnam on their consciences
B. A santamaria sounds something like Humphrey B Bear
Gillies was brilliant.
god satire.
