This is an exceptional amp. Made me sell most of my other amps. Pros: easy to to get your best sound for any venue size using volume and attenuator. Just easily gets you where you want. If you play live gigs, you cannot go wrong. Covers a lot of ground quick Cons: attenuator on back of amp.Power/standby on backs.
This amp is killer - just got mine last week in turquois to fit my new Gretsch. Put this amp on a stand (i.e. not on the floor) to give it the air to breeze!
Joel's videos are the best demos on YT, by a mile. Shame the guitar's so out of tune on this one though. Still, you get to hear the amp and that's the whole point so it's all good. Looks like a fun amp
I love these really sweet sounding amps, cause when you destroy them with distortion they sound so nasty. Grindcore on an amp like this is awesome. I used to have a Roland Jazz Chorus amp that sounded SO dirty with heavy distortion.
Awesome playing and great review. I was wondering if you guys would consider using more reference guitars when you review new amps - kind of gives us a more direct comparison of how one amp compares to another with a strat / tele / LP or 335. Not that I don't love the Fano, I just don't know how it would sound through a different amp so I'm not sure if this is a bright amp or a bright guitar. Anyway - keep up the good work.
Joel Bauman I'm curious about the guitar. How do you adjust the intonation on that bridge? It (the guitar) looks amazing. Also great demo but I think the collings + victoria did Ten Years Gone a bit better.
Great Tone. I do hear quite a bit of Buzzing even when your Playing. Is That the nature of the Amp or will the Ironman Calm the Buzzing down? By the way your an AWESOME Player. Great demo.
Shaharazad221 I absolutely played the Tonebender but somehow it ended up on the cutting room floor... maybe you should send a strongly worded e-mail to my video editor? :p
Joel Bauman hey Joel, I would like to know how well does the Falcon Grande work with pedals, specially with a Fuzz Face (... at least the Fuzz Face is just like a MK I.5 Tone Bender).
kruller It LOVES fuzzes, specifically more vintage style stuff (germanium especially). I would put any good germanium Fuzz Face or Tone Bender style pedal in front of this and be very happy-- just think of it like a Blackface Fender/Tweed Deluxe/Supro Thunderbolt combination and imagine how much fun you can have putting fuzzes in front of those. I bet a good treble booster would be KILLER too, especially on the tweed or lead modes.
Joel, tell CME to put you on this thing in an "action vid." ASAP. I'd love to hear it in a band context! Maybe something like a Widespread/Billy Idol/Bob Marley medley....
Pepe Vélez I will say, if you want what on the surface looks like a Deluxe Reverb, but sounds so much better, that you can get everything from Blackface Deluxe Reverb to a screaming Tweed Deluxe almost JTM45 sound, then the Imperial Mk II is perfect. I have one I use for clubs and run it at one step down on the Ironman attenuator 95% of the time. Occasionally I gotta go to full output to keep up with a Twin Reverb, doing R&B, Blues and Rock. I don’t use pedals, just a guitar straight into the amp. I’m usually on the lead channel and rely on the guitar’s volume to clean up the amp. Strats sounds glorious through it. Humbuckers make it sound nasty and snarling and will bring out your rocker. It’s a hellacious, fun, amp. The Falcon Grande is really nice too, but it’s a different sounding power amp. IIRC, the Grande is ultra-linear which has a little spongier older sound than the Imperial’s pentode-wired power section, which is where a lot of the Deluxe Reverb sound comes from.
Or, a Novo... which is basically a Fano after he (Dennis Fano) sold the company. Novo’s are amazing instruments and play and sound incredible. That’s why I own 3. 🔥🔥🔥 ✌🏼
Damn awesome amp! I have opinions too ya know...such as, when I think I’m starting to play okay, I realize I still suck lol. But who cares, got the love ❤️
So, can someone tell me if I'm missing something here? The only difference between the Falcon and the Grande is the 12" speaker, footswitching, and reverb? The Grande goes for a LOT more than a used Falcon, and I'm having a hard time understanding why.
Not sure if you all still check comments on these videos, but I own this amp and in the Tweed and Lead voicings my amp produced a lot more high end and looses some of its low, but this one doesn’t sound like it’s doing that. Any suggestions as to why this might be? I experience this with my American Strat and my SG standard.
Post production Probably but should use your tone control on your guitar Really makes a difference I'm thinking about getting one Any regrets ?? Thanks
Nick paflas Cheap isn't what Tone King does. We've got tons of cheap stuff at CME, but those aren't the most cost-effective products to make video demos for.
Teun Putker Definitely not cheap, but a seriously great amp (speaking of the 1x10 Falcon). I was floored by how it sounds and got rid of a couple of mine to afford it
kommi1974 If you can't hear that the tuning is a bit off on all of the playing samples, that'd be 'just your ears.' For example, listen to the chord at 6:20.
Says someone who hasn’t ever played one? I’ve played four different models of Toneking amps and ended up buying two of them. They’re really, really, great amps and worth every penny. They’re not for the pedalboard and Hotrod Deluxe crowd though, they’re levels above that.
Do I want an amp that looks like an old fonky ass tv ? NO . Learn how to design. Look at Peavey, they know how its done …….. hahah just kidding about the peavey shit. Anyway, I gotta get back to my amp build. Later.
For years I’ve gone back to rewatch this over and over. Five years gone.
See you for the reunion in 5 more
See you there lads
Ben Affleck playing a TV.
lmao hahaha
An apt statement.
Still funny 7 years later.
Ten years gone by. Damn, that sounded so good that it almost made me cry.
Something about the looks of this amp that reminds me (in a good way) of an old TV. I'm hoping to get one of these someday
I could listen to Joel forever! so good!

Joel's the man...great playing, great reviews.
SUBSCRIBE & TURN ON NOTIFICATIONS TO NEVER MISS A GEAR DEMO!
bro you killed it with that little rendition of ten yrs gone. havnt heard that song in 15 yrs probably
Pretty sick tones. Might have to grab a grande
God Damn this guitar and amp combo.... Just wow
Joel's videos are the best demos on YT, by a mile. Shame the guitar's so out of tune on this one though. Still, you get to hear the amp and that's the whole point so it's all good. Looks like a fun amp
10 years gone, Led Zeppelin, nice pick guys.
I love these really sweet sounding amps, cause when you destroy them with distortion they sound so nasty. Grindcore on an amp like this is awesome. I used to have a Roland Jazz Chorus amp that sounded SO dirty with heavy distortion.
Led Zeppelin ♡
Great riff at the end with the stunted G/
Yes I see the 1482 high on the shelf behind your left shoulder LOVE mine I'm so in the fence on what Tone King to get Digging the Falcon
Amazing playing ! Thank You.Great Video.Great Amp!
What Perfect Hair... THe Amp sounds nice also

love to hear this thing with some fuzz
Beautiful amp, but that Fano is 🙌 The Dennis build RB6 Thinline with a Tele bridge and Gold Foil neck was just perfection.
wow that sounds great...love tone king:)
Nicely played!
Oh man, an fx loop and this is THE ultimate amplifier
These amps are meant to be played dirty man.. with touch of reverb into the front end. Have a 1606. Pure tonal skullduggery.
Fano x Toneking = 💯💯💯💯
Oooh yes please, I'd like one of those !!!!What a sweet sounding amp and sweet playing too :O)
great job!
Ten Years Gone ... love Jimmy Page. Nice tone BTW.
Joel Bauman I'm curious about the guitar. How do you adjust the intonation on that bridge? It (the guitar) looks amazing. Also great demo but I think the collings + victoria did Ten Years Gone a bit better.
wish you guys used a Royer 121 with the 57 to really showcase this amp's sexy tone. Still sounds great!
man that fano was a sexy guitar though
Led Zeppelin 😍
Wow! Such a great TV! :)
I would love to try this and see how much different it is from my Fender DRRI (head + 212 V30 cab).
Great Tone. I do hear quite a bit of Buzzing even when your Playing. Is That the nature of the Amp or will the Ironman Calm the Buzzing down? By the way your an AWESOME Player. Great demo.
True. Especially Single Coils add a Lot of Buzzing.
The amps are totally quiet. If the room has a lot of EMI the guitar picks it up.
You can not just tease us about how wonderful it sounds with a tonebender and then not show us how wonderful it sounds.
Shaharazad221 I absolutely played the Tonebender but somehow it ended up on the cutting room floor... maybe you should send a strongly worded e-mail to my video editor? :p

Are you guys going to review the Tone king imperial II at some point ? I have seen that you use it in many videos

@@8sigreg Wow thanks for your comment lots of info. I really want to try them before buying any Cheers
Playing Zep got me to watch, the amp got me to stay.
I thought it was a tv at first glance
Second demo with this led Zeppelin song. And you think we wouldn't notice.
Black crowes sound !!!!
What guitar could be similar to the one Joel is playing ?!
Maybe a supro or teisco?
Or, a Novo... which is basically a Fano after he (Dennis Fano) sold the company.
Novo’s are amazing instruments and play and sound incredible. That’s why I own 3. 🔥🔥🔥
✌🏼
Damn awesome amp! I have opinions too ya know...such as, when I think I’m starting to play okay, I realize I still suck lol. But who cares, got the love ❤️
were these amps made only for fano guitars? a lot of demos of tone king amps include a fano guitar
Joel is the shit..............!
The Who rock!
Yes they do!
Dang! Why you have to make this awesome video?! Now I need to scrounge up all the money I have to try to get this AMP! Damn you!
Jin Jung That's the point!
So, can someone tell me if I'm missing something here? The only difference between the Falcon and the Grande is the 12" speaker, footswitching, and reverb? The Grande goes for a LOT more than a used Falcon, and I'm having a hard time understanding why.
Empathy37 nope, this one is 20w, the original is 12w.
Added circuitry and reverb, more power, bigger speaker. The Falcon is a great little amp. The Grande could be used on stage easily.
Sounds great... Maybe as good as Swart, but for me Sound City SC20 takes the cake...
Not sure if you all still check comments on these videos, but I own this amp and in the Tweed and Lead voicings my amp produced a lot more high end and looses some of its low, but this one doesn’t sound like it’s doing that. How does this amp sound with an acoustic guitar?
I wished it would be cheap, but, ofcourse, it isn't
Teun Putker Cheap isn't really what CME does.
Nick paflas I've noticed, thanks.

***** Oh nice
I'm trying to understand how this amp works. Does each voicing have it's own separate controllable gain stage?
+pjmuck Nah, its probably a couple of caps on the cathode of an input preamp, and off the grid for some tone shaping. No need for multiple gain stages
please use a reference guitar. You may have well used an electric sitar.
This amp kinda makes me feel sometimes I didn't had to grow
What's he playing at 2:28?
They call me the Seeker...
What is that silver/gray pedal on the floor?
It's the rythmm/tweed/lead selector that comes with the amp
I hate you Joel! You are way toooooo talented for my tastes!! hahahaha!! JTL
Let’s play guitars no one has...lol...this is the best sounding amp ever
wow i didnt know Ben afflec played guitar
about 2400$
More than I'm willing to pay for a TV.
sounds a lot like my pro junior..
You must be kidding, right?
Or, DEAF!
love the playing, but that guitar is really out of tune in every clip :(
kommi1974 If you can't hear that the tuning is a bit off on all of the playing samples, that'd be 'just your ears.' For example, listen to the chord at 6:20.
Sounds great but for that price I'm going to pass.
I don't think that I would give 2k for this amp, even if I could. It's nothing special at all.
Says someone who hasn’t ever played one? I’ve played four different models of Toneking amps and ended up buying two of them. They’re really, really, great amps and worth every penny. They’re not for the pedalboard and Hotrod Deluxe crowd though, they’re levels above that.
8sigreg couldn’t have said it better my self
Johnny Kos , yeah, better stick with your Chinese Epiphone and Line 6 Spider.
@@captainamerica9353 lel I play with Fender guitar and Amp but ok whatever you say :') :')
