- Joining friends to celebrate a birthday, picking the right venue isn't that easy in Sunny Beach during peak season. We eventually get it right and everyone had a really great night at the Mena Cocktail Bar. We started the night eating locally at a small bistro that just opened next to our apartment in the back streets, delicious and authentic, not touristy fayre. Meeting up with friends at a tourist restaurant/ bar it soon became apparent they had chosen wrong, noisy children's entertainment at the hotel next door and staff intimated that unless we were eating' our growing party wasn't really that welcome. Surprising how quickly it changes from a few weeks ago when they were outside asking us in to buy a drink and the restaurant wasn't packed! We finished off at the Iglika Bar and it was a very long night as we met so many subscribers and viewers, lots of selfies were taken as well.

It was delicious but not for everyone. Trying to show some variety and what is available apart from chicken and chips lol

Fun flying with trees all over, my old drone has no sensors to avoid them. Susan has the meatballs often but these were really good
Finally foreigners trying local food. "Vegan and vegetarian" offends will criticise you for horse meat but we ate it in Bankya next to Sofia and very very tasty. I suggest you try cow tongue with mushrooms an absolute delight 😁 it melts in your mouth...
We do try and show a variety , there is great food here even for those not liking meat. Love the broccoli and cheeses here myself as well as meat. Of course they dont have much beef so horse makes a change from chicken and pork. We do actually live here and eat Bulgarian most of the time.
Nice to see a traditional Bulgarian restaurant, will give this a try when we are back. But not the horse sausage, that’s a Nay from me 😂😂😂

Hard to film along there we did and binned it. The hotel is a Nevis so it will be great, with the fencing we couldn't see much that day.
Hi I'm going to sunny beach for a holiday from Ireland in Sept 2nd . Is it true that its similar to the US where as you must tip bartenders and restaurants? Love yer videos really helpful and gets me in the holiday sprit i can't wait to get there .
Tip if you get good service, they do earn from tips rather than good wages.
@sunnybeachlife5860 OK, but is it frowned apon if you don't all the time ? Like for instance going to a bar for a drink , is it expected to tip most of the time ? Sorry to be annoying 😅 and thanks for your reply

The busy tourist areas are lit by he hotels and bars. There are lights further back around the apartment areas. It's not a problem till out of season when all closed up.
Do you know if the hotels and apartments force the tourists to have a plastic wristband all the time? This was the case in Golden Sands. Or do they allow you to have it in your pocket or something?
Dont know we have never stayed at a hotel with bands. Safest is wear it as if you lose it might be hungry without food! Some now are coded for door entry as well.
Does Christmas still work in the iglika? Hes a great character, 👍👍

What Taxi would you recommend for a UK Tourist on Holiday?
We use Yani, all the ex pat's do. Dont get in one without a price as greed and get a couple of quotes.

I love horse, haven't had any for a while since we were in Belgium. As an ingredient of salami style sausage people eat it all the time and don't think twice! Great to show something out of the ordinary for a change.
