It's a really interesting question. There seems to be a lot of love, affection (both physical and emotional) and comraderie amongst the theater kids especially. Which makes sense, since it's a discipline which rewards cooperation as opposed to competition. I wonder if maybe that's the difference.
This guy is so smart, this is not his first language, yet he speaks so eloquently, and with such clear words and thoughts, I wish I could speak and think like that in my own language hahah!

I completely agree with Edvin that sexuality is not the main focus of the show, and it’s just lovely and validating to have queer relationships represented so well and with the same tender care as heterosexual relationships are represented. The way most students at Hillerska react to queer couples during S1 and S2 is the same way that most audiences react to them. The social hierarchy is a much bigger hurdle in this show. And I do believe that within my generation we will move toward that future where sexuality is a spectrum that just is, like somebody’s hair color or name. We will not need to come out because we’ll dismantle the traditions requiring people to stay in the closet. I’m so very proud and so very impressed with every single cast member; they are all so thoughtful and earnest in their interviews. Young Royals is a work of art. I recommend it to everyone. Edvin is so amazing in it, and I appreciate how deeply he thinks about Wilhelm’s character and how much effort he puts into understanding the prince’s behaviors. Tack!!!! It's my view that the queer love story doesn't work without the central conflict revolving around shame or guilt. Where Young Royals succeeds is that the shame isn't between Simon and Wilhelm, and it's not really about the sexuality at all, it's about Wilhelm's guilt in not being able to live up to the role he inherited from his brother, which has nothing to do with his sexuality. At no point is he afraid to love Simon, nor is he really afraid to have it be known. But he is afraid of tarnishing his brother's legacy.

And comes over very well which isn't easy when faced with an uninterrupted gushing interviewer who doesn't demonstrate here a similar level of thoughtfulness. /As for Heartstopper: Young Royals in its script, its performances is in a totally superior league. Heartstopper could only appeal to 12 year olds, I'd have thought: there REALLY just isn't much to it.

It is a beautiful dream, but you will always have to come out because the world is controlled by majorities and majorities always want to identify and label minorities, control them, and even discriminate, in this case, the majority are heterosexuals, depending on a country around 85 - 95% of the population ... the sad truth is gay people only get to live their life because heterosexual let them... The whole idea that heterosexuals get to sit down and decide if gay people can get married is bizarre ... It would be like women taking a vote to decide if men are allowed to masturbate .... if the world was truly democratic and moral, then only gay people would decide their own future, (in other words, any minorities would get to decide for themselves) ... heterosexuals should not even have say in this .... and that will never be the case ...
