      Richard I'm really disappointed in you, saying how a lot of people border you in St. Lucia ...do they rob your money or camera... No! they are just trying to sell you things that's it, your are a visitor and they are the vendors. Back in the days visitor were buying from the street vendors.. Now the fucking hotel's have an all inclusive so they have to go to you when they see you on the streets....

    I am originally from Ukraine. Before visiting St Lucia in late 1990's I had travelled to more than 20 countries. When I saw St Lucia for the first time I immediately fell in love with it. It was the most beautiful country I'd seen so far to that point of time. The people of the island were very proud, handsome, friendly and knowledge-thirsty. There was a lot of poverty but no panhandlers whatsoever. And amid this gift of Nature lies Sufriere, a fantastically beautiful town, a real gem that I don't have words to describe. You have to see it.

    Kinda strange, but I like meeting locals when I go to a place (any place) I´ve been to the Caribbean a few times and never had any problem anywhere. Sure, a few ppl might hustle a bit, but there´s no harm in that. We we´re in Dominica in Jan 2017 before it got flattened, the locals were very friendly. We drank in the local bar in a village where there were zero tourists, and got invited to a bbq the next day. Same in Grenada the first time I went alone, I met lots of locals, some even invited me home, for a drink, or stopped and gave me a ride when I was walking back from a bar late at night.I still have friends there and have been there twice. WE even walked cross country over the southern tip of the island, down to another bay and got a local guy to take us out to an island where there was a beach bbq, and everyone was drunk or stoned, but no hassle at all, just had some lunch from the grill there, chilled a few hours, and got a ride back with another boat. Then got a local guy to drive us back. We paid them of course, but it was a small fee for the experience. And in Barbados, every time I stepped out of the hotel guys were offering weed. No problem. I just say no thanks and it´s fine. Everywhere I´ve been in the Caribbean, ppl just say hello because it´s polite, not necessarily that they want something. And a lot better and less hassle there than Thailand or Turkey, where the locals grab your shirt and try to drag you in a restaurant or onto a boat trip. And while you were polite enough with the locals, you did mention you got bothered, but I didn´t really see anything there. Maybe just chill a bit and you´d enjoy it so much more :)

    Had to turn this off as soon as you said, "the problem with walking around here, is, the people will bother you". What does that mean?
    The only bothering I saw, was you directing the camera right at local's faces.
    Soufriere is one of my favorite places on earth. The locals are amazing. Don't travel to populated places, if you don't want to be "bothered".

    Just came back from St. Lucia and visited Soufriere and ironically that same kid offering you the leaf “figures” or whatever those were did the same to us, made small talk, gave us these leaf things, and asked for a donation for his brothers and sisters. Regardless, I loved it there and St. Lucians overall are very nice people.

      I remembered someone doing that to me and my family when we visited on a cruise ship in 2015. They got us that time. I knew what the trick was this time.

    Finally I see some tourists ? what you mean man? the population on most Caribbean islands are mainly black people if in case you missed that . Don't like the fact that people hustle ? some of them have it hard you know and while this maybe considered annoying that the same person approaches you twice to buy something . it is way better than doing crime like robbing that camera from you .
    If you were born there you would get a better understanding of what you view as paradise . Maybe for those who call this place home , just maybe for them it is not the paradise you see it as .

    • @RichardsWorld
      @RichardsWorld  6 лет назад +1

      I have been to almost all Caribbean countries. There is some information that you are missing. The reason for low tourists is the hurricanes that came through the Caribbean. I would have added another Caribbean nation or two if those hurricanes didn't just hit them. So, what I mean is a lot of the islands have had very few tourists during this time when the video was recorded. I'm not talking about December 2017.

      Very. Went on my first real island vacation and im looking at moving to st lucia actually. You have to have a certain taste and be very accepting of culture differences bit i find it beautiful. Look into St thomas or St John as your first trip if it is, its somewhat american so gives you a taste

      Where ya from? I live in suburb/city in the states and this is very open. The high hills dont exist where i live so they are a luxury to me. I feel closterphobic where there is no greenery. This place is wonderful
