Let's all take a minute to appreciate the fact that Liu Shan killed the wielder of what is probably the second most OP weapon type (in my opinion) after the halberd.
Well in DW7 at least, Liu Shan is portayed as a man who knows his strengths and weaknesses, he knows how to motivate people and he knows how to make people believe is an idiot as well as to veil his intentions. In this game at least his normal demeanour is a façade of being selfish and childish when he is in fact a kind and thoughtful person however he is also a man who isn't held down by other people's ideals. He clearly respects Liu Bei's vision but knows it's unachievable though his means.
Isn't it amazing? Liu Shan gets more character development in this one scene than his entire family does in the books. That delivery on "I am tired," wow.
Burdened by a dead man's wish. This is something not touched upon At All in the game but Zhong Hui's rebellion was supposedly out of loyalty to Cao Wei rather than the Sima's usurpation, so it's possible he was referring to Cao Cao's legacy. It is also that he may have been talking about himself and the ability to look beyond that. Then there's the thought that he may have been referring to Jiang Wei (who he had slain earlier in this stage) who blindly led the country to it's fall.
After the death of Zhuge Liang, it was in fact Jiang Wei who actually did all that he could to restore Shu. Sadly, he just didn't hold as much power as Jiang Wan and Fei Yi, who both abandon Zhuge Liang campaign plans. In my opinion, I think Liu Feng was the true heir to the Shu Kingdom, not Liu Shan. However because of his simple but costly mistake of not sending Guan Yu reinforcements, he ended his life too early.
I agree he made the best decision under that circumstances, though he remains a fool in reality. Just look at the way he rules Shu, nothing to speak home about. Jiang Wei, as an army commander, is in fact quite capable. ppl forgot how hard it is for him w/ Shu's little resources and manpower to draw a tie w/ Wei for such a long time. Yet, his fatal mistake is failing to see the bigger picture b/c of his blind loyalty to supposed "legitimate Han" that Confucious philosophy tied him into.
A lot of people blame Liu Shan for the fall of Shu. I actually think he did the right thing to surrender to Wei. The ROT3K was a story of war and he knew he didn't have what it took to lead, nor did he care for politic affairs. The guy basically was wrapped up in something he didn't wish to be apart of and his actions for the better ended the fighting.
In ROTK after Zhao Yun saved Liu Shan as a child during Changban and returned him to Liu Bei and told Liu Bei what he had gone through to save Liu Shan, Liu Bei was moved by Zhao 's loyalty and threw Liu Shan at the ground cursing him for almost costing Zhao Yun's life. So it's speculated that, that's why Liu Shan is inept in the novel. So.....spiked like a football after all Zhao Yun's hard work to save him :)
true. In the actual history Liu Bei even said to Zhuge Liang to take over the throne over his son if he proves incapable. But Zhuge refused doing so out of loyalty... And when Liu Shan surrendered Shu, there aren't many brave generals and good strategist to compete with Wei. So in my opinion, there aren't many options left for him...
This is true. Especially since many speculate that Liu Shan pretended to be dumb to avoid execution and he was rewarded for it by living a comfortable life under Jin til he died of old age.
I like how DW7 actually attempts to make Liu Shan more complex then what the actual ROTK and other adaptations make him out to be in the form of an idiotic boob.
I have to admitted, they done well to portray Liu Shan in a new light. A complex character with a more "Human-like" personality, but he still a complete noob in ROTK anyway-_-

That's why I like hi character

That delivery on "I am tired," wow.
Liu Shan and Sima Zhao were in their 50s during this battle.
And Zhong hui was 36, they're never get old in this game lol
Yeeeaaah...Liu Bei Went Kinda Crazy After Guan Yu and Zhang Fei Died...Tyrannical Levels of Crazy, even.

dam
Liu Shan is always “tired”
Liu Shan's voice is so soothing.
my favorite scene in the entrety of the DW series.
I agree he made the best decision under that circumstances, though he remains a fool in reality. Just look at the way he rules Shu, nothing to speak home about.

Even saying "I am tired" is epic with that music! :D

In the books maybe, but he's certainly no idiot in the games.
Liu Shan.....I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU HAVE GROWN STRONGER

Ooo, i thought he was talking about Liu Bei. I thought he was talking about Jiang Wei who really want to make Liu Bei's dream come true.
Both can be assumed as correct
Especially Liu Bei with the shot move to sword in his hand.
Nice to see Zhong Hui get what's coming to him for once. Hated that guy...
Why do I actually like this Liu Shan?
I like how DW7 actually attempts to make Liu Shan more complex then what the actual ROTK and other adaptations make him out to be in the form of an idiotic boob.
Can't wait fore Empires of this game so many different options open.
after liang died shu never really had a chance anymore and it got even worse later on
You know, Sima Zhao's laugh dosen't sound like a mwahahaha to me.
Sima Yi laugh is so villain and antagonist.. but Sima Zhao is different he is look kind.
@Noel T. Lat Definitely in the earlier games. He kind of became less like a villain when they gave him a family.
I thought Zhong Hui's English VA did a horrible job. I was wrong. His death moan was excellent.
I have to admitted, they done well to portray Liu Shan in a new light. A complex character with a more "Human-like" personality, but he still a complete noob in ROTK anyway-_-
@redhare57 He's Referring to Zhuge Liang or His Dad Probably.
I guess his rapier poking abilities in the other cutscene with Xing Cai helped him win a battle against a man with flying swords.
Watching Zhong Hui being cut down....so VERY sssatisfying.
1:38 - had to laugh, because you are a sima. You just HAD to do it.
@pretty123inaCP True, but don't you think Zhao's "Sima laugh" traits are a little...diluted?
@conradojavier My God. That means liu shan has change attitude
@nepomusik His Normal Outfit 2 should be in Teal.(The Greenish Blue Thing Jin is Using)
YOU ARE FREAKING AWESOME ME LIU SHAN FANGIRL
Any chance could you upload this video but with Zhong Hui in his alternate red outfit?
Imagine if Liu Feng was the one to inherit Shu, and not this Adou.
Is Xing Cai and Ma Dai alive at this point of the history ?
No idea. I don’t believe that it’s documented historically. I would say Xing Cai might have been, but Ma Dai probably wasn’t.
@conradojavier i thought who have the dreams about a land of benevolence was liu bei
OMG Zhong Hui... my baby :'( my heart just broke a little bit
Sima Yi's sixth installment does.
Im sorry but liu shan creeps me out. if he was a villian and I saw him in a dark alley i would run
This part story in DW8?
@0:20 liu shan was saying ''burned by a dead man's wish'' who is this ''dead man'' and who got burned by a dead man's wish?
Liu Bei
Debatebly, yeah. But like I said, this game manages to portray him in a different, more positive light. A victim of the more dark side of Shu.
@redhare57 Mostly Zhuge Liang.
@redhare57 He's Not Retarded nor Stupid, He Dislikes His Daddy.
Liu Chan is barely shown any grief in his face
LOl i was going to said that.
Dire que dans la véritable histoire, Liu Shan était une taffiole.
@mingzl81065 Liu Shan Killed Him for Pretending to be British(Even do He's Chinese). LOL
It's because DW is not bound by the Shu/Han propaganda.
@@Megumi_Bandicoot No wonder why I like the Blue Team than the Green Team.
@conradojavier Ooo.
Liu Shan won a Fight? Hahahhaa Why would Liu Shan fight with a Emperor Throne?
