I get the jocular nature of the title's tagline (before it was cool) but my god is "I was the Sun" one of the coolest and rawest names for a video game theme I've ever heard. I assumed it was a boss theme up until I saw the full title and actually got into Starbound because it just SOUNDED like something for some corrupt person who made great accomplishments but eventually descended into depravity as absolute power corrupted absolutely and they begin reminiscing and monologuing to the player character about their greatness; "I WAS the SUN! And now look at me... But if you think I will fall without a fight you're gravely mistaken, Protagonist Jones."
I could also see it as a fallen hero type, they fought the great evil only for their luster and ability to fade, then they became just what they meant to destroy.
Never really got into Starbound, but I've always adored this theme and the concept of the characters it accompanies. Nice to hear a remix of it in a genre I love as well.

I have an OC. His name is Gutt Voth. And when he was young, he used to play Banjo. In an accident his thumb and index fingers were chopped off, but instead of crumbling he was TRIUMPHANT. He was not JUST a Mandalorian, but first Gigoran Mandalorian of clan Voth, notably a very xenophobic clan. Gutt finished his training with three fingers on each hand, but after a botched Neimoidian bank heist, would have golden B2 battledroid fingers cybornetically attached to his hands, allowing him full degree of motion. But now he could no longer play his Banjo. His metal fingers would snap the strings if he tried. So, on the hunt for a new sound, Gutt tried many things. Guitars, drums, flutes, but his metal fingers fangled with the strings, his rhythm was off with the drums and any wind instrument he would play always messed up when it came to his index finger being square and bulky. But then he was introduced to the piano. Keyboard. And finally settled on the Keytar. Where he'd jam all day on funky synth rhythms. I like to believe the original "I was the sun" is in some form part of him. Something he'd play as a child to impress his mother. But as he grew up, as he battled trauma and his surrogate father telling Gutt because he was Gigoran he'd never be mandalorian, he'd pick up something new and non-traditional. To the point that he'd get a keytar embedded in his Z-6 rotary cannon. A "fuck you, I do what I want" to his racist dad.
Get those cookies outta the oven, put on those sunglasses and activate the warp drive. It's time to fly. Destination? Wherever you want baby, wherever you want.
I don't know how much RUclips's TOS lets me share, but I did post it to reddit the day I uploaded it. But by the end of the first month it only had 500 views. Most of the views have been within the last month.

You should check out some of the boss themes from Binding of Isaac. Like "My Innermost Apocalypse" lol
