I am using the Canvas hourly for work (I ordered the extra productivity pages for the back of the planner but they weren't there so I need to contact EC about this). I am also going to be using the Canvas 7x9 CV for my personal planner (I ordered the extra notes pages for this one and they were there). I also got the new coil on my personal planner just for fun 😇The placement of the dashboard page doesn't matter to me as I don't use it. I'm on the fence about the new ruler, we'll see. I did give my daughter the ruler, sample pack, and coupons from my work planner as I don't need 2 of them and I'll just continue to use the old ruler for my work planner. Also, I'm going to try some of your current CV kits in the 7x9 to see how they work. I really feel that this weekly planner is very versatile as to what stickers you can use in it.
I was really shocked that you didn’t get a box ahead of time, because I always love your reviews honestly the most! I didn’t really watch any of the other ones, because I kept looking out for your video! I truly always appreciate your honesty so much! I was very excited when I saw this video posted today! ☺️
I am a lefty so the change will not bother me. I do see what tou mean about the stickers though. I wish EC would make the larger coil an option without having to get the18 month planner.
Shout out to Erin Condren and how they package everything. My new planner was delivered on a day it was raining all day and I was gone. The mail person did NOT put it in a plastic bag so it sat on my porch all day in the rain. When I got home the box was drenched, and soggy. I was able to tear it open because it was so wet. However, since it is packaged so well, in the bubble wrap and tissue paper, my planner was unharmed! Perfectly fine! Also, I wanted to state, that I went back to the horizontal layout, from the daily duo because I couldn't get stickers I liked for the daily. If you made stickers for the daily duo 7x9 I would switch back to it next year :D
I purchased the Evolve 18 month Horizontal LifePlanner with the Gold coil along with the Evolve washi tape and the mini snap in bookmarks. I’m like you with the horizontal layout. I ❤ it! My current planner the Inspire is vertical because I wanted to try something different! And when you said that your horizontal planner is “my brain on paper” I said “She is so like me it’s not even funny!” Enjoy your new planner! Love you ❤❤❤❤
1. I have been searching for the horizontal review and was shocked that not one person chose it and all went with the compact vertical (Was there some kind of extra incentive for people to choose this layout? Unsure) 2. I was shocked that you hadn't gotten a box/had a review. While your channel is not my favourite, I love how thoroughly you review the ECLP horizontal. I usually go with the canvas design as well. Thank you for doing an amazing job on reviewing it. I love how you went page by page. That was so helpful. And I'm not a shop or anything. I appreciate how you reviewed this. 3. I don't mind the dashboard change. It's not something I would have asked for but I'm not fussed. The dashboard side I usually don't write to the edge of the page (it's usually a few words) so the coil being in the way isn't a biggy. While the lined page I tend to write to the end of the page so now it will be easier to write. I don't really use stickers. 4. I love that they kept everything the same. Personally I love the Evolve cover and think it's stunning but I had the same issue last year where I hated all the designs and considered just getting two of the same covers. 5. I am surprised (and yet not surprised?) by the quality control that is at EC at the moment and your box quality. 6. If EC team is reading this: Normally I buy on launch day but due to the lack (i.e: complete absence) of horizontal reviews, I will be waiting until sales later this year. You guys really dropped the ball here.
Another content creator said that ec let them choose the layout they wanted this year! I think that’s great because then people actually use the planner they receive. Although, it’s unfortunate for those who like the horizontal layout that no one reviewed it right away. A lot of people have wanted the compact vertical in 7x9 for awhile so I think that’s why it’s had a lot of buzz. Plus, I think people knew they might get more views reviewing a new layout.
I’ve been waiting on your review and couldn’t hit “play” fast enough 😅 My comment will be long and I took notes so I don’t miss anything! ☺️ 1. I order a calendar year so I dont plan to order my new planner until around mid-September 2. I LOVE your custom cover deign for the 7x9 vertical cover. It’s giving me Lily Pulitzer vibes 🩷🎀. Suggestion: make this design a cover for your journals!! 3. Finally some love for all the horizontal planners! I’m concerned sales for the horizontal are going to go down and EC will stop making them. I hope that’s not the case 🤞 And last great job as always on the review! Can’t wait to see your setup video!
I was looking for your review since launch day. Glad to finally see your thoughts. I wasn't going to order a planner this year but ended up purchasing a Horizontal. Now let's see if I actually use it. The Canvas Compact Vertical is nice. I almost want to go back and order that but I'm not. Thanks for sharing!
I went with the Bold Blooms 18-month hourly. I usually always go as neutral as I can, so it took me a couple days to decide between Bold Blooms and Canvas. I'm hoping I don't regret my choice! I didn't get any add-on pages, because from what I understood, even with add-on pages, they didn't increase the size of the coil. Even though I tear out the last 6 months, I was afraid that there still wouldn't be enough coiI to handle all the bulk between stickers and memory planning. I totally agree with you the dashboard change The coil is going to definitely going to make it more difficult to write. I hadn't thought about the added bulkiness from the stickers, but you're totally right on that too.
Not to leave 2 comments but I love the fact you use it for keeping track of absences. I did not think of that and will start doing that next school year.
I just got mine yesterday😍😍 Bold Blooms A5 horizontal and I LOVE the color scheme🥰🥰🥰 I also received my order from you and couldn’t be happier thank you so much🥰🥰
Thank you for the review. I love the ECLP, but sadly have outgrown the layout as I prefer more space for notes and lists without utilizing a separate notebook. Also, I really prefer a Monday start on the monthly calendar. Wish ECLP would offer that option. Every year I watch review videos to see if I might be able to use one again, as it still is the best paper and coil on the market. Surprised that the only other reviews have been about the Compact Vertical. I've always liked watching reviews of the different layouts, not the same one over and over. I'm sorry you didn't get a promotional box, but this actually may be to your advantage since your review has been different from the others. It's the only one I've watched in it's entirety. I'm also sorry about the lack of quality control evident in your order. That and the overall poor quality of EC's other products, especially for the high prices charged, is another reason I've stopped ordering from EC. I'm glad the ECLP appears to still be top notch though and worth the price tag. What I did end up buying from EC is a 12-month spiral Budget Book at Barnes & Noble after seeing it on the website. I didn't like the A5 budget notebook, but this 12 month one seems to be more robust in its layout. Agree with you on the cover options this year. Absolutely love your original cover far more than any EC ones available. Also, your comment on the change to the monthly dashboard and having to write on an uneven page due to the sticker bulk on previous pages is very insightful. Maybe with the thicker paper it might not be an issue, unless a sticker is placed in the exact same place on every spread that is. Take care. Happy planning!
I have only seen 1 or 2 reviews and I didn't watch them. You are the only one who reviews the horizontal. I watch, but the last LP I purchased was in 2018. I've been priced out. I can't justify EC or Simplified prices anymore - or any of the other big names. Even Happy Planner is too expensive now given they are all dashboard layout and no design.
I normally use the coiled monthly. This year I am trying the Evolve compact vertical. I am sort of between monthly and weekly. I make lots of notes and I am a retired school media librarian. Last year the monthly had a new dashboard and it was on the left. It was not an issue at all for me, right handed. I liked it better, in fact. I also ordered the accessory bundle, pen. I think that is all. We winter in Florida and package is sitting on my porch in VA waiting for me to come home next week.
I started with horizontal years back when I first found your channel. Switched to the vertical for a change. Now I’m in the hourly. I think I’ll stick with hourly for next year. I like the compact vertical but agree the layout for the days is odd.
I’m so glad there’s another horizontal lover! You can’t find many -if any- that do horizontal. ❤ also I’m upset they swapped those pages after the month page. I use those every single month for my bills/autopays and that coil is going to be a nightmare. 😢
I am considering multiple planner for the first time ever (one for work one for home). Also, I never buy colored coils until the multi one last year. I loved it, but they made the multi different this year and I don’t like it as much. Oh well…
I ordered the Canvas Hourly on launch day, it came quickly. I later added an A5 Agenda Horizontal for work, but I haven’t received it yet. I actually went with the Bold Blooms pattern for that planner, which is unlike me. It kind of grew on me when I saw the LifePlanner sample spread booklet, because I usually prefer neutral everything.
I don’t like the swapped pages because I use the blank one to recap the preceding month. And the page line up seemed sequential. I can still use it for that purpose, but now it will just be strange having the dashboard page as the beginning of the month and the next (notes) page as a recap page before the weeks even begin. 😕 I wonder what people use this page for that wanted it moved.
Hi, Kristin -- Would you consider doing a video to show us how you did your custom cover? Could it include ideas like how/where you came up with the image and then how you configured it on the EC site, etc? Thanks for this video!
I ordered mine on Monday and got it two days later on Wednesday. I couldn’t believe I got it that fast. My EC orders usually take a good week or so. I got the Canvas vertical and love it! I loved your bow digital cover! Will that be available in your May shop?
I use a 7x9 plum paper planner vertical columns. I still love to watch your videos and use some vertical planner stickers. I am not able to buy any this year though.
I love my 7x9 plum paper too. I tried to cut corners and just get happy planner blank insert and it didn't work so well. Lots of adjustments and things I had to do. I need to look into a non dated plum paper. I struggle to find that size of paper in other brands/makers.
I have the same taste in covers! I did NOT like the Evolve cover and ordered a BB with the BB inside - got it and did NOT like it at all! I sent an email and got almost an immediate response to return - it all went very well and kudos to Erin Condren for that. I reordered this cover and the Evolve inside. Glad I did - happy with it now. I love the colorful tabs, though! Sorry you didn't get your box from EC to test out - bummer.
I have been ordering EC for about 8 years now and I swear I ALWAYS have an issue with the quality of my order. This year I ordered dry erase markers and it had 2 red markers and was missing the yellow. How does that happen??? Customer service is fixing it but still...
I’m just gonna say it. It feels like EC has stalled in the creative department. They’re leaning on prior designs and Etta Vee way too heavily. She’s a beautiful artist, but it feels as if she’s carrying the company at this point. In the last 4 years, we’ve had a reboot of Mid Century Cirles and now this Evolve pattern, which basically looks like Layers 2.0. Are they stuck? It feels like they’re kinda stuck. I don’t know, this is the first year in a decade that I feel so underwhelmed to the point that I don’t even want to buy a LP. I have yet to order anything. Paper add ons are just not enough of an incentive to me. I’ve also still not forgiven EC for giving us Just My Type for one year and then snatching it away. I’ve struggled with them ever since then. I got the canvas last year in 18 month, but the new Canvas is exactly the same, so I figure why buy another one? This has been a tough one this year because EC has been my ride or die for the last decade. 😢
What planner are you using for next year?
I am using the Canvas hourly for work (I ordered the extra productivity pages for the back of the planner but they weren't there so I need to contact EC about this). I am also going to be using the Canvas 7x9 CV for my personal planner (I ordered the extra notes pages for this one and they were there). Also, I'm going to try some of your current CV kits in the 7x9 to see how they work. I really feel that this weekly planner is very versatile as to what stickers you can use in it.
I use Happy Planner, but I like to watch videos about different types of planners.
Thanks to you I will get another horizontal 7x9
I was really shocked that you didn’t get a box ahead of time, because I always love your reviews honestly the most! I sure hope they don’t discontinue it. Fingers crossed.
What I had really wished they had done is switched the dashboard so that I can have two blank notes pages side by side for my budget planning

So glad you love everything. Thank you so much for ordering.
Overall, it looks like not as many affiliates got boxes this time. I didn’t see as many RUclips videos as years past.

Do you sell the bookshelf sticks??? ❤
Yes I do. :)
This looks bigger than a compact size?
9x7 vertical bold blooms … but I feel EC is bit boring this year. I wish they had more customization.
A5 vertical
